We were on Deck 2 and the hum from the engine was surprisingly calming. I woke up very early and went up on deck to look around. I could see some small islands in the distance as we passed them, but could not see anything big. There is maybe 10 people on deck 10. The air is just so very clean and the sunrise is pretty.

I go back down to the cabin to get the family and we all go upto breakfast at Beach Blanket Buffet at 7:30. There are not that many people up there that early. WE got the standard breakfast stuff such as Mickey Waffles, bacon, sausage, and Kripy Kreme doughnuts. We chose a seat out by the back railing and have a great view of the Fantasy, which we have now passed and is far in the distance. After we eat, we head up to the bow of the boat so we could see us pull into Nassau. We can see the Atlantis Resort and the City. The Norwegian Dawn is already docked in port. As we approach, the ship does a complete turn around and backs into the dock. We head to the stern of the ship to watch us pull in. DS10 notices the Secret Deck 7 Aft area, so we go there to watch us dock. The message comes on that the horn is going to sound and we watch as everyone on the dock looks up at our grand ship. We go down to Deck 4 and play some shuffleboard. While we are playing, the Dawn is right next to us. It looks like a nice ship as well, very colorful. They announce we are cleared and then we head on down to the deck 1 Gangway, all the way down the hall. They swipe our cards and we are off onto the dock. When we got off we saw the Fantasy (aka The Floating Frat House, just joking) which however, pulled in forwards.

We go into the Festival Place building to get into the City and we are bombarded by Taxi and Carriage drivers. Then we exit and head on over to the Straw Market, stopping in a few stores before hand. The Straw Market is very hot and smelly. and crowded. DS6 didn't want to walk anymore so I had to carry him as we maneuvered through the small aisles. We buy a few things. I buy an elephant carving and DS10 buys a dolphin. DW gets a couple of bags. DS6 is on a mission to buy a snake made of wood. We then head back to the ship. The Zuiderdam ship has pulled in as well, and it looks rather large with glass elevators that are over the ocean. We get back onto the ship and drop our things off at the cabin and head to lunch at Tritons. We are seated at a nice table for 4 and DS6 has his snake with him that all the servers just love. Harlan is our server and I get the Rueben sandwich and DW gets fish. The kids get chicken tenders and Mac and Cheese. We had some really good key lime pie for dessert. As we leave Tritons, Stitch is outside and DS6 gets his picture with Stitch, his favorite character (Which we bought later). We then head down to the cabin for a nap. It is 2p and we set the alarm for 4 pm.

When we wake up we head up to Deck 9 and the kids do some swimming. They flip back and forth between the Mickey and Goofy pools. Since our nap the Norwegian Dawn has left port. We go back down and get ready for our show and Dinner. We all went to the show and it was the Golden Mickeys. The show was very good. DS's recognized some of the kids on the red carpet which added tot he excitment. After the show DS6 went to make Goo (Flubber) at the Oceanneers club. DS10 went to the game room for a while. After goo was done we went to dinner. Dinner tonight is at Tritons. We check in and Ask for Kapoor, who is our Head Server. This is our first night on the regular rotation so He shows us to table 57. Our servers are Faisel and Ramsay. DW and I both order Cauliflower soup. And we both get another appetizer as well. I had the duck and DW gets the sirloin for our entrees, DW had cherries jubilee (Which was supposed to be flaming but weren't) and I can not for the life of me remember what I had. DS6 gets a Mickey Mouse Bar. . After Dinner it is time for DS10s group to make goo. It is raining tonight so the deck party gets rained out. DS6 and us go to the party in the Atrium. It is nice but I was dissapointed. I thought the party outside on the deck in the bahamas would have been nicer. DS10 Pages us and we pick him up and then head down to bed for the night. I watch Mulan on the TV.

Notes:
1.The straw market can be overwhelming. You can find alot of the stuff at the stores before the market at the lower end of the markets bargaining price.
2.Get up on deck early in the morning. The wind blowing the fresh air and with no one there it is so peaceful.
3.Even though there are so many people asking you to take their cab or carriage, a simple "No Thank You' suffices until the next one.
4.DO NOT MISS 'The Golden Mickeys' It is a great show.
5.We did not do any shore excursions in the Bahamas, since it was our first cruise. There was plenty to do on the ship.
