July 5, 2011 - Mickey's WONDERful Alaskan Adventure

For the new members of our cruise group I wanted to let you know that we have a site where I am putting together pictures of everyone so we can "meet" each other before our cruise. Send me (lkc103@yahoo.com) your picture and I will add them. Don't forget to include your screen name and the names of the people in your picture.

-Lisa

I love the site. Hopefully people will add their pics to the ones there. Is the Fish Extender list up to date? If so, a small correction. We are 4 adults in two staterooms. Got to get crackin' on my FE goodies!

Lisa,
Your ribbons will go out in tomorrow's mail, let me know if you don't get them in a few days.

Good morning my fellow Alaskan cruisers!

We sail in 7 weeks!

Any suggestions about binoculars? I do not want to spend a ton of cash, but I was looking at one of these: National Geographic All Weather Binoculars $54.95 or Compact Electric Zoom Binoculars $99.95, but did not know how well they worked. Do I really need to spend $250 on a pair of binoculars? Thanks!

We are just bringing some small pairs that we've picked up at Nascar races over the years. I would think the National Geographic ones would work well. I googled them and they look nice.

we did the Repo cruise and when we got off the ship to leave there was a man selling them in the terminal. He had a booth and there was a large selection. Didn't stop since we were getting off the ship. :sad2:but for those who forgot them...he might be there before each cruise to Alaska?

I did some consumer research and found some Pentax binoculars that was rated as well as $1000 binoculars, so for$150 on amazon I bought them. They are weather proof, fog proof, and have rain guards. I think we will be pleased but for that price we will definitely have to practice our sharing!

wow!!!! he will be turning 10 when he goes into 5th lol i turned 10 in january and im in 4th grade
thank you
btw this is our 2nd alaskan cruise(1st not disney) and alaska is soooooo cool:eek::thumbsup2

My son also turned 10 in January & is in the 4th grade. His birthday is the 16th.

Since you've been to Alaska before, could you recommend some excursions for my son and my 9 year old nephew?

he's been doing pretty good. they made him skip his last chemo because of his cell counts being low. he just said the other day the way his schedule is he will have his chemo about one week before we leave and wont have any more till we get back so that works well. Now if we can just keep him to keep his fingers away from his power tools. :lmao::worship::rotfl2: he has managed to cut one finger in his table saw and a week later ran a finger from his other hand in a planer. so hes trying to behave so he has both hands for fishing on the trip now. :thumbsup2 thanks for asking.

Tell him not to worry about the missed chemo. I had that a couple of times during my treatments. By all means tell him to stay away from the power tools. :thumbsup2

ok id say
1: dog sledding by helicopter coasts ALOT of $$$$$$$$$$ but well worth it and
2: panning for gold with a train ride at the end you get to keep the gold you have found ( i think they charge u if u want it in necklace
there is more but these were my favs

We were booked GTY and received our room assigments today. We were upgated

When you get a chance I do need a stateroom number for the FE lsit for you. You can pm it if you don't want to list it here. either way.

Other then i just added pmotto2222 to the list and i did make the correction for the 2 staterooms for you.

Ok we are almost to the 30 day mark so If anyone else wants to be added to our FE list that is not on it please decide soon and let me know. I only have email addresses for pmotto2222,socaldclfan,cruisenow01, purtypat1, wdwlvr. I will need email address from the rest of you as I will need to send the FE list as an attached excel spreadsheet.

others i have listed but have not said if they want to be included or not yet.

Doinitagain, Lynda Silk, Caseyk20, thistle, stoneham92 i will remove these from the final list unless i hear from you before the 30 day mark.

so far we have 15 staterooms with a total of 49 people. so looks like a pretty good FE going.

So now i am off to mow my hay field before we get our next round of week long rain.
