July 28, 2012- MAGIC- NYC TO BAHAMAS

FE numbers...
13 cabins, 15 girls, 8 boys, 14 women, 7 men and a patridge in a pear tree.

:lmao:

This quote reminds me of the beginning of Home Alone, where they're counting all the kids in the vans and headed off to the airport!

I can't wait to do the FE! This will be our first time, and we are so excited!

Wendy

On facebook, there was a discussion about having a DISmeet on the first day at 3:00 in the Promenade Lounge, right before the muster drill.

Some people had discussed the first day being a little crazy, but others thought that on day 2 people may not want to stop their fun/activities to have a meet.

Is this still the day/time/place?

Wendy

I haven't seen anything official, but on other cruises that is the usual time but again it is subject to change.

We are soooooooooooooooooooo excited, start packing this weekend. :yay::yay:

I received my cruise documents too...Its says that boarding starts at 1pm but I have heard you can board earlier like 11am...Does anyone know how the whole boarding process works...I have 3 kids with me 10, 7, 6 and dont want to wait for hours to board the boat...

Any info would be great so I can figure out when I will arrive at the terminal...In the process of booking transportation to the cruise terminal on the 28th..

So jealous of people like you who are able to pack a month or so out! I'm always running a load of wash at the last minute, or needing to go to the store for something. Maybe I should pretend we are leaving next week and just start packing!

Once the ship is cleared from the previous cruise, they can start boarding. They probably say 1pm to be on the safe side, but it looks like it's been closer to 11:30am. Your boarding group number is based on your port arrival time. Did you do your online check in and select an arrival time? The earliest time is 11, so I wouldn't plan to get there much earlier than that. Once boarding is well underway (12:30-1ish), it seems like there isn't too much wait from checking in to being able to board. I would plan on having something for your kids to do... Handheld video game, coloring, etc...

I read a trip report that explained the process in NYC... I will try and find the link.

I am there doing laundry at the last minute too. My issue is that I hang a lot of my clothes so I have to plan for 'air drying time' as well. If you see someone with a pair of wet pants on a hanger at the terminal , that is probably me :rotfl:

My dd wants to wear one of her Princess Dresses to board the boat. Will she be out of place? I would imagine this is common.

Thanks and sooooo cannot wait.

I do not know how common it is for girls to wear a princess costume to board the ship. But even if she will be 'out of place' I think it would be adorable and no one would comment negatively about it. Just do it and enjoy!! :cheer2:

Thank you! I needed that reminder:flower3:

Stuff laying in the back of the car near the sunny window so it can dry on the way... I don't know what you're talking about :rolleyes1

LOL! I never pack until the night before! Although by now I've pretty much got it down to a science! ;)

But my mom and I always joked that we could be ready to go anywhere at anytime. You want to leave for Europe in 15 minutes? Count me in! I'll just throw as much as I can in a bag. If I forgot it, I'll go without or buy it when I get there! LOL! :rotfl2:

Can't wait!

That is my mantra as well!!

If you get stuck the on board self serve laundry facility is excellent, big washing machines and huge tumble dryers, since we started using (well since my wife has insisted I use the laundry facilities) we ave reduced the clothes we pack by half.

Thanks for the info... as much as I don't want to...I have a feeling I will be using the laundry facilities at least once.
