Nope, NOTHING. I can't do ANYTHING. It's a calf muscle and you don't realize how much you use it until you tear it. No toe pointing (this means no toe tapping to favorite music). No pulling my foot towards me. No sitting as if in a chair with the feet flat on the floor. Definitely no walking. And no stairs. (There's a possibility I will have to be in a wheelchair for the Mouse!) No swimming, no running, no heels, no tip-toes.
My husband is a marathoner... he and I agreed that this spring I'd do a couch to 5k program. That's off until probably 2012, unfortunately.
The whole story: My right leg was bowed, so I'd worn through the cartilage in my knee. Basically, I had knee pain for over 15 years before anyone believed me and it was my surgeon. In late 2009, I had surgery that straightened my leg (!!). In late 2010, I had surgery to take out the plate and screws that had been put in for the leg straightening. However, after the 2009 surgery, the surgical leg is longer than the non-surgeried leg. We're all pretty sure that that imbalance is what caused the calf muscle tear in my non-surgeried leg!
Just got to sit and wait it out AND DRIVE MY POOR HUSBAND BONKERS IN THE MEANTIME. He earns it
