July 2011:Calling all planners-Post your dates & Resort

Poor you!! You should search the internet for exercises geared for wheelchair bound people - I would think there might be something out there. (I am a nurse, which is why I am thinking of it) Although it is nothing close to what you are going through my DH just had knee surgery but developed a hematoma in his calf after surgery. It has been almost a month now and he is just starting PT. He is way behind and I wonder if we will be getting a wheelchair for him. It is one reason we have decided to fly instead of drive this trip.

We will be at the BWI from July 12-26th! We love the Epcot area - it is so nice to have boat transportation to DHS and Epcot (and you can walk too). When you do take the buses, on the return trips they sometimes stop at Swan/Dolphin and it is quicker to get off there and walk back to the BW - just a tip.

We should try to plan a Dismeet for everyone over at the Epcot area!

Thanks for the advice! I'll remember that. If I could work it out, I'd do a Dismeet. I've never been able to manage ones on previous trips due to schedule conflicts :confused3 Maybe this time it would work. Keep me in mind lol

I've got overseas company coming in for 10 days on Thursday and then, once they leave, I am free to do nothing but get myself in Disney shape LOL We do a lot of walking (shopping) when they are here, so that should be a good start for me, in addition to the few times a week I do the treadmill at PT.

Dismeets do not have to be long, maybe just a quick get together on the Boardwalk sometime. It is so fun after "talking" on the Boards!

Last time I was trying to get involved in a Dismeet, it ended up being at the same time as my dd's BBB appointment. Then they actually rescheduled and it ended up being the same time as one of my ADR's. I couldn't win that time, that's what I meant LOL

Then this time, you can pick the date and time first! Usually we do not have many ADRs but this summer we have free dining so I do have dinners scheduled almost every evening though.

Too funny...I was actually just about to start my workout and found myself here instead! Guess I need to get back to it! But first, I just had to add our July trip!!

We will be at BCV from 7/19 to 8/1! Can't wait! :yay:

Change in plans! Our dates are now July 12-26 at the BWI. DH had knee surgery and has had complications so we were not sure how well he would hold up driving for 2 days each way....luckily, Southwest had a sale and we were able to get flights for $84 each way! We just had to change the dates - and we get to stay longer. I will miss having a car there, but will not miss the long drive.

We are going to be staying at BWV from July 19th until the 26th. We've never stayed at an Epcot resort. I can' wait for it:banana::banana:

We'll be at Saratoga Springs Resort from July 12 - 21 and I cannot wait!!!!:yay::yay::yay:

:thumbsup2 I updated everyone

Woohoo!!! My new birkenstocks came in today for our summer trip!! :) Now to break them in. :thumbsup2

I got mine about a couple of months ago and went walking in them today but my arch started hurting walking in them:confused: Hopefully I will break them in before Disney

Here's mine and DD also has a pair

Sooooo cute! :) I have a couple of pairs I wear so that I can alternate shoes.

Below is a link to what I got if you want to see them. They are not "Disney", but I think they are different. I usually get mine off of QVC, but they didn't have any with ankle straps that I liked this year. :(

Those are nice too. They look like they would be more comfortable than mine to walk around the parks all day. But I will also be taking my comfy Disney crocs with me too.

Like Wintershawl posted I ordered them off QVC. My mother who is a HSN/QVC addict called me to tell me they had cute Disney shoes and I just couldn't resist. :goodvibes

That's odd. I posted a response last night. I thought it was there last night. Now it isn't.

Thanks! Those are so adorable, I may just have to order a pair :)

Yes, they are very cute! lol. I'd buy a pair, but I make sure I have ankle strap sandals for the parks. I tend to walk out of the ones that don't. :) Birks don't work well for everyone. However, I have very high arches, and they have great support!

Are we there yet???

Hi all! I'm new to the boards (officially...I was a lurker for about a month before I joined!!). This is our first "real" trip. We went back in 2004 when my two older ones were little and I was expecting. We stayed off property and only went for 3 days. This time, we're staying at the GF and doing the dining plan. Can't wait!!!

Welcome! The Grand Floridian is a beautiful place. Have you requested are certain building? We are doing the dining plan too this year - lots of food - but a great opportunity to try a lot of new places! This is a great place to ask questions if you have any!

Where in PA? We are outside of Pittsburgh!

My husband didn't think they'd be too comfortable for walking around. But I have high arches and a wide foot. :confused3

I just paid off both portions of my trip, the one for the end of June and the one for our July anniversary trip. :dance3::dance3::woohoo:
