Deb - thanks for the invite to meet the gang. I have seen it mentioned in the postings, but where are they going to meet after the drill?

I thought I was excited about the cruise before, but the more I talk to people from this group, the more excited I get (I really didn't think that was possible). I can't wait to meet all of you!

Okay since we have 2 Lisa's now, I get confused and think "hmmm are they talking to me or the other Lisa" :scratchin :rotfl2:
Sooooo I'll be Lisa from KS, you know, kind of like Deb from IA!! :thumbsup2

Patti-I sort of did the pile of clothes thing last night, well for Jim and I anyway! Alexa is on her own!Q :yay:
I think I've gotten it down pretty good! He kind of freaked when I showed him the suitcase with just "stuff" in it! You know like, the cups, air freshner, excursion bag, sunscreen, etc............
Not sure where shoes are going!??!?! :confused3

LOL! Ok, Lisa from KS. :lmao: So now we have Deb from IA, Deb from CT, Lisa from KS, and Lisa from FL? Sorry Lisa, I can't remember where you said you were. :confused3 I'm losing more active brain area as the days count down!

Shoes - they take up so much room - we always end up filling up one suitcase just with shoes - and it always gets opened when going through security.

Patti - how do you walk with that heat in the middle of the day? :sunny:
I do my exercising first thing in the morning - although Kacey and I hit the tennis ball around last night and it was VERY uncomfortable, so muggy :p

Sheila
With the 3 girls, we have tons of shoes! My mom bought the girls a different pair of shoes to wear almost every night! I have 1 pair for regular dinner, 1 pair for formal, water shoes and sandals. I will wear my tennis shoes most of the time. I will be sticking a few in each suitcase I'm sure.

I don't have much choice but to walk during the hottest part of the day. :sad2: I come in to work at 5:15-5:45, so going before work is out, and most nights we are busy, so that leaves right after work. I hate it, and will be thrilled when I get to walk early morning next week! I started walking weekends about 3 weeks ago, and can generally do that pretty early. About 4:00, my dogs expect to be taken to the park. Right at 4 they start barking and howling. It's rather funny when it's not annoying. :rotfl:

Hi Eric! There are a bunch of teens on this cruise. If you go back to page 28, it lists everyone, their kids, and ages. Welcome to you and your family. If you email Lisa from KS at LDB1030@sbcglobal.net with all of your info, and ask very nicely, she will add your info to the list.

See Lisa, I'm getting good at volunteering you!

Barnes and Noble has a 46% off coupon that you're supposed to be able to print out for the store for Janet's book. I have a code for on-line. Maybe I'll order on-line just to resist temptation. Last time I ordered at night and received my books the next afternoon--free. Sweet.

I've decided to pack one box to bring down. Goody bags for the cousins. Matching outfits, snorkel gear, etc. I'm :sad2: gonna need another box.

I didn't even pack Matthew's snorkel or swimmie. He has swim lessons today and Saturday and might need them. We have a class pool party Friday and while he can swim and dive pretty good for a five year old, if there's tons of kids he needs a back float on.

Is anybody else shipping a box? (or two?)

Yes Patti, you are doing a fine job!!! :thumbsup2

Welcome Eric! And yes, seems we have TONS of teenage girls! :sunny: I do believe someone else has a 16 or 17 year old son, I'll have to go back to page 28 and look!

mattmommy- No, I'm not shipping a box but that sure sounds good! I think my husband would flip if I did! What all are you mailing down there?? :confused3

I keep seeing previews for POTC 2!!! I serioulsy doubt I'll make it till midnight to see the movie but fun to know ALOT of people will show up for it! :teeth:

Colleen - Nope, no boxes here. If it doesn't fit in the suitcase, it stays home. :teeth:

Thanks for the tip on the book. I have a gift card to Borders that I need to use. It's not too far from Sara's school so I will run over there during band practice. :woohoo: I WILL NOT open it! It will stay in the bag. Once I open the front cover, I'm lost and will read the whole thing before we leave. Then none of my stuff would get done, and I would be in a world of hurt. :sad2: Nope, not going to open it. I told Rich I want to get to the airport like 3 hours early so I can have a chance to read before all of the family decends on us. Nope, he said I can't read until the plane leaves the ground. I have to save it for vacation, and that doesn't start until the plane leaves the ground. :furious: :lmao: Like that's gonna happen!

I could give you some online sites to check out trailers for POTC 2. They are fantastic! :Pinkbounc Thanks for the compliment! I'm good at delegating! :lmao:

One more long, painful hour here at work! Why won't the time go faster?? :furious: I have so much to do, and they are holding me back. Well, I guess they are paying me too. Hmmm. Guess I'll shut up and try to get something done. :teeth:

Patti

Patti, you are a better woman than me. I think I'll order it to keep it away from me. Sometimes I save up my Entertainment Weekly's and I can throw them away as I read them. I have "The Last Templar" I'm reading. Hopefully I'll be done before we leave because I hate hard covers to begin with.

