July 2, 2005 - WE ARE THERE!!!

Hello All,
I'm counting down. I am still a teacher in my heart but I currently work in the LAUSD district office as a reading coordinator. I work year round. I'm spending every free moment researching this cruise . :sunny: I was able to book Randi horseback riding. :earsgirl: I'm still holding out for the Dolphin excursion for DD-7yrs old if not it will be a day at the beach in PV. Sunday afternoon couples spa and Palo dinner at 7pm. We have main dinner seating for all other nights.

I agree with 4fosterkids about not over scheduling the vacation. I have a bad habit of overdoing it. I definitely want to be able to relax and play it by ear just a little. This will be a stretch for me.Oh by the way, we are in 6592. I can't wait to see the Roy Suite. Thanks for including us again. The reports from onboard are great!!!

What's a passporter?
A passporter is from a company that does a travel guide & planner and they just came out with a new DCL edition in May, that included our West Coast cruise. I got it for my birthday. You can check out their website at passporter.com as they have many other guides and information for other trips as well.
If there is something you want looked up, let me know and I'll see if it is in mine.
Jill

Thanks Jill,
Wow, I learn something new everyday about this vacation thing... :) Is there a meeting time and date yet?
Karen :cheer2:

Go ahead, ask me when I'm going on my Disneyland/West coast Cruise........................................................................

THIS MONTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc

I know.......we don't sail until July 2. However, we fly to LA on the 28th.......so I'm counting THAT as the start of this whole thing.

Now to just pass the time........ :bored: Another problem......being home for 28 days with the kids and JUNK FOOD.....ALL DAY LONG!!!!!!!!!!Why is it that a banana never calls my name, but the Salsa Flavored Doritos do?????
Can anyone else relate???????

I am so excited. Although my family is getting kind of tired of all of my cruise and Disneyland talk...
I can also relate to the junk food. My weakness is anything chocolate! I beleive I have an addiction.....
I will get away from this computer and start the big brown truck watch. I hope to see him today....
Angie

I'm getting really nervous about flying( honestly- I'm dreading it) as the cruise gets closer even though I can't wait to get on the ship. I haven,t flown since 1987and did'nt like it then. we're on the same flight as AnnaS and my parents. I'm hoping that will help. My DD and one DS have never flown. Any advice?

Did someone say chocolate?? Definitely my downfall too. But...my new bestfriend is chocolate slim fast....I've lost over 10 lbs and hoping for a few more before the cruise..and then if I gain a few that week I won't be too devastated!
Speaking of brown.....that chocolate colored UPS truck hasn't been on my street yet since I've been home from work!

Jim, I am using my sons laptop. I have not been able to print it out yet. My brother took my computer to have it looked at. I hate the laptop - cannot naviagate.
Sorry for the sloppy message. will try to check in again soon.

Someone asked earlier, and I didn't see a response to it. The new passporter is WAY better than the birnbaum book. I bought them together from amazon, and now feel I don't really need the birnbaum one. But, that's what eBay is for right? :goodvibes

Deb- Two cruises in 2 months would be fun, but my hubby would not like what it would do the the budget! Besides, a 14 day cruise would only mean more shopping... wait, is that a negative thing or a positive thing??? I'm confused...

Jim....Did you get the PM that I sent you? I could not tell if it went through. I would like a copy of the list in Word format if you would not mind.

Thanks

Dave

My passport came today! Yippee!! My DD already has hers as she went to Italy last summer. No cruise docs yet, though.

Is everyone reading Deb's trip report live from the ship? She talked about the Canopy Tour, the horseback ride throught the "rain forest" and the PV tour. It all sounds so exciting.

Thanks for the info on the Passporter. I'll see if they carry them at Barnes & Noble and use my gift certificate :o)

Hey Judalyne, I just noticed your location. My mom-in-law lives in MV, as do my hubby's brother (& his family). More family in Laguna Hills and Newport Beach. Being so close, are you planning on getting a ride to the port, leaving a vehicle parked there, or taking a shuttle? We're considering staying with family the night before the cruise and checking on transportation options. Any guesses about how long it takes to get from MV to the port mid morning (family lives about 5 miles away from I-5)? -Wendy

Hello everyone, Well I can't believe that we are one month away

Dave, I did get your PM for the list and sent it to you that day. I sent you another copy today. Please let me know if you receive it.

Wendy, I recieved your email and sent you a copy of the list today. Let me know if you have trouble recieving it.

My advise for flying is bring snacks, and small items to do, such as cards, to help the time go faster. I know it does not help much, however, flying is much saver than driving, specially in CA. :moped:

OK - now that Dave and Fran recieved thier docs (didn't we all know they would be first :smooth: : ) it is time to finalize the DIS MEET :grouphug: . While Deck 7 area would be fine, our group has multiplied recently - I suggest DECK 10 - Let's discuss.

Jim

Thanks Jim- I got the info, and sent you an update. Now... I just need to be patient and wait for the cruise docs and swimsuit! Anyone see the brown truck headed for my house??? :cool1:

Deck 10 is good. How about right above Pinocchio's Pizzaria; just in front of the rear stack. This way there will be a good view of the castoff party and stage area.

That sounds like a great place to meet. I never have been on the magic, so make it simple for us rookies :teeth: - What Time?

Hey Wendy, sounds like you have a lot of family here in so cal! If you stay with family, can't they drop you off at the docks?

It will probably take a little less than an hour to get to the port. When we went down to see the ship off last Saturday afternoon it was exactly 1 hour.

I have a friend that will be dropping DD and me off (DH will be fishing up in Mammoth). DH will do the honors for the ride home.

Thanks Jim- I never thought of bringing cards- good idea. deck 10 is a great place to meet.We had a disboards meet there on our last cruise. It's not crowded and you cna see everything.

We got it!!!!

I think I may have been guilty of deleting the first one, not realizing that it wasn't junk mail. OOPS!

We may need to rethink our DIS party time. Our docs say that we depart San Pedro at 4:00. This would mean that the lifeboat drill would be around three. We may need to watch the next cruise out and check with them for a better time frame.

Big brown truck came to my house again yesterday.....but just to bring DS's Lands' End sandles. If I see him today, I'll send him to go find everyone else's docs. :) hahahahahahahahaha

Now........I'll pray that UPS visits all of you today, if you all will pray that the U S Poastal service sends my kids their passports today!!!!!!!!!!! If they don't come by tomorrow, I have a phone # I'm suppose to call. Why am I worried?????????? :sad2:
