I look forward to meet you...hope you manage to book it:thumbsup2

Well, temptation got too much today, and I caved in and booked this cruise also ...even though we are due in Orlando in 33 days and will be doing the Eastern on 13th February too ! :goodvibes

DH can't get the time off so I'll be accompanied by a friend (another Judy ...but slightly older !) and my two kids Joe, who'll be 13 and Vyrnwy who'll be 9.

This cruise will be (another) surprise for the kids .....and yet another, when DH turns up to meet us in Barcelona at the end !

Look forward to meeting you all .....and especially some of the names I'm already so familiar with from the British version of The Dis (The Dibb) :)

Hi All,

I did pop into this thread a few months back saying we were thinking of booking this cruise - well we did and then just before Christmas I got a great cat 12 rate so we downgraded and saved a whole lot of dollars (which will be the deposit for an onboard booking and a big chunk of spending money!

Happy new year to you all,
Mel

Hi Lisa

Happy New Year 2010:cool1::cool1:

Ian, Olivia and I went out to our friend's new house party.... Oh I was hangover yesterday and had been sick all day yesterday... Oh never again!!! I don't know if I ate lamb as there was a lovely buffet... Lamb make me sick as I cannot eat lamb... Not sure if it was or too many drinks??

Today I feel much better and Ian got the sore throat and he said he felt his throat crack lol:rotfl:

I cannot think which is my favourite Disney film... As all film seem good...

Today I am remove all Xmas decorations:sad1: I cannot believe it all over now...

Roll to July for our Disney cruise :dance3::dance3:

Scottishwee35

Glad to hear your are feeling better, I felt terrible all day yesterday too, but I did not even drink.

Looks like we have lots of people booking this cruise in the last little while. Someone mentioned something about spending lots of time on the ship, but I guess that makes sense for those of you who are on that side of the ocean, the lure for you will be the Disney experience, where, for those from the other side of the Atlantic it will be more of an interest in the ports, it should make for a great mix of people.

Do any of the new additions have young girls 7 or 8? My oldest will have no problems going to the kids club, but my youngest was saying she does not like the clubs because she does not have a friend, so I am hoping someone here will have a girl that age looking for a friend also.

It is really cold here today, I think it is about -25c with the wind chill, our dog does not even want to go out.

You never know with kids who they are going to get along with. My oldest also is very good with younger kids, and sometimes prefers to play with them.

They have spent too much time together this Christmas break and they are getting on each others nerves:eek:. This trip will be 12 days in total and that is the longest that we have been gone without my husband to play referee which he does much better than I do, so I am hoping that breaks in the kids club will help with too much togetherness.:headache:

Still cold today and really windy.

Lisa

Ok, I have just spent hours reading this whole thread! You lot can talk some can't you?!!!:confused3

So, no FE list really ... started but not confirmed by what I can gather. The names I took down were:
mkmommy plus dd9 and dd7
DLRPfan plus dw and dd15
Scottishwee plus dh, ds13 and dd10.

Is it a goer? I'm happy to join the group too .. there'll be me (Joa), my mum (Jenny) and hopefully my friend Tina in a GTY Cat 12.

I saw someone mention DCL transfers from airport to port and that it was $35 per person. Book it!!! The Heathrow/Gatwick Express to London is about £12 on its own, plus tube fares, plus train to Dover from Victoria. You'd be looking at about £30-40 each!! Just book the DCL transfers .. much easier especially with luggage.:thumbsup2

For those who are booking Easyjet from BCN to London/elsewhere ... add Speedy Boarding to your booking or you'll have to scrummage with everyone else for a seat! It's about £8 I think. Also, for those who have never travelled with EJ before, don't forget that checking in bags costs extra and is much cheaper to do online rather than at the airport. All drinks/snacks onboard are extra so make sure you've been to the shops beforehand!

Hope that helps a little.:)

I did volunteer to organize the FE exchange amd still will if there is interst, but I was waiting till closer as so many people seem to be changing plans on the summer cruises.

I did check the price of DCL transfers and they are $115 per person, that is London to Dover and Barcelona to the airport.

Hello

weather here still have heavy snowing and very cold

newspaper said worst cold in UK for 30 years...

I am going to work at 2 pm and I am not looking forward to also too cold to go out :rotfl:

Kids are here and they are going back to school on Wednesday and I wonder about the weather?

Scottishwee35

Welcome Lin .. looks like we could be having a late British invasion for this trip!!

mkmommy .. good idea to wait for the FE list. I won't be changing my plans though, not at this price!!:thumbsup2

Our weather today is just a bit chilly. The fox who lives in my garden is snugged up against the fence in the small bit of sunshine that seems to be around. :)

It's just me and my mum going on this cruise now by the way .. my friend Tina unfortunately couldn't get the time off work:mad:

Another Brit joining the Cruise! :yay:
After seeing many mentions of it on another forum last night DH and i went from being slightly interested to booking it all in about 30 minutes! lol There will be Me Veronica 38, DH Andy 39 and DD Beth 13! Our friends were hoping to join us, but unfortunately they now can't make it!
This will be our first Cruise so we're total novices and i really haven't got a clue where to start with the planning or questions!

Hi Vron, welcome aboard! Where abouts in Essex are you? I lived in Colchester until a couple of years ago when I hopped across the border into Suffolk but I still work in Colchester.

I am sure you will have a great time cruising, this will be our third cruise with Disney, we did a 3 night as part of a Florida trip, a 7 night last summer also tied into a trip to Orlando and now an 8 night - spot the trend, it is so good you always want longer next time!

Good luck for tomorrow.

We're going to do Cadiz and Lisbon on our own. Cadiz is small enough to walk around. Lisbon has one of those hop on hop off buses. As before we are definately doing Gib on our own. We're going to the war grave of DH uncle, shot down over Gib.

Palo is FAB. not done Brunch though. Read lots of reviews. Is it really that good????? WE do fancy trying it this trip.

Well its finally stopped snowing here. More due tomorrow, thursday, friday, saturday. ........LOL AT least the cat still wants to go out. Not quite -25c.

We love Palo, we did the brunch last cruise (last Aug) for the first time. My DH LOVED it, I thought it was good but like dinner better. There was a LOT of seafood so if you like that it is a huge plus point, also a good selection of cheeses and other buffet items. There are hot cooked to order items as well which are nice. We will do it again this time if we can get a reservation but I would choose dinner over brunch if I HAD to choose - I am in the minority I think though.
