Thanks JoAnn - you put a lady out of her misery here! :rotfl2:

Maybe I am a little :jester: - what do you all think?

Penny - just wanted to forewarn you - if you wanted to climb the Leaning Tower of Pisa - you will need to make reservations. This will be hard since no one knows for sure what time DCL will be there. Many of us that want to climb have gone private and had scheduled our times. I am scheduled for 3:40 pm on Saturday Aug 4 which is the time we are supposed to be there.

So keep that in mind. Also, apparently, if you want to see the state of David in Florence (?) you might want to see about getting ressies there although I've been told that they also have a free viewing window that is open to the public.

your right - lots of interesting info on this boards and blogs!

Thanks for the heads up on the Leaning Tower of Pisa, my daughter is special needs and I don't think she could climb all the way up the tower so I don't think that's an option for us, she would be upset if her brothers went up and she didn't. That's also why I'm concerned about the long bus ride, I'm not sure how she will do on that....so many decisions to make.:confused3

Oh that's right, now I remember..........DON'T FEEL GUILTY! You deserve this break and it sounds like you have wonderful plans with them for later! I was just curious how you could go on the winetasting. I would love to do it, but
I can't b/c of my girls!

It's only a half day tour do you think they would be OK in the oceaneer club/lab? ( I can never remember which one is which)

I don't think that would work b/c they're 23 (by the trip), 20 & 17!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I would love to do the winetasting but can't because we have the kids.

We've done the same thing. Everytime we read another trip report or blog we begin to rethink our excursions. Now we are considering a private in Naples and we had the tour of Madellena but then switched to Coda Cavallo beach. But since then there have been incredible reviews of the Madellena tour. But there aren't any openings, so we may change to LaCinta beach. Coda Cavallo didn't get very good reviews and it's much more expensive.

This board gives so much information it can be hard to sort through it all.

Sandra

Hey all - we did the name change on Friday. Since we had already booked our DS to do all the excursions with the older 2 DD and her BFF, we had to remove DS's name and insert DD's HSF. DCL told us that we would have to rebook all the excursions. I was a little TO's since I knew that several of the excursions would be sold out.

I called DCL and got the standard reply. Once you do a name chance you have to go back and save all your excursions. Well to make a long story short, I finally got a hold of a WONDERFUL agent who was able to book almost all of the exursions that Andrew had to the replacement. inus of course - Palermo and the train/tram one. Well, I told DH who had replaced me after I got a :headache: from being on the phone with DCL for over 2 hrs and I told DH - tell them not to worry about those - I was more worried about the Rome excursion. I have a private scheduled for Palermo, Naples and Pis/Florence so no big deal here. But DCL was a doll for getting this done. Course I had to insist on speaking with a supervisor once I got the standard reply - we can't do this - which I knew they could because of these boards and because they had already done this one time with one excursions I booked for DS instead of DD14. A supervisor took care of it for me.

So the morale of the story? Make sure that you always ask if to speak to a supervisor if you get the "Sorry - we can't do that" reply.

Yeah - I assisted - who got it?

For a second I got this evil mental image of me getting another - and I didn't want it.

Now to see who got it.
