Ok, Im going to WDW in like 4 days. Im the type of person that just doesnt wear shorts..ever. I own 1 pair or shorts. Ill probably wear them once. I have like 2 or 3 pairs of capris. My question is what do you suggest? Im not going to buy more shorts since this trip is costing a lot of money, and even if i did, i probably wouldnt wear them. Will I live?

I would wear white cotton capris or pants very light weight or a very light tan the weight and color matter more than length if you ask me. What do you wear in the heat at home? Wear what is comfortable to you! Hope you have a blast!

My Mom doesn't wear shorts either. Adidias and Land's End have lightweight nylon capri pants. I agree with previous poster, look for lightweight capris. If it is a vanity issue, I wouldn't worry about it, you will see all shapes and sizes in various forms of undress!

i wear pants ALL the time..winter/fall/spring/SUMMER...usually im ok, cuz i dont go outdoors a lot. Its nothing with my size, im fine..im just really lazy and i dont like to shave lol. I dunno, i just dont like shorts. But im probably gonna wear capros alot...i have 3 pairs. Maybe i can get another cheap pair or something. Would anyone advise me not to just wear a pair of pants to WDW? Do you think it will be tooo hot?

Just don't wear denim unless it is very light weight. No Levis. They will be terribly warm.

What about skirts or sundresses? I think they would be cooler than pants.

I'm too lazy to shave too. I have a bunch of sun dresses that go down to my ankles that are really comfortable. I have to shave under my arms but that doesn't take very long. I also bought a couple of pairs of linen pants in light colors. They are just as cool as shorts. The Wal Mart near me has a ton of linen seperates for very cheap.

I suppose I will be the voice of decent on here and say that if it is only a matter of being lazy and not wanting to bother shaving, than you should just suck it up and do so. Not that I would personally ever judge someone for what they choose to wear (that would be ridiculous in my opinion) but since you asked, I think you will be very uncomfortable in the FL heat. I live in FL, I know how warm it is. Plus it rains so often during the afternoons in the summer. There are also water rides to consider. Just imagine walking around soaked from Splash MT in very hot weather. Warm and damp does not sound like it feels good to me. Denim takes an especially long time to dry. Being uncomfortable for so long is not my idea of a fun time. If you have pants that are not denim, such as light weight cotton, I would suggest wearing them. Personally I would just shave and wear the shorts and capris. I know you mentioned not spending a lot of money on new shorts, but did you consider buying things like exercise shorts?? I don't mean bike shorts, but more like cheerleader type shorts (not sure if those have a specific name). They are lightweight with an elastic waist something like boxer shorts.

I agree about the denim. I wore denim shorts and they got soaked at the AK. The shorts were wet and in a short amount of time hot. We had to go back to the hotel and change. I never wear demin shorts into the parks. It wasted so much time.

If you get there and it is too hot for your capris there are plenty of shorts you can buy there. We bought sweatshirts one year because it was cold during e night.

I live in Florida - an hour and a half away from Disney. If someone told me they'd give me free tickets if I wore pants in the park all day, I'd tell them keep the tickets. Central Florida is HOT... VERY HOT.. and VERY HUMID. Be kind to yourself and purchase a few inexpensive pairs of shorts. You will be glad you did.

we just returned from the "world" and my son who is 13 refuses to wear shorts...it was very hot and humid during our trip and believe me when i tell you, he was not comfortable in the jeans all day every day...the only time i got him to get out of the jeans was to go to the pool or the water park...
he made it and i'm sure you will but you will be much more comfortable in shorts....
have a great time!!!!

You could just wear shorts and not bother shaving, people will think you're European!:jester:

Hi ~ how about a couple of long flowing skirts?, ankle length ~ they are so pretty and cool in the summer heat... nice florals or solid colours and you can wear them with different coloured tops or even t-shirts...

Have a great trip ~ don't worry about anything!

>>^..^<<

I would be most concerned about your body's ability to regulate its temperature if you wear clothing inappropriate to the weather conditions. It is HOT in July in Florida. Gauze fabrics and 100% cotton will likely be the most heat resistant, but I could not imagine wearing shorts and touring the parks in the heat of the summer.
If you are terribly uncomfortable, you can always go buy some new clothing! There are many great shops, and you might find you need to visit them
Have fun and stay cool whatever you choose.:D

I just returned last week and wore capris a couple times...wasn't bad at all - one pair was a lightweight denim...but that was a no water ride day. You'll survive...but I'd pack the shorts just in case.

I'm not a huge fan of shorts, either- I have one pair that reaches to my knee and that is it. I bought a couple shorter pairs for a WDW trip a couple years ago and never touched them. Don't buy 'em if you hate 'em. You're right-- you'll never want to wear them, even at WDW. Clothing should be comfortable to your body and comfortable to your spirit as well.

What I wear in the summer are lots of skirts-- mostly slightly above the knee, some to the knee. They are as cool as shorts and I feel less clumsy in them. I do wear capris but not in hot hot weather-- then I wear the skirts. Need that air flowing. I get lightweight denim (Gap, olg Navy), khaki skirts-- sundresses are fabulous too and nice and cool. I feel great in them and never miss shorts. And casual skirts like that look fine with sporty sandals or sneaker (with anke socks) or whatever your athletic footwear of choice is.

Good luck!

(on edit... I just realize that doesn't solve the "shaving issue" well, decide what matters to you. If you don't feel like shaving, don't do it. They're your legs. But if you think legs should be shaved, well, you know, I agree shaving is a pain, but its not that bad. You don't have to get fancy-- all you need is a pink razor, and hot shower, a bar of soap, and two extra minutes of your life. Believe me, I let the shaving go myself from about October to April, but I do suck it up in the summer.)

Wouldn't shaving still be an issue with skirts or capris?

I've got an idea: Get your legs waxed - just one time. After that, you'll never complain about shaving again!

I've got one word for those to lazy to shave..."Nair". I hate to shave but went to a local water park in June and bought a bottle. It worked great!!! I just left it on for 10 minutes and...no hair. It lasts a few days (longer than shaving I think), so do it before you leave and then midway through your trip. It's under $5.00, and then you can wear the capris, skirts, or shorts...or swimwear, whatever you decide. Renessa

Oh, if it has been a while since shaving, it may take more than one application, but smear it on thick. And they have scented and roll-on varities as well!!! Renessa
