How adorable -

I see you like sausage from the menu ;) I can still read some Italian. The menu you listed sounds delicious.

Is your wife holding your new addition "Mickey"? I want to see those rings enlarged please. I am jealous. :rolleyes2

I love sausage. Sassi also has a really wonderful ravioli. They change the filling each day. My favorites are pumpkin and duck. That is my wife holding Mickey. The one ring was for our engagement and the other (the canary) was a Christmas gift. Sorry for the picture, they are hard to photograph with the flash from the camera.

Oh my God! David! I knew they would be beautiful - you did not disappoint. I love both of them. Thanks for posting a picture of them :flower: Tell Monica - one or both of you have beautiful taste.

Hey Wendy,

Saw your thread right under ours and thought I'd pop in and say hi. I read that you maybe going to WDW in November. Something you may consider is staying at a DVC resort like Anna mentioned. I looked on line for you and a moderate hotel at Coronado Springs would cost about 2614.00 for one week. If you stayed in a 2bedroom condo in Old Key West resort and rented points at $10.00 a point... it would cost about 2560.00. We ate most meals in for 9 days last time and saved over $700.00 in food.

Staying on site is great. We take the bus system around. The boys even go on their own where they want to also. They just hop on the bus and away they go.

You also may want to look into tickets also. They have a new ticketing system called "Magic Your Way". The more day tickets you purchase the cheaper it is. We are considering purchasing a 10 day soon, jut before prices go up.

Anways.. there is my short pop in hello. Sorry to ramble on!

How many people could sleep in a 2-br condo? I'm just thinking that you'll be spending a lot on the cruise and to add another $2500 for lodging plus park tickets, food, etc., will add up. But if you want to share with some friends to split expenses...it just so happens that we'll be in Florida at the same time as you...

Now, if you buy the 10-day pass, how much time do you have to use it? Is it 10 days within a 30-day or 90-day period or a year? (And I have to figure out how many days will I have to sub :teacher: in order to pay for this.)

Betsy,

It definitely can all add up. You can rent points from anyone offering on the DVC rent/trade board. Most people charge $10.00 per point and the chart conversion is on the top of the page. A 2 bedroom would sleep 2 in a master bedroom, 4 kids possible in the second bedroom and another 2 in the family room on the couch. I know there is a maximum that the 2 bedroom can have, but don't know what the number is. I think it would be possible for you and Wendy to share a 2 bedroom.

Park tickets...they offer different days (3 - 10 days) with different options. The more days you purchase, the cheaper it is. Each option will cost extra. You can add park hopping option (where you can hop to all 4 major parks in one day). There is the Plus Visit Option that allows you to waterparks, Disney Quest, Pleasure Island and Wide World of Sports. There is the Expiry Ticket that expires 14 days after the first time you use it. And then there is the No Expiry option that never expires. We will more likely than not get the 10day, parkhopper, no expiration, plus ticket. That way it should last us another 2 or 3 visits to WDW in the future. That will lock the price of the tickets also.

I have a website for discount tickets that I use, but under Mousesaver policy I can't anounce it on the Disboards. Next time I see you, just ask me.

We just got a Chinchilla named "Mickey". Photos below...

As for the Arizona get together, Sassi is a wonderful place and a nice location and good atmosphere. Monica and I don't cook so our opinion on what is expensive may not be all that relevant. My typical meal at Sassi is:

David

I don't cook either - just open packages from Costco and re-heat :goodvibes Actually, I'm not quite that bad!! I would love to be able to eat out every night - or should I say "dine" out :) Now I'm curious to see Sassi as well as Vicki. It looks more than we typically spend going out but we have done so on occasion.

Lovely rings Monica!

Mickey is awfully cute! What does Tinkerbell think of him? What does one do with a Chinchilla? Do they stay in a cage? pen? Do they interact with you? Sorry - I just don't know :goodvibes

Betsy, I thought I saw your car today - the license plate said "latte4u" :rotfl:

I'm still waiting for the weed eater story! Dave??? How about the toilet or drywall story to get us started? Fran, you'll have to post a picture when it's done!

I thought I'd join in and give my two cents on the baseboard issue - tile baseboards :flower:

Sue and Ron - "cocktails with Debbie Reynolds"? Story please?

Have a great weekend everyone!

Too funny you would suggest that. That's what we did in our laundry room. We did 12x12 ceramic tile on the floor, and 2 rows of 2x2 tiles as baseboard (cute ones with geode looking things in them). :teeth:

Well, time to go watch Lance win the Tour. Talk to you all later!

:cool1:

Well, it is 4:30 here, and we have been busy laying tile since about 10-ish. Now, you have to understand...........we are laying it on about 80% of our floor space.....so this WILL take time. IT LOOKS WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :hyper:

:love2: I MUST think of some way to repay Dave for this............hmmmmmm.....what can I do to show Dave my appreciation??????????? Better think on that! HA! :rotfl2:

Thanks for all the good wishes. Keep us in your thoughts as we continue tomorrow. ::yes::

Dave...........loved the rings!!!!! Does your "Mickey" take a dust bath in sand? Our friends have a Chinchilla, and that is how he takes a bath. It is too cute to watch!!!!!!!!

Back to the tile.....................

