July 2, 2005 - WE ARE THERE!!!

Vickie, no I don't scrapbook. I like to look at them though :goodvibes I have a few friends who do but I have managed to just say "no". I don't get the things I need to get done finished so I don't need to get into that (yet ;) ) They opened a store called Recollections over here - is there one over there? I think it's related to Michael's. I have been in it a couple of times. It's pretty impressive. I've gone and visited with the girls while they're "working" on their pages. Wow, 900 pictures! Good for you! I have 125 or so. Of course a bunch are not any good.

Dave, that is a wonderful picture of Tinkerbell! I love the outfit! The tiara Sue mentioned would be great!

As for an Arizona get-to-gether....We're up for anything. You guys would have a better idea of a place in Scottsdale. We can leave Shane and Bryce at home since they're really the only "kids". We'd also be happy to have you over here - we're about 3 miles north of the new stadium if that gives you any idea. The Glendale Arena looks dwarfed next to it!

Sue, would you pass along that raspberry mojito recipe? Sound yummy. I should try to find a recipe for those Wabojito's (sp?) that Fran had at Cabo Wabo's.

Lisa, I think I would cry too :umbrella:

Anna, we tend to think that Fran and Dave's son Steven gave our sons a little heads up about charging in the arcade :goodvibes They only spent what they had. I was very surprised we didn't have a problem!

I can't remember what else I was going to comment on so I'll stop rambling!

Dave that is one cute dog,
How much hair does she have on the top of her head.
enough to hold a barrett. In one of My catalogs there is a little tiara I almost bought once.

Sadly, Tinkerbell has hair everywhere except her head (just like me!). We bought her a little tiara but it does not stay on all that well. Any information you have on doggie catalogs would be appreciated as Monica loves to buy new things for Tink. You will have to send photos of your little ones as well.

Monica and I love an Italian place in Scottsdale called Sassi. It is in the middle of nowhere (Jomax and Alma School) but has amazing views. We spend most of our evenings at our other restaurants Donovan's (31st street and Camelback) and The Capital Grille (24th street and Camelback). Let us know if you are up for dinner, I think we are going out tonight!

Here is a recipe straight from Sammy Hagar:

Cabo Waboritas

Ingredients:
1 oz. Cabo Wabo tequila
1/2 oz. Damiana liquor (or triple sec) for sweetness
1/2 oz. lime juice
Tons of ice

To prepare glasses, rub half a lime around the rims, then dip in a saucer of salt.

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and pour in equal amounts of lime juice (1/2 oz.)and Damiana liquor (1/2 oz.); add tequila (1oz.). Shake thoroughly, then pour into prepared glasses.

I got the waborita recipe off the website........but I can't find the ones that Sherry and I had.........the ones with "the salad" mixed in. Can you get that one???????

Dave and I can ALWAYS do a DisneyWorld meet! Just name the day!!!!! :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Sue........how do you make Rasp. Mojitos?

Dave has not had a chance to start the dvd yet. We were really busy this weekeend. We have started pulling up all the carpet in the house, so that Dave can start laying tile from the front door all the way to the pool. :love2:

Happy Tuesday!

Was it the Cabo Wabo Mojito? If so:

2-3 oz Light rum
Lime Juice (1 oz)
2 tsp Sugar
2-4 Mint sprigs (very important!)
Soda water
Preparation:
Lightly smash the mint and sugar with a splash of soda water in a mixing glass until the sugar is dissolved and you can smell the mint. Squeeze the lime into the glass, add the rum and pour into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Strain over cracked ice in a highball glass. Top with soda water, garnish with mint sprig and serve.

Sauni

I'm curious for those digital photographers, how do you print your pictures?
We have tried Shutterfly, Ofoto and Snapfish and find them all about the same. Snapfish seems to have the best prices, although Shutterfly processes and ships faster (I ordered 1/2 mine from each last week and got the shutterfly last friday and the Snapfish yesterday). Shutterfly also has deals with free shipping and free 8x10's and 11x14's sometimes too.
Just wondering if there are other options that we haven't heard of.

Depending how quick one needs to pictures. Costco and Walmart have one hour service (Costco 17 cents each, Walmart 19 cents each). If you are not in need of the one hour service, I believe the pricing is less. I believe that Snapfish is affilated with Costco. Vickie had me recently order 332 photos for her scrap booking effort. That was 332 out of about 850.

I am ordering some more this week for my daughter.

Bump--we're sinking to the bottom of the page!

