So much to do and so little time. So how long have we known about this cruise and we are still waiting till the last minute to get everthing done?!?! Did we just find out about it this week?

I was wondering that myself! Of course it's 2a.m. , I'm almost ready to go - but not quite there. So, what am I doing? Sitting at the computer of course! Don't think my nails will get done............ We drive out of here in a few hours. I think DH's etd is 9. All I have left really is to gather my jewelry and pack toiletries.

Dave, make sure to wave as your plane passes over us - oh, to be on that Southwest flight with ya!!!!!..........

I'll be listnin' for those clanking bottles!

See ya real soon!

It is 5:00 AM and I am wondering where everyone is? Nobody is supposed to sleep!!! My wife is not too pleased that I have spent the majority of the evening making lists and packing everything over and over. I will be here until about 11:00 AM my time. I have a luncheon downtown and then off to the airport.

Does anyone here know how early we should arrive at the airport on a holiday weekend like this, my flight is at 4:00 PM? In Phoenix they have a separate line at security for First Class but I am not relying on that to speed up the time. Any suggestions would be helpful so I am not too early or too late!

Ron, get the booze ready, it is guys week out!!!

I thought the vacation has begun! I am going to be working harder today than I have all week.

For those that are left, keep this up at the top.

This time tomorrow at the airport!

I got very little sleep last night, but we are finally packed! :cool1: Good thing too, because we are only about 15 minutes behind schedule... :cheer2: Well, we're headed out to face the wild madmen holiday drivers on I-5. :moped: Wish us well, and we'll see you all tomorrow! :jumping1:

Still here, wasn't going to unpack and repack, but changed my mind! Bags are just too full and kids won't be able to repack next week.

Would like all the toiletries to go in one duffle bag, but even with plastic baggies I am worried they would get squished!

Only today for last minute errands. Nails never got done~ on well. Guess I'll just have to slap some polish on myself. Don't look closly, it will be ugly!!

Happy Travels to those leaving today and Happy Packing to the OC families that will leave tomorrow!
Boy what a week......I really need a vacation after this week. Hubby has been in bed w/ pneumonia and oldest son fx his fibula playing coed soccer...but luckily no cast...just taping and wrapping. I'm not a big drinker, but may start tomorrow!!

Yesterday was the last day of school--it seemed like it would never get here! But in spite of all the work I still have to do to be ready to leave this evening, I couldn't keep my eyes open past 10:30 last night. I was up at 5:00 this morning, though. DS and I still need haircuts, a trip to Target, the bank (gotta put all those $1s in little envelopes), and who knows what else. It's supposed to be about 100 degrees today, so my DS and Wendy's DS (who is riding down with us) will want to swim this afternoon, which means I'll have to rinse and dry bathing suits at the last minute. Oh well, it's vacation, isn't it?

Wendy and I have manicures and pedicures scheduled for the spa, too. I know it's expensive, but I wanted to indulge and I wasn't sure about a massage. DH will get his first and then I'll decide. Mokehill, if your nails turn out that bad, join us. :flower:

Hi All,

Well, I can hardly believe that in just a few short hours I will be on my very first cruise EVER! :cool1: :Pinkbounc The packing is about 60% done but as I have been doing it in fits and spurts, I really need to unpack everything, do an inventory and then repack just to make sure that I have all that we need and have jettisoned whatever we don't. (No, I am not stupidly excited... not me...)

I'm with you, Tisza. Every surface in my living room is piled high with stuff I need to pack. Instead of packing and unpacking though, which I am tempted to do, I plan to go through every item again and again and let it sit there, hoping that it will magically pack itself. :wizard:

I am also planning to devote a couple of hours tonight to re-reading past posts in this thread and others to make sure that I have all the info regarding what to see, do, eat or miss.

My head has been swimming with too much info for the last week or so. I've finally, stubbornly decided to take the tips that I can remember, not worry about the ones I can't, and let the Magic happen. So if I act like I've never heard of something that has been a hot topic of conversation the past few weeks, just understand that I've reached capacity. :goodvibes And if I miss something important, well, I'll just have to book another cruise, won't I? :boat:

Zebramom: I don't know if you can still get Disney transfers at the airport, but I called Super Shuttle a while back and they said you can just catch one of their vans at the terminal without a reservation. You'll need a res to be picked up at the port and be brought back to the airport, though. I don't remember the cost, but it was comparable to the Disney bus.

I guess I'd better get back to work or the :wizard: packing won't get done. See you all soon (most of you on Deck 2, it sounds like).

Good Morning All,

I am pleased to say that I got 99.9% of the packing done last night (I still need to get the toiletries into their bag). What little is left to do won't be able to be done until tomorrow just before the car arrives.

I am pleased that I was able to get my nails done and to get my DH's pirate hat assembled. The nails should look pretty but the hat sure doesn't. :rotfl:

I still need to finish the door signs for my group. I am not sure that they will all want to use their signs so I don't want to invest too much time in the making of them.

I have an appearance later today as my clown character "Ellie" at the Claremont Art Walk in downtown Claremont from 6 - 9 pm. If anyone is still in the neighborhood, be sure to stop by! The good news about the appearance is that it will take a fairly sizeable bite out of the day so that there will be less time to sit excitedly by the door clutching my ticket and willing Saturday to come early.

I still need to do truffles, but depending on what the weather is going to do I may have to jettison that plan. I don't really fancy carting a box of melting chocolate around for hours tomorrow. Also, I am not entirely convinced that I can bring them aboard and I found out that one of the people traveling with us is deathly allergic to all types of nuts. I was planning to make Ammaretto and am pretty sure that killing her with the rolled almond coating would probably be a bad way to start our maiden voyage.

I am also debating on whether or not to go and get one more application of "Mystic Tan". Oddly enough, it seems to have taken best on the parts that were not supposed to tan at all. My hands and feet look beautifully golden, but my tummy still glows in the dark. :rotfl:

Well, I am starving and probably need to forage for food.

Take care all and travel safe... gee, I can hardly wait... why in just a tad over 24 hours we will be safely on our way... I wonder if there is any way to speed up the day... Now where did I put that bedknob? :wizard: Ahh, here it is... Tragoonum Merkoides Trekorum Satis Dee...

Later,

Tisza

Will seriously consider it! What time are you scheduled? I don't think that I will be able to book online since it is within two days!! Yipee!!

Just read the Southwest site and they state you can't pack Spray Starch... that seems bizarre, ithe DOT does not clasify it as tioletry or something... Also you are limited to 68 fluid oz of sampoo, lotions and etc. Never knew all that. Guess that means I will not be putting all the tioletries into one bag. I am sure we are going over the 68 oz.!! Glad I'm not driving but packing might be a little easier.

Getting closer now!
Happy Trails to you.....

We're booked for sometime Sunday afternoon--2:00 or 3:00, something like that.

Is it too late to cancel an excursion? We're booked for Marietta's Islands in PV but also booked ourselves on the canopy tour. I just remembered that I forgot to cancel the other one.

One last question? If we are all so busy and cramped for time why is it we spend some much time sitting in front of a computer screen.....I'm off to town. Need anything?

I think you would be able to cancel onboard since PV is not for a few days. Otherwise I would call, but then you would be sitting on hold and not packing or doing errands. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Shucks, I'm scheduled for birthday massage Sunday around 3! The scrifices we must make! :teeth: :goodvibes

PLEASE don't tell my kids that there is an option to leave the labs. I need me time and DH & I need us time! :love2:

Of to town now :moped: :wave2:

Just your friendly, neighborhood "Bump"

Still working on the signs. I can't seem to get the images that I want on our sign to work... Ah, well back to the drawing board...

Take care all,

Tisza

I hope you are right, because I've called reservations twice today and they insist that I have to cancel 48 hours befoer the ship sails, not 48 hours before the excursion. I'm sick to my stomach that we may have to eat the $275. any of you experienced cruisers, will they let me cancel once I get on board?

My last post..... Please have a safe trip and we will see you on the ship!

David

Safe trip to you David, see ya on the boat. This will be one of my last posts as we are leaving at 1:30 in the morning.
Most everything is done, but still have to pick up those gift bags for raffle prizes.
See ya on the Magic,
Angie

I am sitting here FREAKING OUT about that development. :sad2:

Maybe what they mean is that our reservations are "locked" and no changes can be made to them. Since this is my FIRST cruise I don't know, but Disney being Disney I would expect you you cancel on the ship.

I would do it first thing..."Hey, I'm helping you...now there is room for someone who did not plan ahead." I guess they could also say no, until they fill your spots.

I could help you post signs on the wall. Act Quick, there is room for Marietta's Islands in PV excursion. See the rowdy crowd down on Deck 2 Aft. Sign up now.

Even though that joking has me feeling better, the delay in solving this is making me FREAK OUT AGAIN. :worried: Hang in there. At the terminal find Dave for a Crown and Coke to calm your nerves. :drinking1

Back from errands one way, now errands the other way. AND it is so HOT :sunny: Onward, to the DUMP and fill her up please. Should I take my Minnie ball off the antena while parking in long term at Sac International?

I unpacked and pulled out two things....aren't you proud?!!

:hourglass Closer still
