July 30, 2010 Mickey's Adventures England to Espana Cruise

Hope everyone had a great Christmas, we really enjoyed it this year.:thumbsup2

I got an Ipod touch and it is great, but I made the mistake of showing it to my oldest and she loves it. I found a great Disney App so it may be a battle over who gets it on planes and waiting for appointments.

It is cold here, but I did bundle up and went to see the Olympic tourch when it was in town yesterday morning on its way to Vancounver. I will post pictures later, it was very touching to see. I did ask my girls if they wanted to come as it was at 7:00 AM and they both said no, they want to go to the actual games:rotfl2 to see it. I cannot believe there is only 3 more days till 2010, I still remember all the hupla of 2000 and it seems like just yesterday.

No excursions yet, I want to plan.:surfweb:

Good Morning,

I think that is awesome that you got to see the Olympic Torch. We are big fans of both the winter and summer games. I try to plan a theme dinner during opening ceremonies that represents the country hosting the event. Summer games in China made that easy. I will have to be more creative for Vancouver, BC.

Working in Emergency Services, New Years Eve night Dec. 31, 1999, we were required to work all night waiting for the world to come to an end. Needless to say, everything went well that long night. It is hard to believe time as gone by so fast.

Looking forward to booking the shore excurions in 2010!!!

ScubaMickey

Good late afternoon here:goodvibes

Can I ask you a question? where do you live?

Working in Emergency Services - are you nurse or dr?? no what kind of your job?

You wouldn't believe it that my 5 friend and I went to New York last month for 5 nights well on 4th day my sister in law was tripped over at Rockfeller and she thought she had the bruise on her foot...

Well she emailed me this morning that (she is nurse and working late shift) and she said her foot still very painful and she decided to see dr at hospital then she had the xray and dr told her that she had broke her foot:scared1::scared1: She got signed off work for 2 weeks now... as she should be working over New Year but she got plaster on her foot!!! Typical...she should sue New York otherwise we will be back to NY:thumbsup2:rotfl2:

Well don't work too hard on 31 Dec and hope it is quiet for you...

all the best for 2010

We are locking in the details of getting to and from Europe.

I have never been to Europe and am a little nervous about how to get from Heathrow to Dover (we will arrive on the 30th at 8:30am) ... I have read about the process to take the train and the bus and it seems like the DCL Transfer would be a lot easier (although more expensive). Thoughts? We are going to taxi/bus/train it at the end of the cruise, but I think I would like to start off easy.

We are going to fly round trip through Heathrow - so we are looking at options to get from Barcelona back to London. Does anyone have experience with EasyJet?

Also, any hotel recommendations for 1 night in Barcelona and 1 night in London?

I can't wait for DCL to release details of ports, stateroom assignments, etc.!!

If I was arriving the morning of the cruise I would take DCL transfers from the airport, less stress and less handling of the luggage(pick up at the airport and drop off on the DCL shuttle), and I don' t think it is that much more expensive than taking the bus or train. I figure the train to Dover and then taxi to port is going to be about 20 pounds per person which is probably close to $35 US.

We are arriving on July 28 staying at the Premier Inn Victoria Station in London 1 night and then the Premier Inn Dover July 29. Staying 1 night post cruise in Barcelona have a couple of hotels booked but not really happy with any of them, so I need to look into that again, I think Hotel Denit is my favorite that I have looked at so far.

We are using Disney for our flights, transfers and pre-cruise hotel booking. It is more expensive but I don't trust doing it on my own. I also like the security that if something goes wrong, Disney will guarantee that I make the ship!!!:rolleyes1

Hi

Are you sure to flight and arrive on 30th? I am like more nervous if it was me as what if the flight delay or bad traffic in London? London is very busy city...

I hope everything go smooth for you and hope you manage to get in Dover before late afternoon.. as it is 2 half hours from London to Dover...

Think we may be joining you for this one! Not sure exactly who yet but the whole party will be from England.

We live 40 minutes from Dover and 40 minutes from Gatwick so nice and easy for us thankfully!

Will let you know once we have definite names and bookings. Hoping to book on Monday with DU. Once I've done that I'll catch up with this whole thread!

Happy New Year to everyone!!

Happy 2010 :banana::cool1::banana:

We ended up staying home as we all had sore throats. I was looking forward to going out as our friends were on the Wonder a couple of weeks ago and I wanted to see pictures. as if I need some incentive to get more excited aboutt this trip;)

Stayed home and watched Mary Poppins, my favorite Disney movie instead. What is everyone elses favorite Disney Movie? My youngest said High School Musical 3, and my oldest said Bolt.

Youngest daughter also spent all night pulling out a lose tooth, so the tooth fairy paid a visit last night. I am so glad it is out as I hate lose teeth, I could never be a dentist.

We are getting close to the 200 day mark, I am starting to feel so unprepared.

Living so close to Europe, we've luckily already been to most of the destinations .. all apart from Gibraltar in fact. We'll just stay on the ship and enjoy the Bahama Mamas!!

For the price that we'll be paying, we would be hard pressed to find an all inclusive deal to the Canaries for a week. Bargain of the century for us as we have no transatlantic flights to buy!! :)

:cheer2: Happy 2010 to everyone! :cheer2:

See you all in July THIS year