We've got as far as downloading our photos onto the computer, but I haven't done anything with them yet. I plan to scrapbook them, but realistically by the time I get around to that part, I'll be doing photos from our 2005 and 2006 cruises together. (I'm still working on my Hawaii 2002 scrapbook.)

I am married to the Scrapbook Nazi
He likes to have them done within 1-2 weeks after we get home. They are not as elaborate as I would like but hey they get done. Otherwise I would put it off forever with all my ideas that I never have all the time to get it done. He does a great job. I got lucky last week when Ryan got kicked out of daycare. Ron decided to keep the kids home while he did all the garden work and housework. Guess What when I came home Friday and the book was done and there was no evidence of the creation unlike when I get involved. He did a great job

As for the recipes for Mojitos I am not known for strictly following recipes, but this is what I did

Mash a 1/2 lime with 4-5 large mint leaves add to Glass
Mash 9-10 raspberries add to glass
Crush Ice add to glass
Add 1 jigger Bicardi Limon
Add Sprite to top off

I was using cheap disposable glasses so I didn't crush the ingredients in the glass but I did not have to wash the glasses and the end of the night either. I will tell you that as the night wore on I wasn't as precise and the drinks tasted fine. :drinking1 :drinking1

Dave Email me at ronandsue@thevision.net and give me your address I will send you a premier copy of a new pet magazine published in Modesto. I will put up a picture of Tinker Too very soon :goodvibes

Work Has been exhausting I feel like they saved all the cases while I was on vacation and let me have it now. :confused3 :confused3

More later

This reminded me--we have been getting a ton of mileage out of our July 4 plastic champagne glasses from the cruise. Eric uses them for orange juice every morning and for dinner when he can.

But unfortunately they have to be washed afterwards and after a birthday party I was ready to throw it all away but you can bet I did show off my 4th of July glasses at the party

Jim.........

Tell Kim that the Gulf temp. was 91 this morning! That info. plus the fact that we have a faster jet-ski should be enough to get you guys to visit!!!!!! :sunny:

Sue.....thanks for the drink recipe! :love2: Dave is going to start laying tile this weekend. :love2: Looks like the ingredients would be cheaper to buy that the divorce attorney we may need when it is all said and done. :rotfl2: (sometimes Dave gets.............."grouchy" when doing home improvement type work. Ask him about his weed-eater episode!) :rolleyes1 However......I have to say..................YEAH! I'm FINALLY getting the tile I wanted..........so, I love ya, Dave!!!!!!

Fran
:teacher:

I've become pretty good at tile work, and as far as home improvement projects go it is a pretty easy one for our family. Good luck guys!

BTW... we just came home from camping and jet skiing! It was fun watching Jake get flipped out of the tube we were towing from the big one. Man we plowed through the gas (I guess 7 hours of water play will do that)! Have fun in the gulf, our water was probably only 75 degrees.

I have know idea what she is talking about. Give me crown and coke and everything is fine. Hope she ( Fran ) does not mind slightly crooked tile :rotfl:

Dave

I
have know idea what she is talking about.

Go ahead honey......................tell them the weed-eater story!

Tell them about the toilet in our bathroom.

Tell them about installing drywall in PA.

Fran
:teacher:

oh no, not toilet stories! We don't do bathroom re-models if they go beyond paint and towels. That's why our bathroom waits patiently for the tile job (and may wait for MUCH longer before it gets done).

David i think ur dog is adorable i wish i could have a dog but i wouldnt want to take care of it i'm to excited to drive! i dont think i'll ever be home!! Wendy-- When the plumber was here the other day I asked him about tiling bathrooms and installing toilets. He looked at our tiling job and said that if we can do what we did, we should have no trouble installing a toilet. I think it's time to take the plunge. (Get it? Plunge? I crack myself up! :rotfl2: )

Background information for anyone who's interested--Wendy taught me how to tile last year. She and I almost singlehandedly tiled my entry, laundry room, hallway and dining room. DH tries to take credit for it, but all he did was cut tile. And that was after Wendy and I had finished most of it already. ( :love2: Thanks for that, though, dear.) In the kitchen and nook, I set and grouted every piece of that tile myself, although I couldn't have done it without Wendy, Tim and DH who helped A TON with the measuring and did all of the cutting. I have yet to learn to use the tile saw.

Now drywall is another story...

I was wondering if anyone has a recipe for the orange blossom syrup that was used with the fruit? Is it something that comes in a jar? Bottle? Did anyone buy the DCL recipe book? Thanks!
