I am excited about our upcoming visit to DLR this July. First time on the 4th. Who else is in? How are the crowds, truthfully? Is there a special firework show? We were at WDW this past NYE. I doubt any place can ever achieve the crowds of that magnitude.

In 2006 we found that July 4 was the quietest day of our stay due to nearly all APs being blacked out. It was however a mid week July 4 so this year may be different. Yes there is a special fireworks show, it runs much longer.

Surprisingly, YES. We have never planned a summer visit. This is my first time in the summer. We like off-season. But, DH is turning 50 and we (he and I) are going on his b-day, July 16. We are totally excited. We went for my 40th b-day 2 years ago and had such a great time, he wanted to go for his b-day. :goodvibes Our dates are July 16, 17 and 19. We have AP's and are blacked out on Saturday, so we will hang at the beach or the pool and go out for a nice dinner. Here's hoping we will have a blast. :lovestruc And the crowds won't be tooooo bad.

DD12's 13th bday is the 8th, we are still trying to figure out exactly how we are going to work it. We have Premium APs this year so we can go if we want to.....we are hoping to take my niece as well, she's 11 so the girls will have a ton of fun!!

We're going :wave2: We will be there from July 27-Aug 1. Hope it is not too hot and humid

Hi! We are going to be there July 24- Aug 1.
We haven't decided on a hotel....but want one really close like BWPPI. It will be me, hubby, 2 daughters (7 &9) and a 1 1/2 year old....so we want to be as close as possible.
We're also going to Sea World and Lego land.

Can't wait! We have the flights and hoppers and just need to settle on a hotel. I'm almost certain that we are going to be a BWPPI. It seems better kept than Desert Inn or Park Vue. Any thoughts?

Compared to where I live, just outside Houston, California weather is ALWAYS perfect year round. I do not think I would ever attempt WDW during the summer. Have fun.

We are staying at Paradise Pier with our DVC developer points we received in December when we bought our new home...AKV. We have never stayed at a hotel when we go to DL. We normally stay with my family who is fortunate to live just 15 minutes away. This will be a real treat.

Looking forward to seeing ya'll there (a little bit of Texas).

Good to hear. I won't go near WDW between May-Oct. Toooo Hot!

Thanks, you have fun too!

To bad DLR is not celebrating the "get in free for your birthday" promotion like WDW. Happy Birthday!!! I would love to visit DLR or WDW for my birthday.

Thanks, wdhinn89, that was great to know. I looked everywhere for that and never seemed to find it. I kept thinking that would be odd for the offer to be at WDW, but not DLR.

Hello!!! I'm in!!! We'll be there from July 26 - 30 and my birthday is the 27th!!! :yay:

I'm also hoping it isn't too hot but anything has to be better than south Louisiana in July!!! :thumbsup2

Count us in, too! We are going to be there July 18-24 staying at the famed HoJo's. This will be our first trip in July, but I don't expect it to be much different than June or August, but we'll see.

Hot maybe, but not humid especially compared to the East coast. CA is known for it's dry heat. It also cools down to a beautiful summer night, not like Vegas and Chicago that stay miserable hot 24 hours in summer. People come here for the weather and about 85-90% prefer it over the weather they have at home even on the hotter days.

Sure they do, we've already been this year for DBFs bday, we are going in May for mine, in July for DD12's 13th and in Dec for DD9s 10th. :) We get the fun card so we have some $$ to spend. :)

No, not humid in CA, altho So Cal is more humid than Nor Cal is. I've been to the East Coast in the humidity, thought I was going to die! LOL

WE are going July 12-16th! I am so excited. We are WDW vets and are totally looking forward to see where it all began. DD will be 4 by then and can't wait to book an appoinment at BBB for her!

I am counting down the days till I can make my ADR's!!!
