I do not live that far from Pleasanton. They have a wonderful mall and in Dublin which is very close they have a great movie theater. i-max and also regular movies.
We are using Disney transp. to get to the ship. I was worried if we were late using the car because of the shuttle launching that the ship would leave without us. So if we are on the Disney transp. they would notifiy the ship. I cannot miss the ship.

That's cool! I know Julie goes to the movie in Dublin alot!
Can you pick up radio station KOIT (SF) where you live?

Hi Everyone,

Lisa (Idb1030) told me about this thread. My family and I will be sailing on the Disney Magic WC on July 1st. I am very new to this whole disboard thing, but I think it is really awesome that we can meet fellow cruisers before we even get on the boat!

Lisa :tigger:

Hi Lisa! Glad you found the thread! You can email me the names of everyone in your party if you want and I'll add you to our list way back on page 28!

We can only pick up KOIT when we are driving in that area. Can not get it in Escalon. We enjoy KOIT when we are in that area.

So happy you enjoy KOIT! I'll pass it on to my sis!
If you ever hear it on Saturday morning from 6am-12noon, you'll hear her!
Her radio name is Julie Shannon!
Mon-Friday she is the assist. program and music director @ KOIT but still has her show on Saturday mornings!

We are taking Disney transport also! Are you coming for one of the resorts or the airport?

Welcome to the board Lisa! We have a great group. Tell us who all is in your group. We have a growing group of teenagers, heavy on girls. :lmao: This should be called The Sailing of the Hormonal Magic. :rotfl2: We also have a group of college football fanatics!

I'm itching to pack too, but I don't want to iron, so I'm resisting. Still haven't done a single door sign and I want to make one for all 5 rooms. I was going to have a different one for each day, but alas, that's gone out the window.

Can't wait for #12.

I hope they launch the shuttle--that would be sooo cool for the kids.

Kodak has a special deal for the POC fans. Buy $20 of stuff from the Kodak site and get a ticket for POC. Cool

I'm sorry, but this NE girl knows nothing about football except that it interferes with her reality shows. When I was in HS I watched football, but it wasn't for the sport.

What I decided on door magnets last night is that I will use my Husker ones off my car. :teeth: I don't have the time, or inclination to make signs. I know, I really should, but my printer is hit or miss on the best of days. I keep buying new ones, and they perform well for about a month. Good thing I use my trusty laser for almost everything! Actually, I could let Sara loose on something like this. Maybe I will do that. I'll still use my Husker ones so I am easy to find! :rotfl2:

One more day to #12!

LOL on the no football. I don't watch reality tv. I have enough reality in my life with 2 teenagers, I don't need to watch someone elses! About all I watch, besides football, is NASCAR :car: (I got hooked in Georgia), and the Sunday night shows on HBO.

My kids can't wait to see a shuttle launch! Especially Sara. I told her if they do launch we will tape it for her. Hey, you never know when she might need to do a video presentation, and what great footage! :woohoo:

My last week of work, except for my 3 hours on Monday!! We are going to be pretty busy this week, and my calander is full next week!

My sister and her family just moved to NC. They LOVE it there! My dh was just there on business a couple of weeks ago and really liked it. We have lived a lot of places, but that isn't one of them. :sad2

I have a teenager to spare if you like. :lmao:

Patti-
Okay along with you and Julie discussing college football, you also can discuss Sundy night on HBO!!! I don't have HBO so I never know what she's talking about but that's her fave night of tv!!
I on the other hand LOVE reality tv!!!! :happytv:

I hope they move the safety drill back or forward. I am not sure if you will be able to "see" the launch from both sides let alone if you are at a station that is covered by the deck above. Not really telling my kids about it yet. Knowing how they make you stand in the drill, it will be very interesting if they don't make any accomodation for the launch and the ability of the cm's to keep order

Anyone with small children---I would bring a small water or something for them. It can get very hot standing there waiting for everyone to show up. You stand very close to one another in a straight line shortest up front for each cabin. Sardines---yeah that is about it.

We will be there early----with or without my dh. He always says "It will be fine" "Stop worrying" and then I get to say "I told you so". Well, he's not getting the chance this time.

LOL! See, she has to like me! We have so much in common. :lmao: My parents are big reality tv people. Not me. I guess I just don't get it. :confused3

Oh heck! I never thought about the safety drill. Hopefully they will take that into consideration if there is a launch. As for the shortest in the cabin, that would be me! :lmao: My smallest child is almost 7" taller than I am! :confused3

LOL! Your dh sounds like mine! We went out to dinner with my folks last night, and Rich and Jim were talking about what time we are going to the airport. Geez, if I had it my way, I'd be there on Thursday! :lmao:

We live in a small town in Northern California. It is close to Modesto. (You know, where Scott Peterson was from.)
I just finished weighing all of my suitcases. I had to move junk around so they did not weigh over 50 pounds. The last two times we traveled I was at the curb moving junk from one suitcase to another. People were looking at me as I had different suitcases open and throwing my clothing from one to the other. I was so mad. My husband was taking the rental car back and here I was with two kids and the luggage man. Once I moved everything around the luggage man would not weigh the suitcases. He just said, they are fine. I was really mad then. How did he known they now only weighed less than 50 pounds. So not to have that happen again I made sure my son weighed every suitcase and I moved things around at home.
I still need to hem my husbands pants and then everything is finished. I am so excited.

That is too funny and reminiscent of our trip to Hawaii in April when I was doing exactly the same thing in the AA terminal when one of our bags was almost 70lbs. because dh had stuffed his books and shoes in there, I was bending over trying to move stuff from one bag to another (while keeping two little ones in a stroller from wiggling away) and split the zipper on my dress :crazy2: while my dh was (taking his time) getting our boarding passes with the agent (why was I doing the hard stuff??) Luckily as I was moving stuff around I grabbed a new outfit to put on for our 12 hour flight. But did the agent even re-weigh the luggage...nope...just told us to drag it all to security for x-ray

We're huge Survivor fans in my family. They had an open audition at Great Adventure (6 flags) and my db and I went 10pm the night before and slept in the parking lot. Boy, there were more nuts there than my family. We didn't get called though. I did get bit by a spider and had an allergic reaction. Lucky me.

I can't wait for the lifeboat drill. Always bring your camera (and now video in case the shuttle goes up). I wish our room was near my cousin who is a 30+ year old princess who can't mess up her hair and makeup. :lmao:

Janet's book comes out tomorrow--yippee. I'm reading "The Last Templar". It's ok. I wish Dan Brown would come out with more books. I loved Digital Fortress and Deception Point way more than DaVinci Code and Angels and Demons. Maybe I'll be good and miser it for the trip. :guilty: I still picture Lulu with her thong showing running down the street with the dogs after her.

POC Movie Ship to arrives at Castaway Cay!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Flying Dutchman Ship Anchors at Castaway Cay

On Thursday, June 15, The Flying Dutchman will appear at Castaway Cay. The 175-foot long pirate ghost ship was created for Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, opening July 7, 2006.

The incredibly intricate ship is unlike any other pirate ship - it looks as though it was raised from the ocean floor, with ragged sails and a barnacle encrusted bow, destined to haunt the open seas for eternity.

The Flying Dutchman will provide a scenic photo backdrop for Disney Cruise Line guests using the walking path leading to the Family beach. Those taking water excursions at the island will be able to take an up-close look at the ghost ship.

Guests should stay alert, for they may catch a glimpse of the infamous Captain Jack Sparrow looking out for the commander of the Flying Dutchman, his new nemesis, Davey Jones.

The Flying Dutchman will make Castaway Cay its new Caribbean home before it "reappears" in the third Pirates of the Caribbean movie in 2007.

Disney Cruise Line will also hold a PremEAR at Sea of "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" in the Walt Disney Theatre of both Disney Magic and Disney Wonder. On Friday, July 7, guests aboard Disney Cruise Line will receive commemorative buttons and pirate-themed temporary tattoos, and will be invited to view the premiere of the film at 12:01 a.m.