Some info. A studio can hold 4 people max. OKW has two queen beds and the other resorts have a queen bed and a sleep sofa. Microwave, toaster and small fridge/sink - mini kitchenette. Studio for Nov. for three nights (usually before Nov. 25 - is considered choice season - weeknights 8 pts per night, weekends 21 points per night - need your dates to see when they fall.

1 BDR also sleeps four. Huge master bedroom - huge bathroom and outside of bathroom, another sink and jacuzzi. Huge living room with sleep sofa, full kitchen, washer and dryer. 18 pts. per night for weeknight and 41 pts per night for weekend. Again this is assuming dates fall under choice season.

2 BDR sleeps eight - this is a 1 BDR connected to a studio described above. 24 pts per week night and 56 points per weekend night. No daily housekeeping if you rent from a member - you get trash and towel on the fourth day and full cleaning on the 7th day I belive. If you rent from a member - there is a lot of trust obviously involved. I have never done it - even though there are one or two people I can ask if I ever should need a few points (we usually treat friends or get a studio for son and friends). For three nights this whole process could be a small hassle - you can always go moderate or stay at one of the deluxe resorts. Definitely stay on site.

If you know you will not be going back to WDW anytime soon - buy three day Magic Your Way tickets with expiration - you might or might not need plusses - unless you plan on going to water parks - you might need them for Pleasure Island and Disneyquest though if you plan on squeezing this in.

Once you get the hang of this, it is not as complicated as it seems. You cannot transfer/give away any leftover hoppers anymore - they do a finger scan. I do think you can use them for DL though - have heard/read different stories.
Sorry for rambling on.

Sorry - forgot to add - those points per night are for OKW only. The other resorts are a few points higher per night. They all vary.

We are done for the night. Funny how Fran failed to tell you that Thursday night as we were going to sleep she decided that since all the carpet was pulled up that we should paint. I said your right but I am begining to lay tile on Saturday and I have to work on Friday! She went Friday morning to buy the paint and yes we painted our house Friday night.

After painting I started working on the DIS video. I got up at 6:30 this morning and finished it.

I have only heard from 3 people so if you want a copy, please PM me or Fran with your address. I have plenty of copies burned so I should be able to mail out pretty quick. Have a great night!

I missed something I guess! What is the Dis video?
Great job on the tiling.......I'm very jealous. We have many things on our to do list, and its tough to just get started.

Hi Dave- I hope I am one of the 3 people you've heard from :goodvibes Let me know if the DVD you want in replacement is DVD-R, DVD+R or any other configuration. Do you have our address already?

Wow, I was reading the posts from the Live 7/17-23 trip and their seas sounded pretty rough, both on the ship and the beaches/excursions. They mentioned some were cancelled due to rough seas and someone posted a picture of one of the pools with huge waves splashing out of it (although I believe it was taken from a different cruise date with the same 12 ft swells):

Glad our weather wasn't as bad. They handed out sick bags at the theatre for the shows.....yuck!!

Hey all! Sorry I have been absent as of late, but, I have been REALLY busy... I stayed up all night to get into DL early Sunday and it paid off, I got the pin, and made some new friends along the way (what, me be social, who woulda guessed) by the time we went through the gates I had a 20 person posse... lol... it was fun, and something I would only do once! I got some great pics of people camped out in DCA as the sun came up... kinda cute.... :faint:

JUDY- my phone died soon after I talked to you that last time, hope you got in ok and had a great day...! :confused3

Fran and Dave- Miss you guys, and hate to tell ya, but you shoulda pulled those base boards up.... airfare there to here and back is like under $150 a person so, you have no excuse to come visit, you two can stay at my house and we can drive to AZ for the meet... :cool1:

David- hey bro, have not heard from you, did you get too much of me? LOL... when is the meet and am I invited? I am booked all the way through 2007, you really should use Dreams Unlimited or AllSeasTravel.... they are way more dialed in than any other company for concierge stuff... :sunny:

Ron and Sue- When are you guys opening a clinic near me...? ;)

Jim and Family- You guys are welcome anytime at all, I have two spare bedrooms and a couch that folds out to a bed, so, Vegas is waiting for YOU! :jumping1:

Everyone else- I miss you all! Aside from Fran/Dave, who else is on the May 27th double scoop cruise with us? You should ALL sign up for that one.... how much fun could we have!?
:grouphug:

Ron........................don't you mean the May 27th???????? 'Cause that is the one that Fran and Dave are on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rolleyes1 $150.00 round trip, hmmmmmmmmmm........ :scratchin How can I convince Dave that we need to spend $300.00 on airfare??????????

Jill.......Dave took pictures that we took, and that other DIS people sent, and made a "mini slide show" to music. It is about 8 minutes long, and I personally think it is his best one!

Wendy....We have your address. (don't worry about the disc!) We also have Ron, Jim's and Sherry's. Anyone else want one???????

It is 10:00 here, and we're back at work on the tile. And yes, Dave was right........Thusday night, I did come up with the crazy idea to repaint the house, since we emptied the rooms and pulled up the carpet. And, while standing in Home Depot.....I decided to paint the wall that the sofa sits against a dark chocolate brown. SURPRISE, Dave! :love2:
