Jumping, Dancing & Jamming Our Way Through Walt Disney World! I'm With the Band Now!

What??? No report on which was your favorite drink??? :confused3:confused3

Can I just say I LOVE that Mama (can we call her that!? :rotfl:) will just ride anything. I can't see any of my grandparents riding Test Track!

Glad you found my PTR!!! :goodvibes

You've been pumping out the updates!!
I love that picture of you looking not so perfect...because you always do, so it shows even the best looking people can take bad pictures every so often.
And I have that eye thing going too, but I don't have a reason why mine does that.

I hope Hunter can save enough to get that car! :thumbsup2

Neither of my kids have been very shy about getting up in front of a crowd.....wonder who they get that from. :rolleyes1

When you ate at Ohana did you ask for alternative foods to be brought out for Dallas and Dale? They brought hot dogs out for Hunter to eat.

My kids all took after Dale, shy.

We got the hot dogs for Dallas, but Dale wouldn't order anything different. He ate the shrimp and some of the steak, but not much else. Me? I ate some of everything.......:lmao:

Epcot was almost perfect that day for us! The crowds were so low and we easly adapted to the rain! I have yet to try the orange side and I will never allow keith to but that is the only side the kids will ride now!

When we rode Test Track a few days prior they did not show the video and I missed that part. It sort of explained what was happening on the ride. I am glad to see maybe there was just a glitch at that time! I thought I saw that Test Track is down almost this whole summer for refurb...I can't remember which site I saw that on though.

Hey everybody! Sorry I haven't been around the last day or so. The slowness of the Dis is driving me nuts and I knew I would never have the patience to try and get an update posted. It's also been busy at the office. I made about 750 copies yesterday alone and still have more to go. Our copy machine is getting old so I have to stand near it and watch to make sure every page goes through. We also had a serious child abuse case go to court yesterday and we were working out behinds off to make sure we had all our ducks in a row.

Maybe I can get an update done this afternoon or tomorrow.

Oh and if anybody is interested....Lacey and Jesse left a large box of old comic books at our house at Christmas time. She wanted me to list them on ebay and I've only gotten a few listed. If any of you are interested, let me know. There's a range of different books....Star Wars, Captain America, Justice Society, etc. and they are all in mint condition.

Okay, back to copying. :crazy2:

Lisa, I'm pretty much all caught up. I do love the pictures you took going to the Poly (one of my favorite resorts) -- so beautiful. And looks like a great Epcot Day (Mission: :sick::sick: -- nope, I don't do either side).

You can't start doing work while you are at work now!!! Your boss will start to expect it!! Then what will we do?!?!?!:rotfl:

On a serious note, I hope that the child abuse case was resolved quickly and that the child(ren?) in question is okay!

Hey Lisa! Just checkin' in!

When you're done "makin' copies" (old SNL reference!)....can't wait to get back to the report!

I'll come back with replies but I'm gonna try to get another installment posted first. The boss has gone to court but they are only going to continue the hearing to another date so he won't be gone long.......

After Hunter figured out that there was no way in hecka decka that he would have enough money to buy the cars, he simply had his picture taken in them and we moved on. Moved on to where? Hum...from the looks of my pictures, we were about to take a walk around World Showcase. First, we stopped to take a look at the pretty topiaries and flowers that were still around from the Flower & Garden Festival.

We must have taken a right onto World Showcase 'cause that's what my pictures are showing:

100_1793.jpg

And guess what happened next? Yep! Rain!

100_1794.jpg

100_1795.jpg

The rain does clear out the crowds though:

100_1796.jpg

Last year (well in 2010), we had gone in to see the film in France and, since it was raining, cats, dogs and moo-moo cows, we figured why not see it again? We shed our hot ponchos and huddled in the waiting area with the rest of the soggy guests. John kept asking "have I seen this before?" "have I been here?". Yes, John, you've been here before but no, you haven't seen it before. "Well why not?" he asked me. "You fell asleep!" "Oh yeah, this is the palce where you told me I had exactly 18 minutes to sleep. I think I'll take a nap again."

We were let into the theater and I made sure we chose seats towards the back. It's hard for Mama to walk down inclines and it would be easier for her if we sat towards the back. And, because I knew that John wasn't kidding when he said he was going to take a nap again, nobody would be sitting behind us laughing when his head kept bobbing back and forth.

The film was pretty and we all enjoyed every minute of those 18 minutes. John included but just in a different way. When we walked outside, we were relieved to see that the rain had stopped and we didn't have to don the ponchos again.

100_1798.jpg

We continued our walk around World Showcase, stopping here and there whenever something caught our eye. See Mama is in front of the kids in this one. She is too funny...whenever she is ready to go see something or is ready to leave...the lady can kick it into high gear.

100_1799.jpg

We made it to Morocco and we knew that we wanted to do more exploring in this country.

