July 2011:Calling all planners-Post your dates & Resort

Rabbit was at the Pooh Meet and Greet in the Magic Kingdom. It's kind of between Dumbo and the Tea Cups and lines up against the construction wall.

I found Thumper (and Miss Bunny) at Animal Kingdom. He was out signing autographs and she was participating in the little dance party back at the Greeting Trails.

I know that the Lotso Meet and Greet in DHS is changing over to Pooh for the upcoming movie. I have never seen Rabbit in England before.

BTW, I love the song ("Somewhere Only We Know") they are using in the Pooh previews and I start crying at the end of the preview every time. I don't know why. :confused3

I am going to be on the look out for Rabbit and Thumper. I am so mad, we missed Lotso last summer. He was on break when we were in Animation and we never went back.....I did hear he is in the parade.

For years they attributed the headaches to just my sinuses (which that is part of it). But when I had an incident of seizures that wouldn't end, they finally found the lesion. If I had never had the seizures, they never would have found it. Turns out it is very hereditary, and some of my relatives have had strokes from these lesions. Fortunately, mine isn't too big, and the meds should keep me from ever having seizures again. But the headaches are owie. Although, I'm not into brain surgery, which is the alternative. It is a very long story and situation, but I try to keep a positive attitude. It is just that the headaches do keep me away from many things. And, since they drain energy, I get tired a lot too. :( However, when I am in Disney, my sinuses don't bother me, so that is one less pain! haha.... yes, i am a walking disaster. :)

I hope you feel better soon.

I finally booked the Pirates League for ODD! We got a 12 noon appointment on the 17th. So I was thinking that after we get her made up then we will go have lunch in Frontierland or just go where ever DH sounds interested in going.

We like Columbia Harbor House, and I have always wanted to try The Diamond Horseshoe Saloon if you need some suggestions.

DH says he is a walking diaster too. But today he is feeling pain free.

Sounds like my DH.......we are flying instead of driving because of his knee issues. Just hope it does not flare up in Disney.

Been absent for wow about a month now... its been a long haul for our family, too much sadness, disappointment, etc, but we are hoping for smooth sailing from now on.

I am making up the clothing lists now. Have to see if I can borrow luggage from my mom and dad. LOL. We are taking Amtrak down and back, and luggage is limited to two per person ( I am sure we will do fine. one portion of our trip our luggage will not be checked in. sigh.)

we are staying offsite at the Seralago. We stayed there last year and only had a few minor easily repairable issues. I have confirmation from the mgr that we will have no issues this time around. I got an excellent rate for this, it will cost us less to stay for a whole week than it would for one night onsite. Someday I want to stay onsite, but this trip is not that time LOL.

its good to be back.
jan

Welcome back, sorry to hear it has been rough for awhile. Disney planning is always a bright spot though. Off site has its advantages too - does not matter as long as Disney is involved!
:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Pain free is good!

Okay, so not to change the subject (as my mom always says), but who thinks it's *not* too late to do a trip report from my Dec 2010 trip? I did a ptr, but never followed through. I was going through it today and think I want to do a TR, but it was 5 months ago. Is it too late? Anyone want to weigh in on this one?

PS: I already have the pics in photobucket LOL

I do not think it is too late - I love reading trip reports!!

YAY! I was able to add a 2nd trip in this summer!!! :cool1: We booked FW Cabin with another family and their kids!!! Gonna be awesome!!! July 27-31:wizard:

Welcome! Sounds like a fun time. If you have any ADRs you would like to add to the list on page 1 just post them and I will update it.

Go ahead and do one. I have seen some even later. What dates were you there? We were there from 12/10-14 and boy was it cold :cold:

Tink~I think our last trip we only ate at 2 CS resturants. Roaring Forks and Pinnochio's Village Haus. I am open to ANY CS resturant suggestions, especially for DHS but I doubt I will get many for that park.

RFrank~ That is AWESOME you get to go to Disney 2x in a year! That's my eventual goal because I :love: everything about Disney.

I got an email from DH this morning and he said he would LOVE to go do The Pirate's League with Meghan! I told her that and she got so excited! So now I get to call and add him to the noon reservation. My Husband and Daughter are going to be Pirates for a day! I'm so proud!

We were there from 12/12 until 12/19 and you are right is was the coldest I've ever been in FL!

I will do it! I will probably start on Monday, when my dd is back in school. Anyone have any idea how to link my PTR to my trip report when I start it?

This morning in the shower I found myself whistling every disney tune I could think of... absolutely the best time to get back on track.

Back when Star Tours first closed for refurbishment, I was talking to my brother in law Darren about it. He was in a hospital bed at the time, and we chatted a bit about how it would be great to take all the kids down to FL and he was really interested in going too. I was thinking about this today, I see that the ride is open now, and I plan to go and ride it in memory of Darren, he passed away on May 3rd ( which is also my parent's anniversary) and now my sister is left to bring up her two girls. I know its sad, overwhelmingly so at times, but I choose on this day to think how happy he would be to know that I will ride that ride for him in July. ( Star Wars is so NOT my thing).

and I hope to take his girls with us next year.

now I am off to look at creative things people do for their kids at Disney LOL.

I am so sorry for your loss. It does help to look for positive memories and ways to remember someone in happier times.

Here are some CS recommendations:
At Epcot - Sunshine Seasons (in the Land Pavilion - great variety)
almost any of the CS in the countries......
DHS - Starring Rolls - great sandwiches (and yummy pastries)

AK - Flame Tree Barbeque

MK - Columbia Harbor House, Pecos Bills is also good. I

allears.net has all the menus, it helps to find places that work for your family

last minute trip I just booked a few days ago July 16- July 22. My oldest is 9 and she is going to summer camp for 2 weeks, so I am going with my 6 yr old to WDW the week before and we will route our trip to pick her up on the way back. Our little one is 4 and he is going to stay home with dad.

1 child?!?!?! this will be such a vacation!!!!!!:dance3: Now don't get me wrong I love my 3 kids, but put hem together and the work multiplies exponentially...:rotfl: And I have never been to anywhere but the store with just one of them.

Since there was no planning, there was no budget; so we will be staying at the POP. I have only stayed at Poly and BLT before, but I think with just the 2 of us it will be doable

I will be there at the same time and I completely understand your concept of 1 child!!! I still crack up when I only had 1 I thought it was work...now after having 4 -- going with 1 child is NOTHING...of course, my kids are older now too but put all 4 of them together and one never knows if there will be smooth sailing or fireworks exploding (and not in a good way!). :lmao:

I guess I should be on this list too. I'm on the August list, but my trip begins 7/25 with 4 days at Universal, then we go to Disney starting 7/29 until 8/4!

This is our first trip to Universal and we're staying at the Royal Pacific, so very excited about that, and then can't wait to go back to Disney. We're staying at the Dolphin for the first time! I needed to save a little $ somewhere on our 10 night trip and the Dolphin sounds perfect. It's near Epcot, which I LOVE and I love the fact that we can either go on a boat or walk to 2 out of the 4 resorts. I really hate the buses so at least we get a little break from them.

I would  to take a solo trip with one of my kiddo's (well the older 2 for right now) but I think it will have to wait. I do know that my middle DD want's to go for her Birthday which is in October so I could also take her to MNSSHP (which I want to go to lol)

What are your thoughts on Resturantosauras? On the 15th, were spending our morning in the AK and were either going to do a CS lunch there or go to one of the resorts to get lunch (Poly or WL more then likely)but if not I was considering this one because of it's location to the Dig Site. Let the girls eat then run off some steam before we go swim at the resort.
I've heard great things about CHS and PB's in the MK as well as Cosmic Ray's. I also like that Sunshine Seasons has more choices then The Electric Umbrella.
I've heard that Staring Rolls also has HUGE sandwiches and great cupcakes (Butterfinger YUMMY!) but that's the only CS in HS I've heard good thing's about.

Were getting closer :banana::banana: I can't believe June is almost here:eek: I still haven't made the other shirts for the girls and I to go with the white short's I bought. It also doesn't help that I found out they have the fabric with the elastic chest in Mickey/Minnie on purple background and The Princesses on purple background :woohoo: So should I go matchy matchy with The Tinkerbell fabric or get the girls each their own style to match their character choices? I also still have to pick up Body Glide, pay for our Photopass (soo not passing that up this time!)and finish packing.

At DHS we actually did not think the Backlot Express was too bad. Starring Rolls is awesome, especially the desserts. We ate at Restaurantosaurus once and I was not impressed, but you have to look at the menu and see if it works for you. I was not real impressed with Pizzafari either - but that was a long time ago. We do like Flame Tree BBQ. If you decide on a sit down - there is Rainforest Cafe right there or Kona Cafe at the Poly was very good - we did a walk up there last summer.

I was just thinking today about how it is getting closer. Of course, I don't pack in advance, but I'm trying to think of what I need to be doing. First, I figured out this week that our suitcases are two big for the newer restrictions at the airports (we haven't flown in three years). So, now I have to find new suitcases or figure something else out. :scared1: I was thinking of putting a packing list together as well. I have never done this, but since we always just pack the day before, this may help me not forget things!

I also want to put together something with all the information for each parks that we would want to know... what rides we want and where in the park they are, what CS places are there, the CS menus, park hours, showtimes, and maybe what times TP most suggests to go on certain rides. I don't follow touring plans normally, because we don't get up early, but I thought if I could get a general idea of what times are good that would be helpful.

I just have no idea how I want to put all of that info together!!! I thought maybe just a small notebook that I can write it in? I'm not looking for a keepsake. I just want something smaller I can use to refer to while we are in the parks. Any ideas/suggestions are welcome.

I also need to dig out my shorts and make sure I have enough for this year. I am not quite sure where I put them away last year.... yes, that happens a lot! I'm a very forgetful person. lol.

AWWWWWWWWW... I feel like I'm missing something.... Why can't I be more organized? It's never bothered me before! :lmao: I just want this trip to be perfect.

Thanks for all the pixie dust guys!! EVERYTHING crossed that it won't happen!!

Sending you pixie dust! pixiedust: I'm looking forward to playing I-Spy Miss Mo at the Crystal Palace!

Me too Zoomama! We'll be the blue (blue darkens to white over the course of the holiday once we get a tan - haha!) Scottish couple with the cute little toddler!! :lmao:

Sears is having a luggage sale this week just a little FYI! I'm not very organized either, hence starting to pack now because I keep unpacking and re-packing I keep going over a short list of things we will need and gradually checking them off the list every time. Then I loose that list, have to unpack and see what we have then Re-pack it....do you see a pattern here :rotfl2::rotfl2: I'm lucky my head is attached to my shoulders or else it would stay on my pillow most days :lmao:

Tink~ The Menu at Resturantosauras looked ok to the kids and I....basic fare of hamburgers, fried nuggets or sandwiches. I heard that the kids meal comes in a pail too so Hailey is all excited about that. If the kid's change their minds though there is always The Poly or WL CS or trying to get in for a TS at either one. I can tell you that we eat Pizza often here (only 2 places deliver and we don't have a whole lot of meal options) so I will more then likely be avoiding Pizza on any level even though DH want's to go to Pizza Planet and I wasn't really thrilled with them last year. All the kid's wanted to do was pump quarters into the games.

We've added another dining reservation to our July plan. Not sure if the dining is still being updated but if so here is our new reservation.

Grand Floridian Cinderella Dinner July 28 5:20

Haha... that's probably why we don't pack until the last minute. If we did it too far ahead, we would be packing an unpacking too. Of course, I have been packing for myself since I was about 6 yrs. old. So, I'm pretty good with getting all the main basics in. It is my husband who tends to miss things. I also want to make sure I get in all the extra things we take to Disney to make the stay more enjoyable. :)

Thanks for the info about sears. I'll have to check that out!!

We planned out the snacks and breakfast food we are going to need to bring with us. We are staying in a studio at AKV for most of the trip, so we enjoy being able to save money by eating meals in the room.

On that same token, have any of you stayed at Kidani? We've stayed at Jambo tons of times, but never at Kidani.

ok so how about I "organize" a meet?

Let's say July 20 at MK.

Around 1pm? I don't know where
