just boxed up my FE's for shipment.....the box weighs 10 pounds!!!
glad it will not be in my suitcase....have no idea how much this will cost to ship...

That's heavy. I don't think all my stuff put together will weigh half that amount. I've got lots of little things to put in my FEs. Might I suggest that you get it posted off sooner rather than later. I do a lot of International postage and sometimes things can take a while to reach their destination.

Just got a response to my question about washing machines on the main DCL forum. Washers are High Efficiency (HE) and you use your KTTW card to pay ($2 per wash and $2 per dry). Hope this info is useful.

well, may not be the fastest way but...

we are taking the Piccadilly line from terminal 3 to Hammersmith. from there transferring to district line...my understanding is there are no stairs...just walk across to another platform. then from district to Westminster. The Westminster station has elevators to street level. Now, whether we hail a cab or hoof it across the bridge to county hall has yet to be determined. it depends how exhausted we are.

Heathrow express and Heathrow connect will take you to Paddington. We didn't want to mess around with that...finding a cab or messing around with transferring to circle or district.

We will be staying there too!!! Finally, I know someone is staying there. We are also looking for transportation to from LHR, since from the hotel to Dover we will get DCL.

We are staying at the Hyde Park Hilton the night before the cruise. I think we'll go to Dover early and drop our luggage and walk into town.

Frontline Club within walking distance?

Yes, 2 blocks down. Directly across from the medical center with the memorial plaque under the window where penicillin was discovered. You may even find the plaque itself interesting considering it was one of the great medical discoveries in history.

Frontline Club faces the side street. I think it may just say Front Line on the front of the building (can't recall for certain). Really tall doors. My colleague had mentioned that he'd been trying to get in there for over a week or two. I had the concierge make a reservation for me around 3pm for two people. He got us a 7:30 pm seating. Nothing really fancy or spectacular, just a very nice english restaurant. It has a lot of interesting photography on the walls. I understand it's a club that champions independant journalism and a lot of journalists and photographers have contributed the art work.

Maybe about a mile away. I don't have too many recommendations. I'm not a London expert. I just know a few places around the areas I've stayed in for business or have specifically travelled to so I could scope it out (such as around the Holborn station).

There's a Marks and Spencer food shop where you can buy ready to eat pasta and salad meals and sandwiches, a McDonalds, a small supermarket and Harrods have their own cafe as well as the one in the main store. A little further into town there's a Hard Rock Cafe, infact it's the first ever one to open. Hope that helps

There's isn't a dress code for Harrods. I've been in loads of times in jeans and trainers, sometimes soaking wet and have never been asked to leave.

Well that news to me. I visit just about every January and like I say I've never been turned away. But then again it January so I'd definitely not be wearing swimwear or flip flops. Seriously though, so long as you're dressed sensibly then there isn't a problem, although they don't like you to have backpacks on your back you have to carry them at your side. Strange but true as I have a very small one which I take everywhere, it's more of a purse really and I was told to take it off my shoulder and carry it.
