July 2, 2005 - WE ARE THERE!!!

My docs were sitting on my kitchen table when I returned tonight from the coast.

My head is spinning after reading about gift exchange. I think I've got it. Green for kids, red for adults

Congratulations Ron. I looked up the tounament on the web. That was a huge event. Celebrating 50 years. Glad to hear about your grandfather. Grandparents are so special.

Jim did you get your 11 am Los Veranos docs?
Betsy, did you book all 7 of you?

Blurry eyed from driving for 7 hours in a PACKED surburban with 8 people. Tested out dramamine, works on the little kids, but gives me and the two big kids headaches. Switched to Bonine. No illness at all!! Big sigh, one less worry.

Good Night.
Darcy

 I agree with Amy, just let us know the time and place - the first rule of life for all us compulsive planners is always be willing to change. Should everyone want to change the time to 2:30 (can not do at 4 as that is the time for drill) or 4:30 (time of sail-a-way) just let us know. Any other suggestions?

We will be bringing some pins to trade (including one of the DCL) - Have a pin of Stitch under a tree that my DS may like to trade.

Betsy, where are you staying at Buttonwillow? We are also stopping close to there Friday evening.

Ron, Congrats on becoming State Champ (should we all just call you champ now), also truly enjoyed reading the good news as to your Grandfather.

Chelsea, I will pass you info to my DD.

Congrats to those doing the docs dance

Jim

Darcy, I recieved a e-mail that the change was made but no docs. I will e-mail Sylvie again. Jim

Crystal--DS10 is bringing pins to trade. He's a big Stitch fan. He won't trade a Stitch pin away, but if you have one he doesn't have, he'll try to trade for it for sure! But he also loves to trade just for the fun of trading.
We're bringing some to trade too. My daughter loves princesses, I love Pooh, 1 son loves Hook & Indiana Jones and hubby likes white faced mickey's and Steamboat Willie.
Huge pin release scheduled at Dland for 6/24!
Jill

Hi All,

First and foremost, we will be bringing pins to trade (MIL collects the DL Castle, FIL collects Tigger & patriotic Mickey, DG's 10 are both into the princesses, DB 15 is a big Donald fan and DB 7 likes just about anything.

I will be bringing a bunch of stuff to trade and am interested in things from DCL and anything else that the folks in my group want. Should be fun.

Regarding the party/meet & greet... We will be arriving a the port around 11 am or so (assuming that traffic does not louse things up) and I am hoping that we will be on the ship by 1. I don't know if this is feasible, but I am inclined to think that 2:30/2:45 might be better than 4. Otherwise I would be inclined to say that we should push it till even later that day 4:30 or 5. I don't know for sure as this is all new to me. You seasoned cruise vets need to weigh in on this one to give us newbies some guidance.

Oh, and it is GREEN for adults, RED for kids and WHITE for either age on the ribbons for the gifts.

Legalbriefs, I am also very pleased to hear of your grandfathers remarkable recovery. My you both enjoy many more happy, healthy years together.

Well, lot's to do... door signs... gift drawing numbers... pirate costumes... count the minutes...

Until next time, take care and have a terrific day!

Wow - more to decide :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: -

I think 2:30 for dismeet (give or take 10 minutes) sounds good - should give us at least an hour - but I am game. We can always go back up after drill.

Jim - did I read right a few pages ago - you will be updating list one last time this week-end?

Thanks for clarifying the age group Legalbriefs. I know my 17 yr. old would love to see the Roy Suite. I also hope he (almost 18 yr. old) does not get to miss too much on the Magic with his brother (who is over the 18 plus group now).

Mokehill--Wendy is the one who booked Los Veranos, but I'm sure she booked all seven of us. Riley will stay in the Kids Club.

Jim--We'll be staying at whatever cheap motel has a room available. We can't leave town until DH gets off work, probably 6 PMish. Do you want to meet for breakfast on Saturday, or will you be long gone by that time? (There's an IHOP down the road or a Starbucks at Buttonwillow. But if you know where Buttonwillow is, you probably know the Starbucks!) :goodvibes

2:30 sounds good. If we start later than that (5:00, as was suggested) won't that interfere with early seating dinner?

Good luck everyone with the packing, traveling, and getting there. No more exploding heads, okay? :earseek: Relax...see you in a week! :grouphug:

Hello everyone -

Ron (legalbriefs) and I have talked at length about the reception in our suite. As mentioned earlier, the age of those in attendance should be 16 or older. I would also like to get a preliminary head count so that we can plan for this day and have an appropriate amount of snacks and other goodies on hand. We would not want to be bad hosts!

For addition to the final update, Ron and I have switched a few of our shore excursions. For Puerto Vallarta we have added: Historic Towns and Tequila Making (this will make for two "tequila" day trips, see a pattern here?). For Cabo San Lucas we have changed to: Cabo Resort Pool Getaway. I reasoned that there was no need to go on the sport fishing tour if I can't keep the 400 pound fish I know I would have caught.