April do you remember the significance of this picture?

100_1805.jpg

***continued in next post

For those of you who are not April, she once wrote a trip report and part of the title was "anatomically correct" and the above picture was what she was referring to. I had never noticed it until she said something about it.

Our next stop on our tour around the World...World Showcase that is...was Japan. For some reason, I've always loved stopping in Japan and looking at all the things they have for sale and on display.

100_1806.jpg

100_1807.jpg

Oh look! It's the Candy Lady!

100_1808.jpg

100_1809.jpg

I didn't linger too long however because I had some place to go and that place was Pick A Pearl! Every year, Mama gives John and I $50 each and I spend mine at WDW. For the last three years, I've spent it at Pick A Pearl and this time was no different. I paid for my pearl, was given my number and waited my turn.

100_1814.jpg

Soon, I was picking the ugliest most disgusting looking oyster there was which wasn't too terribly hard because there really weren't any pretty ones in the bunch. :lmao:

100_1810.jpg

Oooh honey, you really should smile with your mouth closed. Just saying.

100_1811.jpg

Taaaa Daaaa!

100_1812.jpg

A little tap a tap tap on the drum:

100_1813.jpg

They bagged up my pretty pearl and I went over to the display case to see what I wanted. After semi-pushing my way into the guest who were just standing there doing nothing other than watching, I found the setting I wanted. It was a pendant that looked kinda like a flower but kinda not. It was pretty swirls that looked like a flowery thingy. Anyway, it was pretty. I told them that was my choice and my pearl was too big. :headache: I asked them what they suggested and they pointed out a very pretty pendant that looked very similar to a pair of earrings that my mother gave me for my birthday a few years ago. I told them that I wanted it, paid for it and was given another ticket. My pendant would be ready in about 30 minutes.

We walked around a little while in the store where I saw these little dried crabs:

100_1815.jpg

And tiny dried fish:

100_1816.jpg

Who the heck eats that stuff? Gross me out! Barfarama! **Pardon my 80's sayings or are those 90's saying? :confused3

It began to get pretty crowded in the store, so we went outside where I took a few more pictures:

100_1817.jpg

100_1818.jpg

The candy lady was still doing her candy making and we could hear her saying "very hot candy", "make cute animals". She's so entertaining!

Hey Lisa! Just checkin' in!

When you're done "makin' copies" (old SNL reference!)....can't wait to get back to the report!

Finally had a little bit of time to post an update!

You can't start doing work while you are at work now!!! Your boss will start to expect it!! Then what will we do?!?!?!:rotfl:

On a serious note, I hope that the child abuse case was resolved quickly and that the child(ren?) in question is okay!

The child abuse case went fairly well. The daddy now has supervised visitation with Child Protective Services and has to undergo psychological evaluation.

Lisa, I'm pretty much all caught up. I do love the pictures you took going to the Poly (one of my favorite resorts) -- so beautiful. And looks like a great Epcot Day (Mission: :sick::sick: -- nope, I don't do either side).

I love love love Mission Space! I have never done the mild side before 'cause I like the wild one too much.

Mission Space is too fun! I have heard about Test Track being down for the Summer but Disney doesn't have it on their refurb list yet.

My kids all took after Dale, shy.

We got the hot dogs for Dallas, but Dale wouldn't order anything different. He ate the shrimp and some of the steak, but not much else. Me? I ate some of everything.......:lmao:

I tried some of everything too even though I'm a fairly picky eater. John really enjoyed Ohana and actually requested that we go back next trip.

You've been pumping out the updates!!

And I have that eye thing going too, but I don't have a reason why mine does that.

You're too sweet Jen! The Bell's Palsy causes the right side of my face to be puffier than the other side and my eye droops. If I smile really big, you can't even see my eye which is why I don't smile real big in pictures.

What??? No report on which was your favorite drink??? :confused3:confused3

Can I just say I LOVE that Mama (can we call her that!? :rotfl:) will just ride anything. I can't see any of my grandparents riding Test Track!

Glad you found my PTR!!! :goodvibes

The watermelon Coke is our favorite hands down! I wish they sold it in a bottle 'cause I'd definitely buy it.

Mama is pretty good about doing is all. The only things she won't do are the large coasters and Tower of Terror because of her heart condition. In her younger years, she would have done it all!

Love your Epcot pictures and update.

We are going with most of the family at the end of May. The last time my dad and one of my brothers was there was over 10 years ago. We were total WDW newbies. Test Track had just opened and we all thought it was the Richard Petty driving experience so we didn't even go by it. The men didn't want to be tempted to shell out more money.

We didn't figure out what it really was until a couple of years later. So I was so excited my dad and brother would finally get to ride it on our upcoming trip. BUT it's going down for a major rehab and they will miss it again!

Oh well they still have a ton of new things to look forward too!

