Anyone in the U.K. who need just the perfect Lime Green for recognition, Marks and Spencers have now decided to proudly and unofficially sponser the DISboards are their new carrier bags are the exact Lime Green we use :cool1: :cool1: :yay: :yay: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Thank you

I can't believe DH and I have just been to our local M & S to get a carrier bag so I can post a photo and can you believe it.......THEY'VE RUN OUT......Southgate must be overrun with DISSERS getting ready for their July 28th Med cruise :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Congrats on your Anniversary!!!

You are so welcome. Thank you Mary Jo for your great packing list, calendar and dis room powerpoint. And thank you again Andrew, you certainly are our Admiral. By the time we all meet in person, we'll feel like we've known eachother for years.

Sounds good!!!

Everyone has pulled together on this thread to make it a memorable one, from Helen organizing the light show and meal, to Klya with the Lanyards, TO Sallies pre meet BBQ, the fun on the pirate: posts,to the photos, logo/banner, ideas and weblinks, and it even has made JULIE NICE to me (occasionally when I do not mention her legs):thumbsup2

Then theres the TP, generously supplied, by Mrs G, and the odd hot flash!

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE!!!

When have I been nice to you? I bristle at the very notion! My assigned position is to keep you in line, not "be nice" . . .

Pre- Meet BBQ.... Maryann, Anna, Wendy, Julie- and anyone who can come- let me know if July 14th or 15th is a good date for a get together bbq.. I live in Garden City, exit 17 on the Southern State Pkwy- about 25 min from Manhattan ( without traffic, which is only from about 2am-9am) otherwise in traffic, it can be about 45min to an hour).

Sallie,

Thank-you for the invitation but we have a wedding that weekend. I'm glad we were able to meet a few weeks ago. I'm looking forward to seeing you on the cruise.

:goodvibes

Its when I read posts like this I wonder at what Im going to do -

We are hopefully (if all works out) going to Breed Floss - just think I might end up with 12 puppies running round my house !!!

I saw that on Captain crashs earlier post!!!

Yeah - I managed to "borrow" it although I haven't learned where to save it yet. :sad2:

Ok, didn't I, in a moment of weakness a few posts back actually say that I LIKE my DS?

DS & DD left yesterday for a 2 week tour of England, Ireland, & Scotland, and being the nice mom that I am, I decided to do DS's wash so his hamper would be clean when he got home. Well, after picking off 5000 pieces of tissues off his clothes, I take it back!!!!!!!!

Remember when it was crayons that they left in??

Good luck with the passports. Luckily you don't need them for this cruise. What a mess with people trying to expedite them. You should be fine with getting them for Dec.

Maryann

I forgot she wasn't bringing the kids too! I thought she was seeming pretty casual about the whole thing!

Think I'll go shopping!

pirate: pirate:

That must be God's way of saying, "What a good idea!" Shopping it is!
Definitely a sign from God

I like this.....I'm going to adopt this
It is a good one!!

One year, I realized that we wouldn't be going to Yosemite, so I made a spur-of-the moment decision & booked a night at Curry Village. We left Friday night at 1:30am (or Sat morning), and got to the top of Glacier Point at 7:30am. We got there in time to watch the hand gliders prepare to take off near the geological hut. That was so cool to see. Went home Sunday afternoon, and I think we got home around 3am or so. It was a great weekend, but, boy, by Wednesday I crashed (it was worth it though).

I've never been to Joshua Tree.
We went to Yosemite twice while we lived in NorCal - once in the fall and once in the winter. We live about 90 miles from Yellowstone now - have been there many times.

They sell them at REI too. My husband got one for climbing out of the Grand Canyon. I'll have to ask him how comfortable it was. It think he got the Camel back.
We have a few camelback and a platypus (think that is the brand)

Just got back from shopping!

Great!!

Si, pero otra vez, yo no pienso que he sido eso "agradable".

AUXILI telefoneu un metge -God she is as mad as me!!!!

Pot parlar m'es a poc a poc si us plau?

Fins aviat, Gr'acies.

¡Yo no puedo escribir en catalán!

Ok guys, no hablo espanol - can't spell either:banana:

My sons have actually gotten much, much better (unless they want something and then it's now) - they are 19 and close to 22.

