Jumpin' June Exercise Thread

15 minutes of trail walking and calf raises. It's been a rough week for exercise. Hopefully I'll find more time this week. I have to do better!

200/1200

I am not getting as much exercise as planned - and now we have record heat of over 90, so not a lot going to happen for the next three days either... Will have to make up of it during the second half of the month!!

Lazy Sunday yeterday; just a 1/2 hour walk

Today my back is bothering me...it was supposed to be a one-hour lower body workout but I think that's too much. I'll probably just do my physical therapy exercises and maybe a little leg work. I'll see how I'm feeling. My back has been great the last couple of weeks but I think the terrible rain we are having is what's making it act up again. I hope it gets better!

20 minutes of lower back strengthening exercises, and 20 minutes of upper body resistance. Staying away from squats and lunges today because of my lower back. It's getting better and I hope it continues to do so. I think the weather is at least partially to blame. Very bad rain today and they're calling for more throughout the week.

60 minutes of Zumba

640/1400

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I'm struggling bad with diet! Any ideas on motivation!!! I ate donuts today :( help!

hmack...sorry about your daughter's trail run experience. Hopefully she's good to go and ready to get back out with you. :yay::yay:

Did 120 minutos of Bikram yoga on Saturday... I thought I would need an ambulance by the end! Hahaha

115+120= 235/600

I can help you! Ok, so you ate donuts today. That is now in the past. Move forward...your next healthy meal or snack is just around the corner and eating donuts today doesn't have to make you overeat the whole day or for the rest of the week. You also did an hour of Zumba which will counteract lots of calories! Much better than just lying around and eating all day!

I also struggle with eating. I enjoy eating. I do not eat to live, rather I live to eat. But I also follow Weight Watchers, and no food is forbidden. I have learned how to behave around food and how to have a little of this, a little of that and be satisfied. I also try not to eat until I'm completely stuffed. That also helps because I feel a lot better doing things that way. I do indulge on occasions, and there are so many of those this month but I know that I am in control of my choices.

Exercise has never been my problem. I love to exercise. The food is the biggest challenge. I tend to be at the high end of my healthy weight range for my height. I wish I could maintain a little lower, but not sure if that will happen.

Another thing to remember, which is so important...the exercise you are doing has its positive effects on your outside appearance, yes, but it has an even more positive effect on what you cannot see...your overall health!

And one more thing...you are ultimately in control, even if people try to say things like "oh, you can afford it just have one or two". No one has walked in anyone else's shoes and no one has the right to force you to eat a certain way or to question how or what you are eating, whether it's lettuce and water in front of people or donuts. It is none of anyone's business. I find that sometimes when people know I'm a lifetime member of Weight Watchers, they question me if they see me eat a piece of cake at a party or something. I don't like having to explain that I can work anything into a day and not technically fall of the wagon. Further, if someone offers you a food it is perfectly respectful to say no thank you.

MRS AR :welcome: I was wondering when I would see you here!

Happy birthdays to disneybelle99 and bangzoom6877 :cake:

bangzoom--sorry about your back. Hopefully that weather changes and it'll be back to normal! pixiedust:

mybestieismickey--don't be discouraged thinking you're not doing much. Any little bit is fantastic. You're being healthy and taking care of yourself! ::yes:: Keep up the good work.

natalieguy--I think bangzoom gave you some excellent advice. If you want some real motivation, start lurking on the wish away the pounds June challenge thread. They are great (and some of them are here, too!).

hmack--ouch! Hope your daughter is better! :flower3:

ebradley--Do I have your correct numbers? Post 106 you had 583 minutes, but post 126 you said you had 528. Are you exercising backwards?!

Keep up the good work! I am so impressed by ya'll! :worship:

I logged 4 minutes of planks/abs that I haven't done yet so better go before I make a liar of myself!

Thank you! Today my back is slightly better than it was yesterday. I'm hoping it continues to get better. Unfortunately, "normal" for my back in recent months means some sort of low back stiffness, soreness or spasms. Although the spasms are a lot less frequent than the stiffness and soreness. But when it gets stiff or sore, I'm always nervous it will get worse and then I will get spasms. So I'm very careful. The good thing is that I have to stay active because it's better for it. My back feels a lot better when I'm moving than not. I like that because I love exercise, but I like to do more intense exercise than I'm allowed to sometimes, and that's what's frustrating. Well, that and also the fact that sometimes I really do just feel like sitting and lounging around for a little while, and it gets stiff after sitting sometimes. I'm going to call my doctor this afternoon and let him know what's going on. Aspirin is helping a bit as well, but a few weeks ago he put me on a muscle relaxer for a week and that knocked it right out. I hope that wasn't just temporary...I can't be on muscle relaxers in the long term, nor would I want to be.