I fly into Los Angeles next Friday and after dinner at the Magic Castle will rendezvous with Ron at the hotel later that evening (I am married, so it is not what you are thinking :earsboy: ). We will see everyone bright and early the next day as we board the Magic for a week of fun!

Please let us know if we can do anything to make the Roy Suite reception more enjoyable. We look forward to meeting everyone and having an excellent week at sea.

DH and I plan on attending the July 4th party in the Roy Suite, and the entire family will be there for the cruise meet (if someone decides when it should be). :goodvibes

Jim- the Buttonwillow exit on I5 that Betsy was referring to (with the Starbucks) is what is called the Bakersfield exit (even though Bakersfield is actually a few miles to the East of 5). You see, I lived much of my childhood in Bakersfield, so I am very familiar with every possible escape route (I mean freeway exit) out of town! :moped:

I think we've finished the purchasing, now we have to start packing... :cool1:

Plus, I need to go check the DL forum to see if anyone knows when in November that the mouse will have finished decorating his house for Christmas. After all, we have to start planning the next trip too!

Thanks for clarifying that exit, Wendy. I didn't realize that there was even more than one exit to Buttonwillow. Is there actually a town?

We're staying along I-5 where the truck stop, fast food strip, and, of course, Starbucks are (because I will needalatte). I should probably go ahead and make a reservation at one of the dives--er--motels because you never know, being a Friday night and all. But I was serious about breakfast if you and your family are there and want to say hi. Let me know what time. I'll wear lime green, but I can't vouch for DH or DS. I'll be the one all wide awake, bouncy and raring to go by 6:00 AM. You'll recognize the rest of my family because, well, they won't be. In truth, DH will not want to be up and leaving before 8:00 because he will have been working all week and driving all night. I will let him sleep because I want him enjoying this cruise :love2: (and I will want to rebook :rotfl2: ).

Betsy

WOW!...........with so many of you on the west coast, I go to bed, and wake up to 2 pages of chit chat! :)

2:30 sounds fine to me. :goodvibes

DisneyNut......The friend from the 6/11 cruise that I spoke to said her DH and DS took the fishingtrip. Paid lots of money and never even got a nibble! Maybe you made wise choice. ;) XLT and I will be at the "Roy Party". On our October cruise, our friend "Beano" had the Roy suite. DCL was bending over backwards to help him with his DIS party.

Ron......Congrats on your win!!!! Warm wishes for your grandfather!

Amy.....sorry to hear about your "head". :rotfl: :rotfl: See Dave at the terminal. I know he'll have something to make you feel better! ;)

Fran
:teacher:

There will be two of us at the Roy suite party.

Ron: Congratulations on your TKD tournament win--my DS is a black belt (retired) so we've sat through a few tournaments in our time. Nothing at fantastic as yours was, though. He's on to fencing now--inspired by Star Wars at a very young age.

My Dh will try to get to the July 4 party but with 2 little ones, we may not. I might be able to pass the 2 yo off as 16 years old but the 1yo can pass for 14 years old tops. :earboy2: Anyway, I'll see what the rest of our group is doing and see if they can watch them. We already booked our 10 hours of Flounders. 2:30 sounds great for Saturday!! See you all in 9 days!! Amy :flower:

For clarification, yes, Buttonwillow IS a town (as is Pumpkin Center and Weedpatch)! See what all of you who live outside of CA are missing! :rotfl:
And you thought all you were missing out on were the earthquakes! :goodvibes

As the sign at the foot of the grapevine used to say SUN FUN STAY PLAY! See you all next weekend! :grouphug:

There will be 3 of us at the "Roy" party. I can't wait.

The van has been in the shop 2 times in the last 3 days. I know we are not driving to CA, but we do need to get to Chicago, which is about a 3 hour drive. We are also headed to St. Louis this weekend to catch a couple Cardinal baseball games. I sure hope we don't have anymore trouble...The van is only a year old. I thought these troubles should start much later. (at least wait until it is 2 years old :confused3 ) It seems I have a vacation curse. Usually it is a break down of the washer or dryer. One year it was a flooded basement the day before departure(leaking water heater) I should be use to these little mishaps, but it never seems to get any easier...All I can think is Magic hurry and take me away!!

Angie

First of all, I'm adding my congratulations to Ron on the Championship and the recovery of his grandfather. May the magic continue for you!

DD and I will be at the DIS meet whenever and wherever it is with gift bags in hand. We will also join in the festivities at the Roy Suite (thank you, Ron).

See you all soon, Judy

I spoke with someone today who went on the cruise last week, and she said that the Jellyfish are still creating trouble on Mazatlan (just an FYI for anyone planning on doing beach stuff in Mazatlan - like we are).

Four of us will be at the Roy Suite - :cool1: :cool1:

Will check in later - gotta get dinner ready.

there will bw 4 of us attending the 4th roy disney party. ! thanks again for being so kind to share your suit. what time!?! yes, i heard that jelly fish can be a problem this time of year. thanks for that update, well talk soon lisa
