July 2, 2005 - WE ARE THERE!!!

I am sitting here FREAKING OUT about that development. :sad2:

Maybe what they mean is that our reservations are "locked" and no changes can be made to them. Since this is my FIRST cruise I don't know, but Disney being Disney I would expect you you cancel on the ship.

I would do it first thing..."Hey, I'm helping you...now there is room for someone who did not plan ahead." I guess they could also say no, until they fill your spots.

I could help you post signs on the wall. Act Quick, there is room for Marietta's Islands in PV excursion. See the rowdy crowd down on Deck 2 Aft. Sign up now.

Even though that joking has me feeling better, the delay in solving this is making me FREAK OUT AGAIN. :worried: Hang in there. At the terminal find Dave for a Crown and Coke to calm your nerves. :drinking1

Back from errands one way, now errands the other way. AND it is so HOT :sunny: Onward, to the DUMP and fill her up please. Should I take my Minnie ball off the antena while parking in long term at Sac International?

I unpacked and pulled out two things....aren't you proud?!!

:hourglass Closer still
Darcy

Thanks for your empathy, Darcy. I'm hoping this is just a case of res agents saying what they're supposed to say but that the reality is that Disney wants happy :sunny: customers. I'm hoping there's a waiting list for the excursion and I can make someone else happy :sunny: by cancelling. The fact is, if I don't have to spend that $275 on the excursion, I will spend it elsewhere on the ship, anyway. I'm also hoping that when they see my sad, tearful face, some nice CM will take pity on me and bend the rule a little bit. (Did I just say that out loud?)

Called DH to let him know (he's working--like he needed any more stress) but he was very sweet. He said, "There's no way we're skipping the canopy to go on that, so don't worry too much about it. If we have to pay for it, we'll just have to pay for it." What a sweetheart! :love2:

How much Crown and Coke could I have gotten for $275????

Now packing is stressing me out. The clothes are no problem--everything fit in our allotted 12 suitcases. (What? We can't bring that many?!) Okay, three suitcases and an overnight bag. But all the extras have to go somewhere--extension cords, gifts, candy, DS's stuffed Stitch and mooshie snake...Who would have thought that DH would bring more shoes than me? Okay, not really, but my tiny little flat sandals don't take up any space, even if I am bringing a pair in almost every color under the rainbow.

Off to Target and the bank and need to feed two hungry kids.

The car is packed and we are ready to gooooooooooooo :moped:

As Zebramom and I and the rest of the family may be the last to be leaving...tomorrow morning 6:00AZ time...we wish all in a safe and uneventful trip. For those driving, be very careful. We will be checking the site every so often to keep it up towards the top.

BTW, we have some clothes in the suit case...We have started.

We, too, are on our way. Once the suitcases are in the car, we are outta here. See you on the Magic!! :goodvibes

We are almost all packed. My parents are coming at 8:30 am to pick up my youngest DD and our ride to San Pedro is coming at 8:45.

My SIL and her family are coming down to Ports of Call to see the ship off at 5:00 pm on Saturday. We are going to give them our Mickey "hands" that we got when we saw off the inaugural cruise and hope that we can spot them!

Anyone have the 800 # for over-packers anonymous? :rotfl2:

I do believe the stuff multiples when you close the top of the suitcases!

Moving right along........kids are SO excited...it will be hard to get them to sleep tonight!

Try 1-800-TOO-MUCH :rotfl2:

We are done packing! Just waiting now. It was 101 degrees today so sleep won't come easily. Guess I better put the kids in the bath and wash thier hair to cool them off. (That kills two birds with one stone.)

4 bags packed. One more to go. Then asking the 100 questions of everyone, with the most popular being "Got your idea nad birthcertificates and passports?" Second most popular, "Got all of the meds that are needed?"

Those are my top 2 questions too. I figure as long as I have those things, I can buy anything I forgot to pack or live without it.
I can't believe its almost here......all this preparing and planning......its like the show is about to begin - and We can't wait!!
Fog rolled in this evening so its pretty cool here and probably will be cool and overcast tomorrow morning too.
What's everyone (who's left) have in their carry on bags for tomorrow?
Jill

In my carry on (s).. we have all the essentials. :drinking1 2 gallons of margaritas and the passports, diapers, camcorder, goody bags, stroller OMG we're going to look like pack mules. :rotfl2: Plus I thought I could put one of the gallons of margaritas under each of the babies, I don't think they'll mind!! Can't be much worse than when I bought the booze. I was in Pavillions, after Target and because you can't buy cold meds in Target after the pharmacy closes :confused3 I went over and got it all at Pavillions. I was determined to have a remedy for anything that may pop up next week. I had baby Tylenol, baby Motrin, baby cold medicine, liquid Benadryl (in case of kids getting motion sick per there Dr) adult Dramamine and salt for the margaritas and 2 gallons of margaritas. I felt like explaining to everyone I passed why I had this combination of things and No, I wasn't trying to make drugs, use drugs, or knock my kids out for a week!! So in other words, before you take your kids to the ships Dr, check with me. I probably have what you need, (OTC stuff only) !! See you all later.

