Hi all -- we've got relatives visiting from El Paso, Texas, this weekend. My brother took him out on his boat yesterday & they went fishing by Catalina. Didn't catch any fish, but they said that they saw this 'wall' of dolphins. They said that there were literally hundreds & hundreds of dolphins and they were soon driving amongst them & the dolphins were swimming alongside the boat & jumping in the air. How cool is that!

Hi Guys,
Hope you are all ok.

Well its 6am here and I'm up because I am going back to work today. :sad2: We have a 8 am staff meeting  I'm normally still in bed @ 8am!

I am worse than the kids - I really dont wantto go to school!

I am always the same first thing after a hol, but this year the hol was soooo amazing!!!

Oh well at least I can spend the morning break, making everyone jealous, when I tell them about my hols:rolleyes1

Got to rush!

Helen xx

Hope you had a good first day. All our students will be back tomorrow so it is our first day with everyone in the building. You are right, though, the memories of our cruise really have put a spring in my step this year!

Maryann
Well, 12 hours from now, our next school year will begin.....I met some of them last Thursday, and hopefully, I'll meet :teacher: the rest tomorrow! Our holiday was fabulous, we've been reminiscing all summer about the wonderful experiences we had and sharing it will all our friends. I agree with Nick, Italy was my favorite and so amazing!!:cloud9:

Hi Everyone,
We are back from our camping trip and for the 1st time in my life we camped and it didn't rain, not even a drop. :cool1: We had a nice and relaxing time.

Harole Ann, thanks for the suggestion we have already booked a hotel and I think it will be fine.

I have a staff meeting tomorrow morning at 9 and then start school on Thursday, Sept 6th. It's hard to believe vacation is over. But it was the best summer vacation ever!!!!

I hope everyone had a nice weekend and is home safe and sound.

Sandra
We had a great weekend too with some DIS friends from a previous cruise.....the only problem is that we all got really burnt and my nose hurts!!! The weather was beautiful but sunnier than I realized!:headache:

Talking about rude people - our group only encountered one rude "mother and son" - I won't say family because the husband said absolutely nothing. Not one word. This was when we were ready to sit in Monaco for lunch. It was an episode I would rather forget and was disgusted. The mother and son wanted our group or should I say my family since it involved myself and my son, to separate from the table so her husband could sit down. Meanwhile 9 out of 11 of us were already sitting and my son and I were in front of our chairs ready to sit. They would not stop and I still can't believe their mentality. I will say that earlier the "son" was in front of us at the Monaco Museum/Palace and was almost thrown out by the people working there becuase he was not and refused to listen/follow their directions.

End of story.

Now that I have talked to Wendy - I really wanted to post some good news - Not sure if you guys remember that there was a very good chance that my oldest son would not be able to come on the cruise since there was a possibility that he might be called for a position he applied for. He did get the call and was hired. He will start on 9/17. I am sooooo happy that he was able to come with us to share this wonderful cruise with us and to see where I was born.

Okay, it's getting late enought chatting for me. Looking forward to Laura's blog :)

Congratulations to you and your son! That is great!

We had great weather in MT this weekend too. Did some hiking and some horseback riding - oh, and some laundry:laundy: and paid some bills :headache: .
Also did some brainstorming about vacations for the next few years. We are really interested in doing the Safari with DVC points. Can't seem to find anyone who has done it though. Also interested in doing the Alaska cruise with DVC points through HAL - anyone know anyone who has done that??

Hi, wonderful people from the July 28th Med cruise! We got back on Saturday, Sept. 1, after spending time in Paris/DL Paris after getting off the Magic, and then getting back on for the transAtlantic crossing. The repo cruise was wonderful in many ways, but the people on our July 28 cruise were really special . . . I appreciated it even more when I didn't experience that same feeling on the repo.

My condolences to Wendy as well. I haven't had a chance to completely catch up on this thread, so if I have missed any other important news, I apologize.

Love to all of you . . . I will be looking at the 2009 itineraries and will probably book, so maybe we can arrange a reunion of the best group of people to ever sail the seas!

Heellllooo Everyone!

I'm Back - well sort of! I am off the Magic and am sitting in a 1 bedroom villa in Old Key West. DH is sawing away in the bedroom and DD Megan and I are catching up. April is sleeping away.

LOTS AND LOTS TO DIS about especially about how certain people were treated but that's for another time. Right now, I am debating on going to sleep or taking and car and exploring.

Let me clarify - DH and the girls went home and flew on a red-eye last night to FL. I went on the repo with Pam and Christie and her dear DH - Ken - had a blast caught up with Julie and her girls got some awesome shots of her.

