Europe 2010 sounds like plan!!!
Wyoming was wonderful. We checked into the Wort Hotel in Jackson Hole, in the middle of town and accessible to everything. It was the fanciest of the three hotels. We were in 3 different hotels, all first rate (except in Yellowstone, the Lodge looked like a dorm room - it was clean and neat but sparse. There was no phone and no tv in keeping with ruralness of the area - right

) They did have cell service, though. Brooks Lake lodge in Dubois was real wild west. It had no cell service, no tv and no phone in the room. They did have 2 computers hooked to satellite in the main room that you could use for free to acess email, internet. This was our favorite hotel. When we checked into our room, they didn't give us a key. No one locked their doors! We stayed in the main lodge and some of us stayed in free standing cabins on the property. It was very informal. Let's put it this way, the part time bartender/cowboy/driver/etc. took your first name to start a tab for you and wrote it on a pad.
Meals - all but two were included. A dinner in Jackson (the guides made great suggestions and there were plenty of places to eat -upscale or fast food) and a dinner in Yellowstone. There aren't many choices in Yellowstone at all as you are really secluded. What the guides surprised us with is that they had reservations at the fancy restaurant on the property for everyone. They said it is impossible to get ressies on such short notice, but Disney magic prevailed! I guess they can't get them every time so they didn't tell us until that afternoon. Even though we paid out of pocket, everyone on the tour ate there. Brooks Lake Lodge had its own dining room and we all ate together at the same time.
Breakfast was always a buffet in the hotels. We had lunch at the hotels, a playhouse, at the upscale Yellowstone Lake Inn, and had a picnic boxed lunch (really good) at one stop along the way. Overall, the food was great. I'm a fussy eater and did not appreciate the local choices of elk, bison, and wild boar (no kidding) but I did not starve. I could always eat what the kids were having (but didn't need to). In the Wort and Yellowstone, Disney had a separate dining room just for us. In the Lodge, after the first night, there was only an older couple who were guests, and us, so they joined us. With 30 people on the tour, we filled the room.
I can't praise this trip enough. We would love to do the Alaska trip but it is only offered in the summer and we have Tortola planned. Yosemite is also on the list (it starts in Apr.) but we're in no rush. If all the ABD are this wonderful (and they just added more places today), they are going to be around a while. If you have the opportunity to go, you won't be sorry.
