Wow - Just friday we were talking about 200 or so posts to 10000, and now you guys have posted 800 posts. Did you guys do nothing over the weekend?

DH worked on Saturday. Today is our 13th Anniversary, we celebrated by mowing the lawns yesterday. Actually we have been planning for our trip south next weekend. The boys are going to spend a few weeks with Grandma. Jon will fly down to Palm Springs on the 14th to pick them up.

The worst part is 450 miles each way, and i don't even get to see a sign that says Anaheim on it. We are going to leave Sunday afternoon to come back.

Well - I have lots of work to do today, and perhaps later i can ketchup.

I see some new tags, they look great. i will have to get out my doc and start adding them.

What is The Red Hen book ???

I was thinking the same thing!!

Sorry - My mom was a librarian, so i grew up with tons of books everywhere I looked. I'm used to this book by several names. "the Little Red Hen", the Red Hen, etc. Basically it is a story of a Red hen who wants help planting some wheat that she eventually makes into bread. Nobody wants to help here, they all 'have things to do". So when it comes time to eat the bread, they of course all want it. She then wont give them any because they did nothing to help make it.

We use this philosophy in the house. We all have our jobs, and those jobs make up the family. If you are not willing to do your part, then you don't want to be part of the family and can fend for yourself. Mind you, the kids #1 job is to be good students.

To which one? You've got a revolving tag - Andrew's moves but yours is ever-changing!

Spent last night in Eastbourne at the hospital, we had a call that my aunt was going down fast so we drove there 2 hours, she died in the early hours of the morning, it was quite distressing she had decided she wanted to go, she has been a diabetic for 46 years and she decided to no longer have her insulin she refused all inteventions except pain relief and she stopped eating and drinking, she didn't die easily and I was pretty shaken...............sorry if this is a bit graphic but thanks for listening.
2 more days to Ofsted another 2 and they will have gone!!!!!

Carrie (sorry ) - I'm wondering, when you quote somebody - do you delete or edit any portions of the post? If you are - I probably know what your doing as I have done it in the past. If your quoting somebody and then you go back and either edit or highlight portions for deleting, if you go in a hurry - you're probably also catching the first or last " [ " or " ] ". I have done that in the past and it messes up the quote. If you check the quote above - the end right after the sunglass icon? You will see " /QUOTE] - there should be a beginning [. Sometimes when I edit from the beginning I also catch the end ]. Try editing your post above - as I can't edit and try inserting a " [ " just to see if it'll work. Wait let me try something:




YES!!! - its works - see - I just inserted the beginning [ and it 'sealed' it I guess. try that next time. You can always edit. I have found that when I am in a hurry - and I'm highlighting to edit - I often take one of the [ or ] with the deleting. I sometimes resort to inserting a space between the last character/punctuation/etc and the [ ] and then highlighting what I want to edit. This has helped me in the past. Try it!

OK - I get what your saying, but you've lost me as to why that was directed at me. I always double check things to make sure the quote comes out ok. However, I have often seen others 'misquote' - so I think what you have written is a good lesson. In fact, the quote you are using isn't from me. It's from someone else, that posted it and missed a [ on the last '/quote' It's easy to do when you are in a hurry, which is why I love that Preview button.

Well, I hadn't expected to visit here at all for the next few days (no chance at the 10,000) - as I'm up at Evergreen Lodge in Yosemite for a wedding. Haven't been here for a while - I should have known things have changed. In addition to the obligatory old games, jigsaw puzzles and hiking/nature magazines, the recreation room has wireless.

Now, I was a good boy, and left my laptop at home. But darn if they didn't also have three public terminals, so here I am. Of course, you're only supposed to use them for 20 minutes at a stretch, and the connection speed is slow, but I figure it's better to drop in now and then instead of dealing with 200+ pages on Sunday night or Monday

Anyway, good luck to whoever snags 10,000. Condolences to Lynn. And everyone enjoy your weekend.

Well I've now bought 60ft of 1" wide lime green ribbon. I figure as well as decorating the stateroom door I can decorate the veranda as well.......any other uses you can think of ???

I really really really wish I could go, even for the weekend. How lucky, you were able to go.

We live about 90 minutes away. If that. And can you believe that Mother's Day was our first trip? You just need a weekend. Drive up here on Friday night, stay in the big valley (San Joaquin). Then drive in early sat morning. If you can wait a few years, they are building a new Hilton close to me. You could stay there friday night.

My MIL back yard is Joshua Tree NF. We finally went there at Christmas a few years ago. Great time to go, weather is perfect, and the snakes are all asleep. So if anyone is ever in SoCal around Christmas and wants to see some cool trees and great desert flowers, head over there. Also great if you want to go camping in the winter. Night gets cool, but the days are pretty warm. (around 75 or 80)
