OK,

So here's a question...

What is a Fish Extender??

We are fortunate in the fact that the place I work gets Euro's in daily so I had them save them up for a week and grabbed 600 euros the other day. What do you all think, is that enough? need more?

A fish extender is something (usually like a hanging wall organizer with pockets) hung on the fish just outside your room . . . it's used as a way to receive notes and small gifts from others you have met on the Dis.

As for the money, it really depends on how much you are doing off the ship -- if you are mainly doing DCL excursions, 600 euros sounds like quite a bit. You can always get more euros there using an ATM, though.

Hi Maryann, you are definitely a Castaway Club member on your second cruise, whether you have your card or not. Sallie should check with her TA or DCL if she booked directly to be sure that they have noted her previous cruise. She can also call DCL and get her actual CC number.

Thanks Julie!

That's great news for you Sallie!!! Julie's correct. If DCL doesn't have your first cruise linked, then you won't get the CC gift in your stateroom. It's worth the call.

Maryann

OK Gang,

Here goes... wish we'd found this site and forum about 12 months ago but we didn't.

Our 3rd Disney Cruise and we are very excited about this one. We've gone through the first few pages of this thread but it's simply overwhelming at this point. We'd like to meet some of you folks on the cruise, wondering if anyone is going to Paris after the cruise for a few days. Would like to "fit" in with color schemes of DIS members etc...

Barcelona Pre-Cruise - Hesperia Presidente

Sallie,

I was thinking about our discussion about the Castaway Club. I'm trying to remember but I think we got a cabin gift on our second cruise, so maybe you are Castaway Club members on the second cruise.

Anyone know? Sallie didn't get her Castaway Club cards yet, she's cruised with DCL once before. I thought I got them after the second DCL cruise. Are you considered Castaway Club members on the second cruise?

Maryann

You are a Castaway Club member after your first cruise. We received a gift on our 2nd cruise and were invited to the Castaway Club reception.

Sandra

Congrats on the pirate: Joanne.

This week....
Procrastinate...

Miss a few more pirates by just one....
Procrastinate some more...

Yeah, that sounds about right.

We are fortunate in the fact that the place I work gets Euro's in daily so I had them save them up for a week and grabbed 600 euros the other day. What do you all think, is that enough? need more?

I can see it now...

You stroll into work, through a beautifully decorated lobby decorated with plush sofas, well kept plants, and scattered piles of money lying around. After quickly glancing around and noticing mostly dollars, pounds, and a surprisingly large amount of Albanian Lek, you turn to the receptionist and ask "you wouldn't have any Euro lying around".

Without interupting her phone conversation she gestures to a dusty corner with colorful fluttering paper that you had originally mistaken for a butterfly cage. Sure enough, it's Euros in any denomination you can imagine. You grab 600 or so, not wanting to be greedy, then head to your second floor office where you work as a ....

Seriously - I want your job ;)

P.S. Welcome!!!

Has anyone read anything that says when the Castaway Club reception is held on the 11 nite cruise? I"m trying to get our calendar set and that so far is an unknown.

We just read that the 3 wine tastings are each for a different country, Italy,
Spain and FRance. That changes our schedule a bit but we'll work it in.

FOR those of you who haven't been to Palo yet, you are in for an incredible experience. THe food is nothing short of amazing and the service is wonderful. WE haven't been to the private dining room yet but have been to Palo several times. This will be the first time we've gone with a group. IT's usually just the two of us. So this will be different. We're looking forward to it. It looks like our group will have a great time.

That list works for me too - and another great read by Dan!!

MaryJo, do you know if anyone is keeping track of who is going to be participating in the Fish Extender exchange?

I'm trying to arrange for a small gift but don't want to be short or have too much extra to bring with us since there is a limit to the luggage allowed.

I would be interested in keeping track if no one is.

I've walked the Boston 1/2 marathon twice for charity. It's a lot of fun!
But I'm so out of shape right now I'm wondering if I'll make it around the ship:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

maybe we can "roll around" it together? Although, I have seen your picture, you look quite thin to me!

Alright - I've got stuff to do - I'll ketchup tomorrow.

