Im a 16 year old guy but im glad i started to work out back in janunary. I didn't know about this cruise until yesterday but i've been working out for a few months. I first gained ~20 pounds in muscle (no cardio) and then started eatting alot better and lost 20 pounds. Im SO close to that 6-pack. I dont think i'll get it before the cruise tho :/. I DO still have a week though :D

Congrats on everyone :)

Congrats to both of you on your weight loss. I'm a lifetime member myself and Patti, I know what you mean about the walking - some days exercising is a chore, but once you do it, it just makes you feel that much better :)

I may join you on some of those walks - depends on how busy the gym gets -in the past I power walked deck 4 (?) but it had to be early - any idea what time you'll plan to go?

Sheila

Congrats on Lifetime Sheila! Deb had mentioned about 6. I am up early everyday, so that isn't a big deal to me.

You are right about feeling better once it's over. I have nights I dread going to the gym, but I do it anyway. I never miss a class! Of course, I only go twice a week. :lmao: If I have something to do in the afternoon, I will come in early to get off early so I can walk. I need for my sanity and much as my body! :teeth:

Patti

I agree with Patti-i feel a million times better emotionally when I exercise regularly. How far do you all walk at home? I just started walking 2 miles in the morning since school ended. Michelle

Hi Michelle. I do a mile each day, but since I don't get to walk until mid afternoon, it's pretty hot. My time is pretty short right now, but maybe after the cruise I can pick up more time. On the weekends, I do more. Usually close to 2. If I don't do it on the track, I don't have a great way of knowing for sure. :lmao: I have my pedometer, but it varies most days on how many steps it takes me to do the mile! :confused3

Yamahaboy-Congrats on your "almost 6-pack"! I'm sure the teen girls will notice! :teeth:

Alexa is officially braceless!! Wonder if she'll be able to stop looking in the mirror today?!? :lmao: Back next Wed.(day before wel leave!) to get the retainer that she had better NOT lose on the ship!!!! :furious:

I walk anywhere from 2-5 miles a day, just depends on how much time I have......and how hot it is out!!!!! :headache:

I just realized we have Palo's the night we are in Key West. That is going to be so nice. The reservation is at 8 so I did not have to miss anything in Key West. That is my favorite port. We are renting electric cars and driving around. They used to stay later in Key West. I do not understand why they are leaving so early. That is strange. This week they left Key West around 10:30. I watched the ship pull out. So I guess we may get lucky and they will stay longer.
When I return from this cruise I will go on a diet. I decided that I was not going to stress about it till we returned. My husband who is also over weight is also going to go on a diet. We both have used numerous programs and lose the weight and then gain it again. I know if we both would continue to exercise and eat correctly we would be much better off. So that is my plan when we return.
I just got a call from my school that I need to come into work and help out a teacher with summer school junk. I teach high school computer classes and I am also the tech person. So whenever they have a problem they call me. So, I guess I will be going into work for a few short hours. I only wish it would be a couple of hours.

I'm going to be staying at the Hampton Inn Cocoa beach. I'm getting a car service to drive us from the airport to the hotel the night before. I figured that we'd just get a taxi from the hotel to the port.

Now, I'm wondering if we should try to reserve a taxi in advance, because of the space shuttle launch traffic.

What do you think?

Congrats to Alexa! :cool1: Jess gets her impressions done this afternoon, and her braces off/retainer next Wednesday. She has been really good about it since she found out Sara got hers off first. She did cry in their office when they told her another month. She's been patient, and will take the first step towards bracelessness today! :yay:

I had to call my ex-dog sitter today. :sad2: I had to tell him that I just had to have someone that could drive, and I had hoped he would get his license by now. I felt so badly, but what can I do? :confused3 The dog has to be driven to the state park to wee when there are fireworks going off! :rotfl:

Patti

Hey Colleen - where are you today? I think most everyone else has checked in today.

I bought 12 last night, and never took it out of the bag. I was so proud of myself! :woohoo: By the time I got home I was too tired to even think about it. :) That is one more thing off my list!

I also found a new dog food dealer! Whew! Of course, Rich just went out there, and they weren't there! It's a couple that works out of their house, and she said he would be there, and he said she would. :lmao: They communicate like we do!

Lisa - Congrats to Alexa - that's great. :cool1: My girls were thrilled when they got their braces off. My girls only wear their retainer at night - is that the same for Alexa? If you ortho is anything like ours, it was something like $150 to replace to retainer if lost.....thankfully that never happened :bounce:

Funfoody - you could check Mousavers for taxi/car services - they list several w/discount codes - you could probably call and just ask what they think their availability will be that Saturday. It might not be a bad idea to have one reserved.

Off to the dry cleaners!

Sheila

I will definately be walking with you Patti! Although I am not a big exerciser at home (I just think about it a lot! ), I am worried that hanging out for a week might be bad for my butt. I run around all day at the hospital, as Sheila guessed I am a nurse, so although I don't really exercise, I don't sit around too much either.
Sheila, I guess your sister's kids wouldn't be dancing with my 11 year old then! 15 years is a long time inbetween...amazing! I can't imagine going back to the diapers and bottles now, although I do LOVE babies :lovestruc !
Karen

Funfoody, I rented a car from Budget and used a code from MouseSavers (love them!). Budget has a free shuttle to the terminal in Port Canaveral. I rented a compact for less than $30 each way (including taxes) from Orlando Airport but I checked the prices like once a month for a while and rebooked when it was cheaper. I don't know how cheap you can get now, but it is worth a try.
Good luck!

I THINK in the beginning she'll wear it day and night and eventually just at night! I'm sure they'll tell us everything next week when we go in but since it'll be the day before we leave, I doubt I'll be hearing anything they tell me!!

Mickeyteachers-we're at Palo too on Key West night-looking forward to the choc. souffle already!! We're there at 6pm though, so we'll probably have to check out the sunset afterwards :sunny: Unless we have lots of after dinner drinks :)
But that just makes me soooo sleepy that I end up missing all the fun later!

For those that are heading to FL early, will you still be checking in on this thread to keep us all updated? We're not heading down until Thursday before. Michelle

Michelle-
We're going down the same day as you! I don't even plan on looking at a computer between June 29th and July 9th!! :badpc:

We have dinner at Palos at 8 p.m. Hopefully I will not fall asleep at dinner. I will not be checking in after Saturday morning. I do not have access to the Internet.

Patti, I'm here. Haven't gotten 12 yet. I think I'm better off not having it in the house. My new year's resolution was that I would read best sellers. I think that went the way of the diet. Some of these "best sellers" are really boring.

Had to go to ds's kindergarten graduation. CRIED like a baby. Mom and I sniveled away and then I had to take my turn with the miniDVD while dh did pictures. He always wiggles his way next to the girls. It's starting early.

DH has school tonight--going for his Masters. Joining Mom and Dad and going to the Staten Island Yankees (minor league team) for their opening night. Hot here. I'll take it over snow and ice anytime. Have to buy more sunscreen before we go.

My son graduated last year from Kindergarten. It was so sad. He just finished 1st grade three weeks ago. My other son will be a senior in high school.
I just cleaned my garage. It is way too hot outside. I had to make sure it was nice and clean for my car while I am away. Would hate to have it outside the entire time I am gone.

I am teaching summer school right now too (HS World History) :teacher:

It's killing me now, but it'll just make the cruise ever-so-sweeter. :tigger: :mickeyjum