I will dish later on my blog about certain escapades and I promise to name names if I can but remember - this is my blog and so what I say is what I felt at the time. I have lots to update - didn't do it on the ship as the bandwidth was tooooooooo slllloooooowwwwwww.

So - later on I promise to post lots and lots of pictures. For now, I think I may go exploring with Megan.

Later everyone!

Welcome, almost home Laura! Can't wait to see your pictures---don't forget the manhole cover:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi, wonderful people from the July 29th Med cruise!

Julie, glad to know you and your girls are home safe and sound. It was such a pleasure meeting you and the girls & enjoying your company.

We are off to South Carolina this weekend to visit our daughter and her family and to celebrate her birthday. Never thinking when we booked the return flight, I told Garry just book it for the day after her birthday----September 11:scared1: ! Oh, well by now that is just another day at the airport....I hope. It is a good thing Anna's daughter is not going with me, right Anna??

For everyone going back to school, have a great year!

Last night I was putting our vacation video together so we could take it to our daughter's and I felt like I was on vacation again! I really enjoyed watching it like it was my first time to see everything! When I finished, I came upstairs and told Garry "Thanks for a wonderful vacation!" I think on a cold winter day I will just slip that in the DVD player and relax! If we could have just had Maurice's song from the talent show to end the video it would have really been a perfect ending---but the show in Diversions is okay for laughs!

Welcome Home Julie. Glad you are home safe too!

It's just another day flying Harole Anne. Do not even think about it. I can't imagine my dd flying on this date - that's all she needs. We were both great for this trip and we both took Benadryl strips before flying.

Happy Birthday to your dd and enjoy your time there with her.

Welcome home Julie!! Yes, it was certainly a special cruise. There are a bunch of us planning on 2009 (Sallie was keeping a list- where has Sally been anyway?). Can't wait to see the itinerary!

Anna, great news about your son's job! Congrats!!! Any news about the wedding from Wendy?

Sandra, No Rain??? That's because I didn't go. It always rains when I do go. At least your jinx broke!:lmao: :lmao:

Harole Ann, Don't worry about flying on that day. I'm sure security has been hightened just in case of copycats.

Tom & I are thinking of doing the Quest for the West Adventures by Disney for next July. It will be something really different. Yosemite has always been on our "to do" list and we want to cruise in 2009 so we decided on doing an Adventures next year. I'm going to call about it today. Anyone done this one?

Welcome home, Julie. What a fantastic vacation you all had. Good for you. :) I feel especially blessed that we went on the July 28th cruise, as all you cruise veterans have been saying how nice it was to cruise with this particular group of DISers.

I like your idea of slipping in the dvd to relive our vacay. I'm in the process of making one now. It's just so hard to pick the pictures, though!

Have a fun trip to So Carolina with your daughter & family. Sounds like a really nice time.

A 2009 cruise sounds so nice! Our relatives will be visiting us that year, though, so I guess we won't be able to make it (sigh) ... unless we win the lottery & can take them with us. :teeth:

I'm looking forward to reading about the wedding from Wendy, too. She & her family are in my thoughts.

As for Yosemite, Maryann ... I haven't done an Adventures trip, but have been to Yosemite countless number of times. Always happy to share info on my favorite place in the world.

Hey everyone,

I was visiting the Community Board (CB), and came across this thread about Keira Knightly's dress.

Somehow, the subsequent posts & comments made me think about YOU! :rotfl:

Oh MJ,

I just knew someone would put "toilet paper" to good use. You see, if we were more creative, we could have made millions designing a dress like that. Then we could pay for your extended family to cruise with us in 2009!!:lmao:

Hi everyone,

Just got home from the hospital. My dh came home from work today and was experiencing severe chest pains. Five hours later - he is okay. He did have a heart attack. Apparently he has had a few silent ones before and his heart/muscle is damaged. They put a stent in on the main artery which was completely clogged and the other two arteries that are not as clogged will try medication. If medication does not work, two more stents. He is very lucky to be alive and thank God it did not happen a few weeks ago on the cruise. He "might" be home Friday. This is a person who never go to a doctor. We will learn now from this wake up call.

Thx Julie, glad you all made it home safe! We enjoyed the wine tasting with you, I'm still trying to find Cinque Terre wine in the states!! I also hope we all will sail again someday (Med in 2009:banana: !!):dance3:

Anna! That is so scary. It is really wonderful what doctors can do today for the heart. Please tell your dh that he's in our thoughts & prayers. Good thing you went to the doctors!
