Hi, guess i should introduce myself - I am Rebecca and I will be on the cruise with my daughter Tamba who will be celebrating her 10th birthday. We are on the fish extender list and are going to get started on the gifts. Our first time on a disney cruise so we are very, very excited!

I am having a blast shopping for the FE! I could have fun shopping for garbage bags- my husband says it's an illness. I dont care

Sounds like we are birds of a feather...
Shopping is a hobby of mine...I am always on the hunt for a good deal. I have invented a new hobby too.. I call it returning. That is when you plan for a about 40 young girls for the FE and turns out there is only 15!

This is my first Disney cruise as well. Been planing since April 6 since opening day of the NYC cruises!!!

Has anyone organized a meeting for our cruise group? I know they chatted on the facebook page about possibly doing something day 2-?

Alrighty everyone, the list is 'locked', but still viewable. The list is now organized based on room number. I also divided the group into 'two' and assigned 'days'. I kept families sailing together in different cabins on the same days, other than that it was random. Blue is July 28-31; yellow Aug 1-4 6 weeks today!!!!

I hope that any planning is done here and not on facebook because if there is a get together and someone is not on facebook they will not know about it. If someone is planning something please post it here as well. Thanks

There was talk about a meet, but nothing set. The only consensus was not to have one on the first day since many of us are DCL newbies and want to get the 'lay of the boat' first. If I see something on Facebook, I will make sure to post here

I have read a couple trip reports re: the May 25 sailing. (GOOD INFO!)
One person stated that some people signed up for FE but never gave gifts. I don't know how true that is, but I just want to make sure everyone is on the same page. I assumed it was a given, but if not I will say it anyway... If you are on the list, you are expected to give a little something, not just receive!!!

Along those lines, I have been going back and forth on how to 'distribute' the gifts (any day you want; assigned days, etc). I have decided in order to keep the Magic going all cruise long to assign days. I don't want to make things too rigid since this is all for fun, so I will divide the cruise in half, as well as the list. Therefore, everyone will have a period of 3-4 days to deliver their items, either the first or the last.
I know not everyone will be happy with this, but I was reading other posts, I feel this will be the best. If someone has an issue with this, please feel free to let me know.

I think that this is great way to keep it going and THANK YOU for organizing this for everyone.

So challenging, being computer-less at the moment! Apparently, my last post did not enter. I had said that dd2 had just finished school, except for her exams. She has summeritis and I can't wait for it to be over, either.

I've been loving all the reports coming in from the NYC cruises. (it's about time... I was about to book an Alaskan cruise based on some of those reports lol.)

Allison, I like the idea of splitting the fe list in half for distribution... Much less rigid than assigning exact days, but still spreads out the magic.

Just a thought in case it applies to someone... If your gifts are specific to pirate night or castaway cay, make sure you are in the appropriate half of the list. Otherwise, I'm sure you can switch with someone. On our last cruise, one of our gifts was a postcard for us to mail ourselves home from castaway cay, and another was a beachy picture frame with a note to take a family picture at the beach. I also recall my girls getting bandannas and fake tattoos for pirate night. You wouldn't want things like that to arrive after the fact.

That's the number of rooms that shows now on the FE list. Did we lose another room? I had a few boys on my list that aren't on there now. Just want to make sure they don't get skipped if they want to participate!

I am at work and can't access google documents b/c of a firewall, but I can double check when I get home. But 13 does sound correct.

Bonhonte (sp?) had to cancel the cruise and she had two teenage boys traveling with her, so that should account for the difference you are seeing.

Did they come 1st class mail? Do you need to sign for them? I have mine going to my office so the kids don't find out but I won't be there all week when the mail comes. It just goes into our mail box.

Just in regular mail. Mine came yesterday but my parents haven't arrived yet so no worries if you don't have them yet.