Why are you using CDs if doing it on iTunes? I don't understand - although my husband and kids are the iTunes gurus in our house...

I am uploading my books on tape that I already bought onto my ipod. I need to put them into my iTunes library to then place them in my ipod for the weeks that I will be gone. I am an avid ready and can easily "read" several books - so as to conserve weight - I'm trying this route to see how it goes. But the books I already had - when I put them into the library - didn't download with the info. On some CD's all you have to do is upload and the tracks/chapters are automatically there. On these 3 there is nothing but Track 1, 2 3, etc. For each CD. This particular book which I love the author - Stephen White, has 10 CD's - with an average track record of 99 on each CD. Meaning I have to input the name, author name, cd name, etc or else I will have 10 cd's with track 1 info on them and not way to distinguish disk 1, 2 etc. A pain in the butt. I should have just listened to it at home. I never learn! :headache:

I'm coming to terms with staying w/our DCL excursions in Rome/La Spezia. But still hoping that a few more of you will want to band together and do our own thing. PM if you have interest in either of those ports.

Finally, a bit of housekeeping for my DD 16. She has finally realized how close we are to leaving (Duh!) and now desires to e-mail/chat/IM with some of the other kids her age before we get on board. She hasn't had much luck with the teen/tween board and says she needs their first and last names to add them to her MySpace acct? So, if you have a DD or DD around that age that wants to make contact please PM me and we'll try to get them connected.

Brian
Brian will send you a note later - sorry not sure if your DD 16 will want to hang out with my DD-14. She's nice but that age can be tricky. However, tell her not to dispair - I'm sure she won't have any problems once we get onboard. When my DS would go with us - I went through this every single time. For months I'd hear - but there is no one on the ship my age. You should have heard the ruckus in '05 for the Mex Riveria - for months all I heard was BS but no sooner did we get to the port - not even inside the terminal and he'd made friends or targets already. And he was going on 19 at the time.

Looong day today, slight head but ok thanks

Hey Andrew - had one of those on Tuesday. My trainer got my heartrate up waaaayyyyy too high. Thought I was going to pass out. Took me over 30 minutes to recover. We had to scratch the session. However, I had a headached for the rest of the day even after taking a 2 hr nap. I have got to tell her to slow down. I'll die next time. Took over 8 minutes to get my heartrate DOWN to 100. :scared1:

Taking my boy dog, Jordi, into the chiropractic vet today. He decided to race my pup through the backyard through an obstacle course of trees, shrubs, hot tub, etc and ended up crashing into the fence or hot tub. Not sure which. I only heard a loud bang. I could see the pup still running but couldn't see Jordi. Then he appeared on 3 legs and whimpering under his breath. After a few minutes he started putting his leg down and started walking on it but not really putting his weight on it. He looks OK now, but I might as well have him checked out.:sad2:

Jeanne - where in the world did you find a vet chiro? I think my girls may need one. They are going in just before we leave for everything - shots, teeth cleaning, clean-up - may as well check that.

I've been taking the same approach. I'm a fast reader, so if I relied on printed books I'd probably blow much of my weight limit just on books. I have a Creative player - not as cute as the IPod, but the software is pretty good. Even if the tracks aren't identified properly, I can just highlight all the files after the've been ripped, and assign author and title to all of them in one operation.

Glad you liked it - I was worried when I realized it said DL and your on the East Coast - oh well, makes it that much more special! You know - everybody on the ship will want one and will keep asking you if you bought it in the shop! If you spend too much $$ - you can always auction it off to raise more funds!- :lmao: :rotfl2:

Oh yeah - what does Jimmy think? :rotfl:
Right before I left, a very special package for Sallie came. Guess what was inside?? She is so sweet, she even let me try it on. Of course, I held it reverently. It really made our day even MORE fun.

You know Mary Ann - there's more where that came from! ;)

Just let me know! :rolleyes1

Sallie - on the house - except for what I wrote on the note. Did you get the note? I may have packaged it upside down. :lmao: :lmao:

You guys are hilarious - I'm busting up laughing here and DD is looking at me like I'm  :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