Love your Test Track story! Isn't it funny how we missed so much when we were Disney virgins? I look back at our first two or three trips and can only do this :sad2:

Great Epcot pics! I tried Mission Space this last trip in May but I did the Green side, it was me, my Dad and my BIL's Dad, (my BIL went on Orange) I chickened out at the last minute on Orange and decided to stick with my Dad.

At least you rode Mission Space! That's an accomplishment. :thumbsup2

The sunset pictures on the way over to the Poly are amazing! The chapel looks so pretty.

I can't believe the empty bus stop to EPCOT! Kudos to you for M:S Orange. Not gonna do it. Ever.

How wonderful that Mama had fun on Test Track!

I really liked the sunset pictures too. It was a nice peaceful boat ride over to the Polynesian.

I love Mission Space but I have to admit that I feel a little wobbly headed when I get off.

Yay! Lisa's pictures are back! Loving all the updates!

Dinner at 'Ohana looks fabulous. We did breakfast there on our last trip because we wanted the characters, but it looks like we should give dinner a try!
And we should also take the boat...gorgeous pictures!

Epcot is my favorite park...except for Mission Space, of course. I truly would be hurling! LOL! :lmao:

Definitely try dinner at Ohana. It's sooooo good!

Just a note...if you have to hurl in Mission Space, they do have barf bags. I kid you not!

Wow - I missed a lot of updates recently. I love the pictures you took on the way to the Poly. The sun setting over the water is just gorgeous.

What a fun time at Epcot. I was going to guess Mission Space. does that count? :rotfl: You are all braver than me because I am a green teamer! Fun pictures inside the queue and inside TT. I tried some TT pics this trip but I don't think they turned out. :confused3

I think it definitely counts that you were going to guess Mission Space. :thumbsup2 Mission Space is one of our favorites and we've ridden it every time we go to Epcot.

I am loving your Epcot photos. I can't get enough of that park!

Thank you! I love Epcot too!

Lisa, love your Epcot update. Too funny that momma was on a mission and passed up the kids.

And, why does it not surprise me that John took an 18 minute nap? :lmao::lmao:

Your pictures of the flowers and toparies are wonderful.

OOH I am so glad you are talking about Pick a Pearl! I have never done this, but plan to do so with my very own $50 gift card. :cool1: It is nice to know I will be able to get something pretty with my money! Usually, money doesn't go very far in the World...

I really do not understand the people who complain about how long it takes for the bus to go around Caribbean Beach Resort. I much prefer being one of the first stop and having a better chance to get a seat, than having a shorter drive by embarking last, but risking to spend that drive standing up. :confused3

I don't know why they do either. It has never taken us long at all to make the resort loop.

So was Hunter able to buy the car??? ;)

You guys definitely got a lot done in Future World! And you're much braver than I am to go on the orange side of Mission Space!! :scared1:

He was juuuuuuuust a few bucks shy of having enough. :rotfl:

We love Epcot just as much as you do and try to get as much done as we can.

I've never noticed that...um...feature in Morocco before! :rotfl:

The woman standing directly across from you in the yellow tank top looks impressively unimpressed by the candy art. She didn't stop frowning in any of your pics!

While I do hate rain in Disney, Epcot really is a great place to be, with all of the places to duck into and hang out! I've never seen the movie in France, but it does sound like a nice way to spend 18 minutes!

She can definitely keep up or even pass us up if she's wanting to see something or go somewhere. :rotfl:

I knew you wouldn't be surprised at John's little nap. He was asleep in no time at all.

OOH I am so glad you are talking about Pick a Pearl! I have never done this, but plan to do so with my very own $50 gift card. :cool1: It is nice to know I will be able to get something pretty with my money! Usually, money doesn't go very far in the World...

I believe the cost of the pearl was about $15 and then the setting that I chose was around $25. In the past I had to add a little to my $50 but not much. It's definitely worth doing.

I hadn't noticed it either until one of my readers wrote a trip report and included it there.

I noticed her too. I wonder if she was mad 'cause the candy lady can't give out the candy any more.

You should take a minute (actually 18 minutes) and see the film in France. The screen is wide and it almost feels like you are moving.

The "anatomically correct" picture is hilarious...I have seen that one! :lmao:

I think we must have been just ahead of you guys at the Pick-a-Pearl! Well sort of...30 minutes to an hour!

I just love World Showcase. Great pictures!!

We do the green side of Mission Space because I get very sick and dizzy:sick: on anything that spins. Maybe if my mom is up for the orange side this time she can take River so he can try it. He would probably love it.

I'm so disappointed that Test Track will be down when we go:sad2:

You had me laughing out loud for real when you said that girl should smile with her mouth closed.

I can't wait to see what your family gets up to next!

I forgot about the anatomically correct picture in Morocco and I totally forgot to look for it in December. But now that I've seen pictures of it on two different TRs it must really be there. :lmao:
