July 2011:Calling all planners-Post your dates & Resort

Also, is anyone else doing any special tours or programs?

We are doing the American Story YES program on July 20th. And was thinking of doing some other things for the kids, but still undecided. Pirates cruise thing for the kids (the one where kids only get to go) pirate's league and/or princess boutique.

Trying to see how much we can do for as little $ as possible!

You know you are on Facebook too much when you are looking for the "like" button on the DIS threads... oh well... LIKE!!!

On Ravelry (a knitting site), they have "love", "agree", "disagree" and a couple of others. Aside from the drama of a disagree button on the DIS... I do miss the "love" and "agree" buttons. I'm always looking for them, everywhere!

Also, is anyone else doing any special tours or programs?

Back in... 2005? my husband and I did the Keys to the Kingdom tour. We convinced my parents to do it this time. El Cheapo husband (said tongue planted firmly in cheek) refuses to shell out for any of the savanna tours or all day tours that WDW offers. He's such a bummer! ;)

Today, it's warmish and rainy. All I can think about all day is OMG DISNEY! Up until now, I've been dreading it - the heat, the crowds, the extended family.... and my stupid injury. But today? It seems real! OMG DISNEY!

:love::love::love:

Ok, I have to ask y'all because it's kinda driving me bonkers...Chef Mickey's for Breakfast...pass or go for it? I've heard that it's gone down hill but I've never been there and if I can get into Crystal Palace for breakfast on our Chef Mickey's day then I will switch it out for that or even try The Main Street Bakery (I have heard REALLY good things about that place!) HELP!

I rarely take someone else's opinion on a restaurant unless I know them personally and whether they have good taste or not. :) I've heard a lot of things about stuff going down hill, but I'm not letting that stop us from visiting some of our old favorites this trip.

That said, back in 2004 we did both Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace for breakfast. We really enjoyed both of them and would have a hard time picking one over the other because they were slightly different experiences. Based on our experiences on that trip, I'd be comfortable recommending both.

My family prefers Crystal Palace for breakfast. At Chef Mickey's we felt crowded and the characters didn't spend much time with the kids. Could have just been the days we were there, tried twice, but this time they don't want to go there. Crystal Palace we don't feel like we are eating with the table next to us and the characters seem to have more time at each table. We are eating at Crystal Palace and then some of the group is eating breakfast there again on our last day. Myself and my husband are eating at the Main Street Bakery that morning, it will be our shopping morning.

I agree - you need to be careful about others opinions - and I would not let it stop me from visiting a restaurant, especially if the reviews are still mixed. That being said, we have done both. Personally, I liked Crystal Palace better - but DS has been asking to go back to Chef Mickeys so we are doing it this summer too. Part depends on which characters you want to see too. CMs has Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, etc. and Crystal Palace is all Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, etc.

The Main Street Bakery is a counter service, and it is very good - but not a buffet like the other two.

See then though that brings a whole other slew of issues lol. Were having Dinner at CP our first night there. It's like a tradition for us (or will be it's only our 2nd trip:rotfl2:). So we will already be seeing the characters that night. I wanted to try Chef Mickey's for breakfast for the top your own waffle bar. Then again I've heard great things about the puffed french toast at CP. In the end it's all about the food options. I think it was MDD's idea to try CM after she saw it on Food Network on Unwrapped or some show like that. She saw the top your own waffle bar and that you could get desert for breakfast and was on :cloud9: I let them each choose ONE place they would like to eat at...ODD wanted O'hana for either breakfast or dinner (got both because I LOVED the dinner there) and MDD wanted Chef Mickey's or Akershus (again we got both mostly because I liked breakfast in Norway :rotfl2:). So should I ask the toughest food critics I know...the kids?

Oops, I just realized that I typed the wrong time for one of our ADRs.

Our ADR for Kona on the 12th is 9:15 am, not pm.

Hey y'all, I know Ive been MIA but with good reason. I've been working on some Disney treats to send to the girls. Im not all that crafty so it took me longer than it might for most I imagine. But look at that, time is flying by and now there are only 42 days left :cool1:

So first I sent them them some Mentos and mini M&M's and told them to hang onto the tubes when they were all gone. Of course they were all curious about that. Then I mailed them their pressed penny labels.

Pressed_Pennies_1-1.jpg

Then I started working on the Passports.

Passports_Front_1.jpg

Then I started working on the planner, but that took me a long, long time. So in the meanwhile, I made this vacation countdown frame based on one I saw on the Creative Designs board

Countdown_Frame_1.jpg

But I couldnt stop there, cause by then I had the "fever" so I made this trivia countdow board

And, finally last week I finished the Disney planner. You can see the whole thing on this thread I posted in Creative Designs.

I don't listen to other opinions too much either. I use them for guidance, but not for final opinion. My husband and I aren't food critics. As long as it is edible, we are good to go! :lmao: We have a breakfast ressie for CM, and I am looking forward to seeing Mickey. :) We do a lot of character meals because we are nuts... and I still get shocked that my DH requests them. So, 5 out of 9 ressies are for character meals. Keep in mind... we have no children. We just love Disney.

Wow, those are quite the "treats"!! Such awesome stuff there!! :) Maybe when I have a child to take with me, I'll do some of that. But, for now... I'm just happy to get my husband to leave the house on time! :rotfl2:

Guess what....

:dance3:45 DAYS!!!!!:dance3:

P.s.... for those of you on the WISH thread. Yes, I have gone MIA... headaches have kept me from doing anything. I finally just made an appointment with my Neurologist because of it. But, of course, that isn't until August.

I think so. Plus, we get to see the characters we really want to see without waiting in lines. It makes the most sense. and... they are fun! :goodvibes

We also felt that CM characters rushed us. Also, we liked the food better at Crystal Palace. We love Main St. Bakery:love:

All fixed!
Thanks!!:cheer2:

I had to wait months the first time I got a neurologist appointment. What is up with that???

BTW...I forgot to quote it, but I loved the trivia count down calander and all of the planning stuff. Awesome job:flower3:

I had to wait months the first time I got a neurologist appointment. What is up with that???

It's insane. On top of it, I needed to see the Neurosurgeon first to make sure that the lesion on my brain hadn't gotten bigger or that it wasn't bleeding. If either of those were true, that could explain the headaches. But, nope... so after months of waiting to see the Neurosurgeon, I get to wait a few more months to see the neurologist. Yay for modern medicine! :rotfl:

Oh, I will still wait in line to meet a character (especially Rabbit last December and Thumper too).
