Sue--I'm going to assume you meant August 28, unless you are thinking about our November DL trip, which you are welcome to join us on as well. (Okay, teachers, I know that's grammatically incorrect. I'm still on vacation. )

Sherry--Love the idea of a Mickey room! We have an unused bedroom--well, it is being used to store a bunch of stuff we own but have no other place for--but I'd like to clean it out and do something with it, specifically I'd like to use it for scrapbooking and sewing. A Disney-themed room sounds like something to think about.

If there's going to be a Disneyland meet, count me in! I won't be staying at a hotel, but I'd love to do Disneyland and the parade/fireworks!

The kids started school today. Three are in new schools- kindergarten, middle school, and high school. For me it is the FIRST time in 14+ years that I will have an daily extended time to myself!! Oh what to do?! scrapbooking is the first call to order.

We are free on August 28 for a meet. I have not told anyone about the opportunity because they don't do well with advanced warning. I will put it on the calendar so we don't double book. It will be a school night so leaving by 7:00 pm will be necessary.

It does not look like a DL trip is in our future, although I did book hotel rooms. I'd better remember to cancel them in time.....We do talk nightly about out next trip. Have the globe marked with stickers: Iceland, Egypt, France, Portugal, Costa Rica, Alaska, Japan, SE Asia, Australia. Not sure when or how long we would be gone. It is hard now that we have a high-school. Last time we pulled the kids out of school for nine weeks (k & 2nd). Not sure how middle & high school teachers would like that....they don't allow independent study. Certainly I could unenroll and home school for the time and then reenroll but not sure how the credits would work. Fortuanly some big Ivy League school are now seeing the merit of travel and I read that Harvard for one was trying to include "travel" as a requirement for graduation. i'm sure it is not that simple but the concept was that they valued the "education" that students recieved as part of such an experience.

Anyway I am trying to wean myself from hours of internet and the kids have been monolpolizing the computer playing Lego Star Wars. I'll try to check in but for some reason I get all the emails for the May Repo cruise but rarely get them for our meet. it usually involves logging in and search for the july 2 link. I am totally depressed knowing that we are not going on another cruise. Even the thought of travelling does not make the feeling fade. It does help knowing that I don't need to tile or paint my house. Needs it but not doing it.

our story: 18 month old John flushed a roll of tape (the kind shaped like a donut in a metal case). the toilet was slow to flush, we ignored it until the day I went potty and left to carpool kids from school. Returned home after 40 minutes to find 2 inches of water in bathroom. Carpets WET, drywal WET 2 inches high, through walls to hall. $6000 worth of damage and two months of repair: tile, carpet, drywall, painting. He was SO cute then that he did not get in much trouble for it....

So, it seems that 100 degree temp. is a way of life for you. It has been at or over 100 here for 11 days. We had not reached that high of a temp. for ten years. The temp. and our high humidity makes it unbearable. Your Mickey room sounds really cute, plus it is done just my way.(on a budget) We are in the process of refinishing two pieces of furniture for DS22 new apartment. Nothing to creative, just hoping to give new life to something old and very used... Your comment on all the K's and A's use in Hawaii made me laugh. Not at you, but me. I am a bit dyslexic, so all of there street names are really going to look the same to me. Maybe we will find the University of Hawaii, maybe we won't.... We will make sure to visit the Arizona Memorial.

As for a meet date, Aug. 28th works for us (Tim will be home from China by then, and the boys don't start school until the 29th - new school for all).

As for hiring out for remodels.... with another cruise to pay for, anything is possible. I can see it now... hanging out on the street corners with a big sign that reads "Will Tile for Disney Cruise"

Hey everyone..my dad has been really busy and tired we just got him a new car which means i will get his!! I'M SO EXCITED!! I hope everyone is having a really good summer...My dad needs the dates for the ron and sue meet at ur house and RON i'm sure my family would love to go up there...things are really busy around our house..i hope daves tile work came out good!! I know how woman get when things arent done right!! MY MOTHER!! haha well i have to go clean my room...what a summer this is!! Thanks for the card David say hi to your wife for me!! YOUR NEW PET IS SO CUTE!!

Being first time DCL cruisers, I was very excited to get a cute Castaway Club packet today in the mail. It had cards for our whole family, some newsy papers and questionairs and a CD/DVD to watch. Now we are offically part of the club.......woohoo!

Sherry--Evans great were going on 9 months i dont get my license till a week after my birthday, but my dad is being nice and picking him up for my birthday....Its so funny though because my mom still wont drive with me in the car and i get my license in less than 25 days!!

I was just noticing how few threads from completed cruises are on page 1. Ours, of course, and another one from July 17 and one from back in April.

The Castaway Club mailer seems to be pretty hit-or-miss. One CM told me they didn't send it out anymore, then Jill goes and gets one. I've seen threads where some people never get it at all and others who do. I wonder if there's some sort of rhyme or reason to it or if it's just random.

I'm hoping we get one, but only because it will give me another distraction from looking too far forward to our next cruise. I'm trying to look at short-term things that are coming up so I don't focus so much on something that's more than a year away. You know, baby steps to keep me distracted--school starting (okay, not the best one to start with); a new season of Survivor, which just so happens to be taking place in the Yucutan peninsula, the site of our next Disney Cruise ; our November trip to DL which will take place exactly one year to the day before our next cruise! Then it will be 2006, the year of our next cruise. It always comes back to Disney, doesn't it?

Ron, Sue, and all the other No. Cal-ers, we'll see you on the 28th.

We got the cd today. It is great..........we litsened to it while we mopped the family room, in preperation for the grout job tomorrow. Have I mentioned what a GREAT husband I have?????????

I'm back at school now. Teachers had to report yesterday, and I'm ready for another vacation; or at least another day in Cabo with all of you!!!!!

Sherry and Jim.......glad you liked the video. I've watched it so many times already, but it always makes me smile to see it again.
