July 5, 2011 - Mickey's WONDERful Alaskan Adventure

Which Disney parks have you been too and which is your favorite ride/attraction in each?

We have only been to WDW and our favorites are:

Magic Kingdom - Pirates of the Caribbean/Haunted Mansion

EPCOT - Test Track

Animal Kingdom - Kilimanjaro Safari

Since we are getting chattier and i see a couple new people have joined us I felt i should just put up a notice asking if anyone else wants to join the FE? Please let me know. I will need stateroom number, names would be nice, number and age of those in your party, where from, and if you are celebrating anything special. I also will need your email address to send you a copy of the final list at 30 days before the cruise so everyone has plenty of time to make or get their FE's done. Right now we have roughly 40 people in 14 staterooms.

Welcome all new comers.

Welcome all new comers.

Just double checking, is my family signed up for the FE? I think I did, but can't remember.

Also, I am getting very frustrated and don't know what to do about the hotel in Vancouver the night before...as well as parking....as well as when the Canada Place terminal opens. We have 3 options and all of them are super expensive.
What is everyone doing the night before the cruise and where in the love of Pete is everyone staying?

Is there such a thing as a moderately priced hotel near the port? Is everyone just biting the bullet and paying a fortune for hotel AND parking at the port? :scared1:
Thanks in advance

Yep you are on the list. 6 people and 2 staterooms.

We are staying at the Pan Pacific the night before. We are dealing with the high price though as I figured up the price of renting a car and parking and such versus staying right there and it was going to be pretty much the same in price so we decided to take the convience of being right at the pier versus having to drive there. We don't have any parking at the port so that is one expense we don't have to worry about.

We're staying at the Waterfront Marriot, booked it right through Disney. Booked everything through Disney this time for the insurance and peace of mind. Since I wasn't familiar with Vancouver, this made the most sense for us.

We're staying at the Pan Pacific as well. Since this is a once in a lifetime trip for we splurged and are staying right at the port. Plus since we are coming in a few days early it seemed like a great spot to tour from.

No parking for us though. We're booking a town car from the airport to the hotel and have booked Disney transportation from the ship to the airport.

We're also staying at the Pan Pacific. We booked a long time ago and got what I think is a good rate ($180) :thumbsup2. We don't need parking as we're taking a taxi from the airport.

Good morning my fellow Alaskan cruisers!

We sail in 9 weeks!

Doing the single digit dance! :dance3::dance3::dance3:

We are staying at the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown. We were lucky and booked months ago using our Marriott rewards points. We are parking at Vinci Parking at the port for a weekly rate of 161.00 CAD. We are actually flying into Seattle on June 29, doing a whirlwind tour of Mt. Reiner, Victoria, BC and Whistler, BC before we arrive in Vancouver. I guess I do not have too much to complain about since the price of shuttling the four of us (using other means) is approximately half the cost of the rental car and parking. The rental car gives us the freedom to explore at our own pace.

We are also staying at the Pan Pacific the night before the cruise.

Hi Everybody,

My family is staying the night before at the Fairmont Pacific Rim I guess they will take a taxi to the port the next am

I will be in Seattle with my best friend (who lives there) until the morning of our cruise. :scared1: She assures me that there will be no problem with me getting to Vancover the day of. I am meeting my husband (our 20 year anniversary) my dd and my MIL on the Wonder

Hiya, I'm Mark, WDWLVR's DH.. I usually just read, but today I have a good tidbit.

Hi Mark,
How exciting!! I saw that the Wonder left for the first Alaskan cruise today. We'll be on her before you know it.

Thanks for sharing,
Teresa

Loving the pictures I've been seeing from the first cruise. Can't wait until it is our turn to see it in person.

On one of the cruises we took in the past, one of the girls on the cruise made little green ribbons to attach to you lanyard. It was not very big, but allowed those of us on the boards to identify those we've been chatting with over the last months. If anyone is interested in this, I would be willing to take care of the ribbons. You would just need to PM me your name & address and how many you would need. It was really neat to see how many ribbons there actually were., and several times a crew member asked what they were for, or told us what they were for!
We also scheduled a couple of different times for meets, nothing really big, just a time on the first day and I think on one of the sea days for anyone who wanted to chat a few minutes. Everyone has their own plans, so sometimes meets don't work out very well, but the ribbons were a way to allow us to connect even if we hadn't made the meet.
Just a thought that came to me much too early on a day where I should have been able to sleep in - why i it the days you can sleep in, your eyes pop open at the crack of dawn, and you're mind is flying in 10 different directions? Let me know it anyone is interested, if not, no big deal.

This is terrible - i don't even know where we're staying in Vancouver - we're staying at the Fairmont, not the Marriot - have no idea where that came from!
Can you tell I need a vacation?

That sounds pretty neat. on our last cruise we all did some type of shirt up that had our group name on it. But i like the ribbon idea as that can be worn everyday versus a shirt that we wore once or two days.

I love the ideal of the green ribbon!!!

I don't know why, but for some strange reason I seem to be a thread stopper:confused3
