I just rec'd a quote from AAA for a package 7/13 - 7/18 at POP - 2 rooms - for me/DH/DS15/DD8 with 6 day MYW plus DDP and it appears it's only a savings of 5% on the room portion. I thought it would be around 15%. Any insight?

You booked in JUly.Traditionally becuase July is Peak season, the discounts are minimal to low.:goodvibes

We are going to WDW July 12-19 and I booked 2 rooms only through Disney with the AAA discount and it was 10% off the rooms.

Hope this helps!

I have always found that booking myself and asking for the AAA discount has worked better. I have also done the room only - then bought the tickets seperately.

Thanks all - I'm trying to do the DDP also - which i believe you MUST purchase MYW tickets too. Any other way to do that?

Completely agree.

The AAA discount should be 15% off during the summer season for room only(which includes your travel dates, per mousesavers). The only time it is not 15% is value season when it increases to 20%. Packages may be different though, especially those not booked directly through Disney.

Also, keep in mind that the room rate that is based on increases for Fri and Sat nights. I know this doesn't apply to your trip, but thought it might at least partially explain things for others who might be booked over the weekend and are not seeing the discount they expect.

I only received 10% off my room only ressie at POP for June 28 - July 12. I also was under the impression that I would be getting 15% so I called the AAA office. They called to get a quote and it too was only 10%. The AAA agent tried to get an explaination (10% vs 15%) and she was told that they didn't know.

They should keep asking what the reason is. My brother is booked into POR with a AAA rate (booked directly through Disney) for this June and has a 15% discount.

What is the date in June?

Just doublechecked with him. Actually a split stay: June 2-8 with first 3 nights at POR and last 3 at WL.

I'm not doubting you in any way. Just thought you should know some people are getting better discounts than your AAA agent has gotten, at least for June. After re-reading the mousesavers site, they do use the phrase "In general, the discounts run as follows." (italics are mine) So maybe Disney has tightened things up for July. But I've also seen plenty of posts on here about people who know AP codes and the like have been issued and have to call a couple times before finding a CRO who knows how to find the correct discount in his computer. Just saying that a CRO's statement that they don't know why there's a difference would make me want to keep trying until I found one who could at least give me a better explanation.

I didn't think you doubted me...I was just curious as to how the date compared to mine.

Through AAA the summer season is 10%, who told you 15%? At WL the discount is 15%. Here is the link. Page 12

I received 15% 2 years ago for almost the same date and I've seen several websites that still show 15% for that season. I assumed that it was the same this time around. That extra 5% is a fair amount of money on a 14 night stay.....oh well.

I love that brochure and it clearly states 10% for the summer season. I guess times have changed.:)

Is there a way to get a printed copy of that brochure?

I booked a studio at Boardwalk Villas for 7/22-7/29 with a AAA discount of 20%. I guess I got lucky.

Different room class and season. With Boardwalk being a Deluxe, you're actually booked into Value Season with your dates. But this reinforces the idea that the AAA discounts on Mousesavers are only general guidelines because their site says that during Value Season you can get up to 15% off with a AAA ressie at Deluxe and DVC resorts. Congrats on getting the 20%! We're traveling next year during the same dates you are, so hope we end up getting lucky as well!

I had originally booked a room at the Boardwalk Inn with a 15% discount. But I called back to extend my stay and got a higher price than I had expected based on the shorter stay I had booked (I didn't realize at the time I had extended my stay by one day before the start of value season so I had a significantly higher rate for one night) and so asked if they could check into it. The guy I was speaking with then came upon the deeper discount at the Villas and was definitely taken by surprise by it. He had not expected to find a difference.

I just booked through disney for June 1-6 and only got a 10% discount. I wonder why there is such a difference.
