Laura, I'm sorry to hear about your situation today. DS15 has been at his father's this weekend and won't answer the phone or return my calls. I haven't heard from him since Thursday when I dropped him off. It hurts to have him cut me off or to have my family ask why he's not here to visit relatives from out of town. But I have to put up a good front and not let anyone see that bothers me. Gloria Gaynor is sounding pretty good right about now.

Sandra

Laura and Sandra, I'm sorry to hear about the boys...you will survive and they will come to their senses....put the music on and sing along at the top of your lungs and dance....this too shall pass. :grouphug:

LaSpezia

We are doing the Wine tasting and Sarzana excurison through DCL and watching the movie shows a lot of the area we will be driving through. We just couldn't sit on a bus for 2 1/2 hours each way to see Florence.

Sandra
I guess you're not bringing the kids? I think we've booked a beach but I'm not sure about that idea. I don't think we're up for another long bus ride after Rome.:confused3

I say, put on the music and dance!! Good Night!

:tinker: giving :grouphug: Boys are funny creatures aren't they? :sad1:

:dancer: :dancer: :dancer:

Guess who I caught laughing at me dance?

Thanks, I had 3 brothers growing up and now I know what my mother meant when she said she wouldn't have survived without having a daughter (me) around. She survived as did all three brothers, two of whom have a sons who are giving them at least as much trouble as they gave to my parents growing up so I guess it just keeps going around and around.

I'm signed up for the Florence trip but I'm worried about the long bus rides too. I may have to rethink that trip, just when I think I'm finally getting the excursions finished I start to find out more info and now I'm back at square one. Thank goodness for this board , it has been a wealth of useful information. I can't imagine what I would have done without some of the tips I've gotten here. :grouphug: to everyone!

I agree, I'm planning to review my excursions and based on what I've been reading on the blogs.......I'm probably going to change some things around (if they're available)

Penny - just wanted to forewarn you - if you wanted to climb the Leaning Tower of Pisa - you will need to make reservations. This will be hard since no one knows for sure what time DCL will be there. Many of us that want to climb have gone private and had scheduled our times. I am scheduled for 3:40 pm on Saturday Aug 4 which is the time we are supposed to be there.

So keep that in mind. Also, apparently, if you want to see the state of David in Florence (?) you might want to see about getting ressies there although I've been told that they also have a free viewing window that is open to the public.

your right - lots of interesting info on this boards and blogs!

JoAnn,
No we're not bringing the kids. I feel very guilty about not taking them. DS15isn't interested. He goes to a 6 week summer camp at a local college and he wouldn't miss it for anything in the world. DD13 is not very happy about being left behind she'll be staying with my mom and dad.

We are giving them a 7 night Royal Caribbean Western Caribbean cruise for Christmas. We'll be going on Feb. vacation next year.

I"ve heard the beaches in that area are incredible. I remember reading about one of them on a blog or trip report.

Sandra - we will have to commiserate together on an excursion or have a soda sometime - they say misery loves company. But if we get too down - we can always :dancer: onboard.

 :dance3: :cheer2:

Goodnight everyone, I'm off to bed...it's been a long weekend and I'm tired.
Sleep tight everyone, don't let the bed bugs bite.

I've been trying to get caught up on the cruise blogs and I noticed that the allears site has some recent additions:

http://allearsnet.com/cruise/medcruise/medcruiseinfo.htm
Thank you. This is some really good info.

:lmao:

Wait - I just replied Laura and I thought you were talking about a tag I got not too long ago. I just got a new one.

Too funny.:goodvibes I like it.
This one is funny. :rotfl:

Hey everyone.......we're closing in on one month to showtime!!!!!!!:cool1:

We leave a month from tomorrow :cool1:
And we leave a month from today!! :cool1:  :dance3:
Oh wait -- it's really :scared1:

Honestly, it will take more than a week for me to clean THIS house!!:confused3
but doesn't take too long to get a pirate pirate:

The most hated words on the dis boards:
This forum requires that you wait 40 seconds between posts. Please try again in 2 seconds
:lmao: (You know, I don't have that 40 second problem :)

Me either - hopefully - after staying up almost all night on Friday for the 10K, we were invited to an impromptu poker party last night that went to the wee hrs of this am - 6 am! :scared: I finally woke up at 1 after getting to bed at 6:30. But right now my eyes are like sandpaper. Wondering what time I should go to be tonight.
Wow, sounds like you had a heck of a weekend. Good for you!

I added a line!
:rotfl2:

:wave2: Leslie - yeah - I managed to nab the 10,000....ummm... with help from a couple of people on this thread, Lynn and MJ. It was funny, I was in bed but DH was making some loud ruckus and I couldn't go to sleep. And when I would be on the verge of falling into the deep black abyss of netherworld sleep, he'd snort and put me on the edge again. So I jumped on to see where in the world it was - that night and the next morning - the boards were slow. 2 pages in over 24 hrs. Guess some people have lives other than the DIS! :rotfl2:

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I thought she was talking about running a 10K race. Can I join you in the hole?
Sandra
OMgosh - I was there and I thought the same thing!! I was thinking, Wow, Laura ran a 10K, too!? :lmao:

Now that's a picture I have in my head!:lmao:
Do you think we could put it on a Tshirt :rotfl2:

He was a lot easier to handle 15 years ago, that's for sure. I'm not loving these teenage years AT ALL!!!!!

Sandra

Yup ::yes:: I can relate!

Sandra,
Have your passports, credit card, airline reservations all in front of you when you sit down to do the online registration. It took me about 20-25 minutes to do it all.
You guys have to remember I live on a TINY island in the Caribbean....beautiful and peaceful...but NO Walmart..which is too bad.
:beach:
I think that the trade-off is still worth it. :)

Laura :grouphug: I know it is tough, and I know it hurts. My ds is 19, and is living w/his dad in San Diego while he goes to college. My phone calls go unanswered & I pay his phone bill! I won't even go into Mothers Day w/both my kids, but let it suffice to say that next year I will make plans to go someplace else by myself and treat me, and I know I'll enjoy the day more. :) Kids can be rather unthinking that way. Now my ds is home and he won't return his father's calls (I bug him to do so cuz I know how it feels). However, it is really pleasant with him here. So, I dunno.

Oh that's right, now I remember..........DON'T FEEL GUILTY! You deserve this break and it sounds like you have wonderful plans with them for later! I was just curious how you could go on the winetasting. I would love to do it, but
I can't b/c of my girls!

Ok will this push it to the next page?

Sometimes it sarks being obsessive about things.

We've done the same thing. Everytime we read another trip report or blog we begin to rethink our excursions. Now we are considering a private in Naples and we had the tour of Madellena but then switched to Coda Cavallo beach. But since then there have been incredible reviews of the Madellena tour. But there aren't any openings, so we may change to LaCinta beach. Coda Cavallo didn't get very good reviews and it's much more expensive.

This board gives so much information it can be hard to sort through it all.
