I did the Grand Californian last time great location, but am thinking about all three Disney hotels, with a slight preference to the Disneyland hotel this time, pre cruise for four days in 2008.

Hi all,
Wow .... I really can't keep up with everyone. Every time I come back to the thread there is soooo much to catch up on . By the time I've read through everything there is just too much to post replies to .
This is my first time I have ever registered with a forum ..... overwhelming is an understatement!!!

One day we are roasting and the next we are freezing! Today is sunny and freezing cold breeze---try to figure it out??!!

Of course this means I have to get him to bed early because we have a 9am game, and have to be at the field at 8. But tomorrow's game is for the whole enchilada. Winner goes to TOC. (sigh)

So now a little moment to brag - This is Garet in his Pirates uniform, and his Chargers uniform from last season.

If you choose the Disneyland Hotel, then I recommend the Sierra Tower with the theme park view. You will overlook Downtown Disney, and also be able to see parts of Disneyland & California Adventure. I got my cousins such a room last year for 4th of July (Independence Day), and with two little ones we went back to their room. They were able to open their balcony door (full sliding glass window to an 18" ledge really) and we could hear the fireworks music down below & watch the fireworks from their room - it was great.

Hello Everyone! I am back from my exile at least for a few minutes.

DD14 graduated last night and boy - was that both frustrating and fast.

I have come to 1 conclusion:

This last one is NOT going to be allowed to date until she's 21.

Let me explain a bit. I'm being going through something pretty fough the last couple of weeks. So I finally decided to treat myself and went to the MAC Cosmetics counter to have my face done up! BOYT! Do they do wonders! By the time I left there - I wasn't sure who I was except for this fact: "I Felt Pretty - Oh So Pretty!" (Insert image of me dressed in a tutu dancing in a field of daisies! ) Anyway, I took DD with me and they 'managed' to sneak her in and did her face also.

Well, as many of you probably know - I didn't as I had never done this before, MAC is a very expensive make-up Counter scared1: ) So anyway, I was getting done, anxious cuz I had to be at my hair appt in 40 minutes which I ended up being late too but that's another story. Anyway, When I was almost done - my artist stepped away for something. In the time that she left, 3 countergirls walked by and said - 1. Wow! 2. Your make-up looks fantastic and 3. You look beautiful to which I thought they were just being kind to sucker me into buying the make-up.

At the end, my DD who was sitting behind me asked me a question, I turned around and then she stopped talking to me. Which of course me cuz I thought - OH NO! What do I look like. When I finally finished - I was able to look and I just wanted to look. I was pretty! This is sad - but I felt even more pretty than on my wedding day! And I didn't have my hair done or my dress.

When I finally got to look at DD - I thought - Uh Oh! she looks very regal. Very white and pale but very regal. She is NOT dating until she's 21! This girl is only 14.

The scary thought was that I told them to scale back because she was only 14. The first hour - she looked heavily make up but by the time she was made up hairwise and dressed - I thought - Oh My God! This is a precursor to what her wedding will look like. She's 14 and I'm already thinking - wedding???

Anyway, the gang is pounding on the door so I will sign off for now and post a picture later. I will continue my exploits of how I went out with a BANG! I loved it!

Okay you guys...this morning I woke up nervous......this is such a big trip and I have never travelled to Europe. This is my first trip in my lifetime where I need a passport.......

There are 19 of us together.....I am sure everything will be fine.....but if I am nervous now(7 weeks to go), what will it be like when we leave???

Well I feel like this, I overprepare (for example, read this thread and many others)....read books about where we're going, start packing early....all those things should make things go more smoothly....I'm nervous too!!!

OK Helen,

You asked about family and the dis boards. Well, frankly, they all think I'm nuts. When I talk about you all like I would talk about my friends here at home, DH & my kids say "Who's that?" When I say a Dis board friend, they shake their head and say that I've got to be kidding! You see, this is very out of character for me. I'm normally very cautious (as I am sure we all are) about sharing info with people I don't know well. I don't do chat boards or any other forums except for the Dis. I've been a member for years and found it through Deb's site. DH can't complain because the tips I've gotten over the years has saved us tons of money and tons of time.

He is a little apprehensive about meeting everyone. We normally keep to ourselves when we go away and don't usually go away with another couple or "hook up" with another couple we meet for dinner, excursions, etc. We like being by ourselves. I explained that this will be fun because you are all great people. Please don't be offended if we like to be by ourselves and don't join in on everything. It's just our way. I am looking forward to meeting for dinner at 4cats, the Fountain meet, and the Dis meet on Sun. I really do feel like I've made friends here.

You really are a super bunch of people!!!!