What time are leaving for the port Jill?? We've already had 2 almost catastrophes today. First my SIL couldn't find her DS birth certificate (she found it finally) and then because she couldn't leave early because she couldn't get her nails done today (BC search) she was leaving later. No problem except she was taking half our luggage. Got it all figured out so now I can relax and try to get some sleep. See you tomorrow. Amy :flower:

Amy...you always crack me up with the visuals I get reading your stories.....
I'm with you as far as bringing a small pharmacy with me.....unfortunately we always use most of it, or give it to others who need it.
My plan is to leave the house by 9am (which usually means no later then 9:30) I never got specific answers on getting the boarding passes for our whole group or just individual cabins. I figure we can roam around the area for a few hours if needed. The kids actually went to bed pretty easy tonight.....whew..that was a relief.
Another hour or so of packing here and there and re checking and I'm off to bed. Will check in before we leave in the AM.

I think I'm pretty much done with all the packing. Then we weighed the suitcases and one of the bags was over the 50 pound limit. So that ment a whole bunch of reshuffling. We made it though. I still have to clean out my purse and get out all the unessential stuff. You asked what was in my carryon--- real important stufff .... documents, birth certificates & passports, medicines, makeup, all the nametags, the gift exchange stuff. I hope someone has some extra green ribbon. I can't find any.

Well its back to work on all the last lose ends.

See you on the ship.

I have some green curling ribbon, I'll throw it in my purse. In fact I'll cut a foot or so of all 3 colors in case others need it.
Thanks for the carryon info......pretty much what I have in mine too, just wanted to be sure I wasn't forgetting anything.
Have a great trip.
Jill

All the odds and ends and make-up, camcorder, stuff. What's the deal with how many bags we can check in? Since we are only 2 people, can we only check in 2 bags? Or can we check in 3 and keep one?

My girls are still up and talking, talking, TALKING! I'm going to go hide in my room and try to sleep.

See you all tomorrow

Hi All,

Well the appearance went well and now all I have left to do is finish the door signs, eat somthing, wash my face and hit the hay. I will do all the last minute things in the AM (that is after all why they call them last minute, right?).

I did not realize that there was a weight limit, so now I am heading straight to full panic mode. Therefore, I have decided to play stupid and pray that my bags are not over the weight line. They do have wheels after all and should be fine but...

For anyone who is still around, I will be bringing the extra ribbons should anyone else (like me) need it. I will also be bringing the numbers and helping to orchestrate the gift exchange.

Alas, though there will be no truffles this trip as the weather would have reduced them to chocolate syrup.

I need to scan this thread to print out the info for when and where we are all meeting and the times.

Well, it is late and fortunately, I am still tired (my second wind has been mercifully delayed so I may actually sleep tonight) so I had best sign off. I will try to post once more before we set forth tomorrow.

Sleep good all and I look forward to seeing you in the AM!

Take care,

Tisza

I'm still awake because I need to get board passes for our Southwest flight. Can't do that until 12:01am. Wasn't going to bother but the news showed Sacramento Airport and it was a zoo. With 6 of us and open seating I want to have the best chance for being close by....Oh my goodness the stress of flying in the same day is resurfacing. I totally forgot in February that this is considered a "holiday" weekend. Do you think that traffic will be horrible from LAX to the Port?? Two kids asleep, two kids unable to sleep, 1 very tired DH, and me so excited I am not sure I even want to sleep!!!

Oh, I guess I can actually put the stuff in the car now!!

Darcy

Is the weight limit for airlines or for the ship?
I recall reading 2 bags per person and 1 carryon but don't remember reading about weight for the ship.
Jill

The luggage weight limit is only for those of us flying. We are flying on Southwest which has a fifty pound limit on each bag. But the large suitcases I stuffed full. And over the limit I went. We forget every time. I think I have most of my stuff done. Just have about an hour of last minute things in the morning before the shuttle arrives. Good luck on getting your six airline boarding passes together. My husband is staying up for another hour so that he can get our boarding passes as well. Thanks for throwing in some extra green ribbon.

Later.