I packed (ahem) snorkel gear, (4 of the following) pails and shovels, 4th of July goody bags, light sticks, patriotic light sticks, bubble wands, safari outfits, water balls, tubes), pirate hats, mini-DVD's, over the door shoe holder. Second smaller box will be family vodka and shoes. Nice combo. Out of the 10 adults I'm the only non-drinker. Of course my out-laws drove me to have a wine cooler last year. You'll see me with diet Coke, water or a pina colada most times.

I saw one of the doors decorated with small MM paint chips. I picked up red, black and yellow and thought I'd do coordinating curling ribbon. Having a read tough time finding colors. Hit a few stores and only got yellow.

DS has kindergarten graduation tomorrow and last day on Thursday.

I'm the head class mom and trying to get cards, gifts, gift cards all taken care of. DS is in a resource room in the am for speech and ot then onto 1/2 day kindergarten with another teacher and para. Giving gift cards to most of them, but ran out of teacher cards--ack. I'm sure it'll be ok.

Is anybody getting anxiety out there besides me?

Tried to move our flight up on Friday from 6:30 to anything earlier. All day booked. I want to be bumped (free trip to WDW), but don't want to come in at 2am.

Welcome Eric! :wave2:
Ummm, yup, there are a few teenage girls going on this cruise............ :teeth: Actually, more than a few............ ;)

Hi Eric-I have two boys that are both 13 (my son and his friend), sounds like your siblings would be a good match for them. We have lots of 15 yr old girls in our group though!! :cool1: Sorry, moms of the girls--I had to tell him :)

My husband would flip too if I were shipping something!

I'm trying to avoid the trailers for POC2, I want to be surprised!

I got the alien green mickey chips from Home Depot today, do we wear them like nametags w/ DIS on them to recognize each other? My son made a cool POC doorsign for us so I'll probably attach some of the Mickey's with our names on them too. Do you just use reversable magnetic tape for the door sign??

wow that cruise seems like its going to be alot of fun. This will be the frist summer cruise i go on. We normally go during janunary. If they have screen names have them instant message me, or pm me on the boards... its always fun to meet ppl b4 the cruise. My screen name is blownprix99

Hi, it's BCV2002. I posted on this one a looooooooooooooonnnnggg time ago, and I just wanted to say hi and I hope you're as excited as my dh, parents, and i are about going. How awesome is it that we might get to see a shuttle launch?

Anywho, I just callled DCL to put Disney Reward Dollars on our cruise and I found out the movies that'll be playing (in case you didn't know) popcorn:: :

-The Wild
-Stick It
-Anapolis
-The Shaggy Dog
-Cars :)
-Chicken Little
-Eight Below
-Herbie
-Narnia
-Glory Road
-POC: DMC :woohoo: pirate:

Also, I found out (knock on wood) that we'll be starting out with AP, which is EXACTLY what I wanted. Keep your fingers crossed. :tigger: :mickeyjum

ok I started with 2 questions I was going to ask, but they don't seem important now! How did you find out your dining rotation ahead of time??

ok-to my other questions, my husband wants to know what the distance is when you're walking around the ship on deck 4--we're guessing 1/4 mile for one lap?? :scratchin

2nd question-the boys and my husband are doing the aquarium and pirate museum at the dock in key west--my husband loves history/ships and will read every sign...while the boys will be quicker and they will want to get back on the ship sooner-will they be allowed back on the ship without an adult and only their KTW, or will they need more ID?? :confused3
thanks for any info-Michelle

Todayray:

Here's how my convo went with Faith (the DCL rep) on the phone:

Me: do you know our dining rotation yet?
Faith: no...hang on. (pause)
Faith: you have all adults in your party?
Me: yes
Faith: ok...I see. You begin at AP.

So who knows if it's true. Or maybe I wasn't suppose to know that and got lucky (again knock on wood). :rotfl:

Other question: Deck 4 goes like this: 3 laps = 1 mile My DH, dad, and I will definitely be running on that everyday. DH and I did last summer; it's awesome. You run/walk through these end areas that are a/c. It feels really nice when running in 90 degree heat at 9 in the morning. :sunny:

As for your 3rd question, I couldn't tell you. I'm pretty sure they have to be accompanied by an adult, but I'm not 100% sure.

Have a great cruise. I know we will! :tigger: :mickeyjum

Hi Eric,
My son is 17. This is his third Disney Western Magic. So I guess you have something in common. His name is P.R. We live in California. We are leaving on the Saturday to go to Florida. You can e-mail him at prdbriggs@yahoo.com
Thanks,
Kathy

Skuba2,
My husband is in the same boat. He only wears casual clothes to work and so dress up is very limited. He has one pair ok dress pants and three dress shirts. So that is what he is wearing for the formal night. Dress pants-dress shirt and a tie. So I guess that is what will happen for our family.
Kathy

That's what DH will be wearing here also for formal night. Dress shirt, tie, slacks!
I would never, ever pack a jacket for vacation! :thumbsup2 Just no need to!
That's what he's always worn for formal night and looks very nice! :goodvibes

We've always had 2 kids w/ us and got the rotation we wanted, the one people say mainly adults only get so hopefully our request will work again this time. Last time they were 3 and 3 and 13 and now they are 5 and 15! ::yes::
