For clarification, yes, Buttonwillow IS a town (as is Pumpkin Center and Weedpatch)! See what all of you who live outside of CA are missing! :rotfl:
And you thought all you were missing out on were the earthquakes! :goodvibes

As the sign at the foot of the grapevine used to say SUN FUN STAY PLAY! See you all next weekend! :grouphug:

I would love to see a picture of what the town of "Buttonwillow" looks like. It sounds like a cute town to live in. We also have a town called Pumpkin Center here in Arizona.

The meet at 2:30 sounds great. Four of us will be there... Vickie, Ben, Ashley and Aubrey. Three of us will participate in the gift exchange. Can't convince hubby on this one. He doesn't understand why we would want to pack anything extra. Also there will be the same four at the 4th of July Roy Disney Suite party. (All are above the age of sixteen ... incase you are checking I.D.'s at the door). Thank you Ron and Dave for sharing your space.

We still have another whole week of work. Although I probably will take Friday off so I can pack and do errands. We fly out Saturday morning ... early.

Thanks for the check list of items Clarrisa.

A few weeks back there was a discussion on this board in regards to the birth certificates. I have looked for it and can not find it. Does anyone remember when it was or approximately the post #?

Thanks,
Vickie ::MickeyMo

Ron & Dave, You can count 2 more for the Party in RD suite - :cool1:

2:30 sounds fine for the cruise meet - we will be there... ::MickeyMo

Betsy, we are staying close to Buttonwillow on Friday eve. We will be at America's Best Inn - Bakersfield off of I5. Should arrive @ approx 10:00.

Clarissa, great list.

Jim

Ron we will be there for the 4th. Thanks for the info on the activity for the 4th :cool1:

(needalatte) Valley Springs is about 25 miles east of Stockton next to lake Camache :sunny:

Crystal is looking forward to pin trading, however her mother has dibs on the Stitch pins. So she can't trade those

We will be at the Dis meet at 2:30 bags in hand

Can't wait to go :wizard: princess: pirate: :3dglasses

Hi All,

There will be 12 of us, with gift bags in hand for the DIS party at 2:30 and 8 of us for the 4th of July Party. Both sound like they will be swell (you just don't hear that word enough nowadays...).

Clarissa, that was a fantastic list! I will be printing it out to use as a checklist for my packing as well. The only thing that I will be adding is something to treat/prevent an upset tummy. My DH has a tendency to have foods not agree with him and then he gets grumpy.

Well, it is late here and I am bushed so I am going to head off into the arms of Morpheus as I have a show tomorrow night and should try to be well rested (as if I can sleep with the cruise so close that I can almost taste the oft lauded and mentioned Chocolate Lava cake).

Take care & have a terrific day!

Good Morning!

Ahhhhhh..........this time next week, I'll be in Disneyland. I'll get to see that Fantasmic show, then back to the hotel to pack FOR THE CRUISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOTs of last minute things to do this weekend. Kelly and Steven have dentist appt. this morning. Then it is gymnastics practice for Kelly.......and then we begin a tradition in our house. I like to call it "Pre-vacation out to eating." The rule is that you really should not cook those last few days before a vacation. (and since we leave Tuesday, this rule will take effect tonight!) Lucky for me, XLT goes along with this line of thinking. Tonight....it's mexican! Pass the chips and salsa!!!

Take Care have a GREAT time :rockband: :dancer: :disrocks:

Hey Tammy.....Of course I am thinking about work.......that is why I saw your message so quickly :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Only 2 more " work" days left.

Dave

hi! just a reminder that 2 baithing suits were not enough for me on our first cruise. they were not dry and there is nothing harder than tring to pull on a wet bathing suit let along how it feels! packing this weekend!! talk soon lisa

Work? What's that? I know I have to be somewhere in a half hour, but work?? The concept is foreign to me.

:teacher: I just think "Cruise...vacation...cruise...vacation" all day. I don't know what all those kids are sitting there waiting for... :teacher:

Is this another excuse to go shopping??

Okay, can I just say AVOID "PRICELINE" whenever the urge to go "frugal" hits?! :badpc: We decided that since we did not really have a preference as to where to stay the night before we embark (and the places people had recommended early on in this thread were booked), we thought... "let's be adventurous and try something new." :rotfl: Now I know why I prefer being a planner! :earseek: We are driving down as 2 adults and 2 kids (needalatte has offered to have my middle son ride down with them). I requested a room 2 Adults/2 Kids. For a very reasonable price we were booked into a room at the Hilton Suites Anaheim/Orange (thought we might walk around Downtown Disney some on Friday evening). :Pinkbounc The Priceline site said that to request non-smoking room we would have to call the hotel directly (DH is VERY sensitive to cigarette smoke). So, I called the hotel (you can see I'm sure where this is headed). No guarantees for non-smoking room (best hope is to check-in by 3pm - did I mention that would mean leaving home by 6am)? But that's not the best part... our room has 1 King bed! :sad2: 4 of us can sleep on that right?! :bounce: :bounce:  (this is me, my 2 sons, and DH) Hilton told me that no rooms are available with double beds (but the sofa folds out into a sleeper). I'm optimistic in general, but a small part of me can just see our family scrambling to find an available non-smoking hotel room somewhere else at the last minute (having to spend extra money on the room, as well as being out the money we've already spent on Priceline). So... lesson learned! Do not use Priceline... avoid the unnecessary stress and PLAN AHEAD!

There will be 6 0f us at the Roy Disney Suite. We'll be coming from Palo brunch.

Gift bag shopping is done, door signs are done, pirate costumes are getting there.
Fran, we do not leave until very early Sat. morning,(july 2) but I was just wondering, do you think it would be to early to put the non-cooking before vacation rule in effect here at my house? :rotfl:

The kids and I spent the day at the beach and the weather couldn't have been more beautiful. It made me very excited for the cruise next week! It was also good for a trial run on all the little things you end up using with little ones at the beach (ie water shoes, sun hat and shirts, etc) :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Count my family of 4 in for the 2:30 meet on sat with 2 raffle bags at hand
Count 2 of us for the 4th of July party in the roy suite (Thanks, Ron!) at least for a little while. (could only get flounders until 2:30 pm)

Hi All,

Well, with the exception of libations, I have officially finished all my shopping in preparation for the cruise! :bounce: I am so pleased that I can hardly stand it. Now all I have left to do is laundry, pack, unpack, repack, pack again and then pack some more (I figure it will keep me occupied during what I am quite sure will be a long week during which I will be able to get very little done (oweing to my lack of ability to concentrate).

I do still need to finish the two pirate costumes for the girls pirate: . Oh, and for anybody who is interested, check your local .99 cents only store as I found magnetic door signs complete with dry erase pen and appropriate fishy/nautical theme there today.

Hope all of you are well and that you are looking forward to a fun weekend. I am getting ready for my show tonight (I am in the Studio City Cast of "Joey & Maria's Comedy Italian Wedding at the Sportsman's Lodge - If anyone wants to see the show, just PM me and I will give you info on how to get discount tickets).

Take care & have a terrific day!