My dd right now is the witchy one. I cannot take her attitude, moods and rolling of the eyes much more and she is only 14. I have way too many years until she "might" change her tune.

OMG! That's been happening to me - Youngest DD is 14 and I thought it was me! The :rolleyes2: and the 'tude! I could stangle her and she really is a :cutie:! Yeah - it isn't me.

I am sorrry Laura :grouphug: - please feel better. They always and will manage to hurt us. Most of us did it with our parents and from what we see or are told - they do come back around.

I read something a long time ago and saved it because it was so true. I don't remember where it is hiding of course. But it went something like this,

We spend the first 17 years trying to protect them and then we spend the next 10 years trying to kill them ourselves.

We do so much for them growing up. We want to give them everything and all whenever we can. We are afraid to say no, and when we do, we feel guilty. It takes one word or one gesture and they will hurt us - it is literally painful.

Patience, don't give up and hang in there :grouphug:

Oh good - he's my firstborn so this is all new. I always thought it would happen just not as violently as it did and I never expected him to refuse to talk. That's what makes it harder. I guess mom learned a lesson and I had to open my arms and let them fly as another saying goes. If you find that poem - would love to hear it.

I had not thought of this. Since it looks like my ds won't be able to come (I guess getting officially hired today w/all his paper work, drug test, etc.), my brother suggested changing names and bringing my niece. There are fees to pay to change name which is the least of the problem. Airfare changes daily and is a killer and who knows where a seat available is (even though one of us adults could switch on the plane). DCL said they might/might not be taking any more kids (she is 10) and she would not be in the same age group w/my dd and friend Amy. Her passport has not arrived yet (they applied about two months ago) and now you got me thinking with this whole excursion thing.

I think the best thing is just to cancel my son and take my losses - but I did not want to come right out and say "no" to my brother and let him think I might not want her to come.

Anna - I couldn't remember who had the son possibly not going.

In addition to a name change of on $35 dollars, there are other options.

Wait - I'm going to PM you to make sure you get this in time.

Maryann... we have another flasher!!!! I think we have a group now... maybe we need our own tee shirts... and ideas for what we should put on them????

Flashers Rule !
Anyone seen a fountain?????
The Red Hot Ladies !

I crack me up!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :cutie: :cutie: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

The Red Hot Ladies- I love it! Every time I'm flashing I think of it as a mini- vacation in the tropics!

Happy Anniversary Carrie and John.

Our 23rd anniversay is Saturday. MY DH surprised me with Tickets to see Jimmy Buffet in Atlantic City on Saturday. I can't wait to be be a parrothead for a night.

Only up to page 674. But at least my 1:30 meeting was rescheduled for tomorrow, so i don't have to drive to work. :cool1:

I'm glad you're finally seeing the light:3dglasses

There is something there which looks good- here is the description:
Family Adventure Pack
Carry the magic with you during a day of enchanted exploration away from the ship! Available for the first time on our Mediterranean cruises, this handsome travel set includes a spacious back pack, two travel neck wallets, two hydration waist packs with water bottles, and a bound journal for recording those special vacation moments.

I looked at that pack. It looked like a fanny pack with a place to hold a water bottle. I have one of those from walmart already, and don't like it. It was uncomfortable for me, and made me feel pregnant again. I ended up taking the water bottle and using the neck strap.

When we bought our camelbacks, I looked for ones that would hold lots of stuff. And I looked to make sure the zippers were hard to open, and/or concealed. That way if someone tried to walk up behind me to open it, i would know. Also there was a compartment that was nearer the inside that you can't reach w/o taking it off. A person wouldn't even be able to come up behind me and cut the bottom out with a knife. I think it is a matter of personal preference though. I found when the kids were small, and i went to a back pack purse, that it was the best thing I ever found. nothing like holding the hands of two kids while a purse falls off your shoulders. So for me, i like having it on my back. but when i am at DL, I like the fanny pack because I just turn it to the side when I ride a ride. still hands free.

OK Doctor Who time, bye!

I can't seem to catch Doctor Who here on BBC. It's on at strange times for my schedule. I've seen the previews though and it looks great.

We recently caught Robin Hood. It looked really nice and I liked some of the angles they were taking on it. The kids really liked it too, so we bought the first season dvd's. I just don't know how far behind we are to what is shown there. We have to wait till next season for Season two.

OK onto page 675 now.
