July 15-22 2006 Western Anyone?

It is sooooo good to be home again. :cool1:

Yesterday afternoon when we arrived at the Milw airport, the flight from Orlando landed at the same time. There were a bunch of kids with Mickey Ear hats and moms with "Happiest Celebration on Earth" bags - I had tears in my eyes! I went in the bathroom and there was a lady in line with a WDW t-shirt, I looked at her and said "we will be there in 10 days!" I'm such a flake :lmao:

When I got home DH was not there, so I searched everywhere looking for the cruise docs. Finally found them but, wow, the online registration really cut down on the info they send. We didn't even get the stateroom gift booklet. Oh well.

Now I have to start making lists for packing.....

:welcome: back home.

I always love going away, but there's nothing like being home.

Good morning everyone.

We all must have had a busy night last night. We are now on the second cruise meets page. I will be the first to bring us out of it and back to the first.

I am very excited to pick up the cruise documents this morning. My husband does not feel it is as urgent as I do. I asked him to pick them up last night after work, but he did not. I can't blame him, traffic is awful that time of day.

My son had made a chain about three weeks ago, so we could take a link off each day to count down to the cruise. Well, it is looking very short now. :dance3:

When I went to Walmart yesterday, I bought some ginger root tablets for possible motion sickness. Have any of you guys or gals used this? Does it work? I have read about it,and since we do not usually have motion sickness issues, I did not want to spend a lot of money. The bottle says that it eases occassional motion sickness. I have gotten queazy before, so I do not want to take any chances.

I hope everyone has a great day. It is finally sunny....blue skies here.

Ginger root tablets. That sounds like a good thing to get. I usually get dramamine just in case. Last year DS got a little queazy and I gave him some dramamine that was suppose to be non-drowsy, well he was out like a light. Is it ok for kids to take ginger root?

Well need to run. My brother who is here visiting thinks I'm addicted to these boards. He just doesn't understand.

I think I'm the last one, but we finally got our cruise documents! Yeah! Now we can all do the happy dance! :cool1:  :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :bounce: :cool1:  :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :yay: :dance3: :bounce:

That's great!!!! :thumbsup2 Now that we are all set can we go now????

I have another question...I won't say a stupid one but it probably is...
In the cruise packet, there are Bahama immigration arrival cards (?). Confusing in itself to me but where it says arriving by and arrival date... what part of the trip am I exactly filling this out for? Is it for Castaway Cay?
Really :confused3.

Welcome back!!!

I think it is so funny. The closer I get to the cruise, the more I run into people that have just been, are going, or are interested in going on a DC. Maybe it is because it is always on our minds now, and we readily talk about it.

I went today to a store. It has a lot of military (navy) decor, shirts, model ships etc. We are a Navy town ya know. Well, I went in and lo and behold there was an entire wall filled with so many different pirate shirts. I could not find a POTC one I liked and these were really neat. Some were not appropriate for my teens, such as " Argh, nice booty," or " Pirates get plenty of booty, " or the best one yet, "Booty Call." pirate:

I did find two that worked. One says, " take no prisoners" and there are skulls on the back and the other says, " No quarter, no mercy" or something like that. They both have a small pic on the front too. That is what they will wear on pirate night. They have so many to choose from. I was tickled to have found the store.

Well, I hope now that you can have some fun getting prepared for your trip. G

The bottle says not to take if under 18 years of age. I will not give it to the boys. Now, I read somewhere that they have dramamine on the ship, and that it is readily available....free, from what I understood. One person said they had a pouch right outside the clinic, and on particularly rough days they will have them at guest services. Have you heard that?

I went to Walmart and looked for dramamine and could not find it. Is is a prescription med, or can I find it somewhere over the counter? I thought I would take the ginger root before the cruise as a precaution. It can't hurt.

My husband "thinks" that I am addicted to these boards also. I have not clued him in on the truth.

Yea!!!!!! :dance3: I am doin' it!!!

I started filling out the Bahamas paper and messed it up already. I need to stop trying to multitask . I feel harried these days.

sillykidsmom said:

This is the part I messed up, so it is not a silly question if more than one of us has it. :thumbsup2 Well, regardless of how many have the question. No question is silly. Just clarifying that.

I think it is more silly not to ask the question, just because we think it is silly. I am guilty of that more often than not, unfortunately.

Hi everybody

Soo happy to hear we are officially doing the happy dance
 :cool1: :dancer:

Son is finally out of school. Today was first full day at home (when does school start again :rotfl: ) anyway will be having another busy weekend so my early morning reports will be few and far between. I might actually sleep.

Anyway hope everyone has a great weekend :wave2:

13 more days I can't believe it :cool1:

You can get the dramamine pretty much anywhere. CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Target.....well you get the idea. And yes it's over the counter. I think if you go to the clinic, you have to pay a $50.00 co-pay so I don't think that dramamine is free. Never heard that you can get anything like that at guest services. No worries, if you need some I will have plenty on hand.

My family leaves Saturday morning :sad2:, and then my DH's family comes in Saturday evening. Next thing we know we will all be on our cruise!

Oh, I started my magnetic door signs today. Nothing special, but they will do.

Is having all the family making time go by that much faster? It will be here so quickly. I am really feeling rushed now. WIth the boys home, I feel as though the house is never clean. They love to cook for themselves, but that means extra finger prints on the cupboards. I am sure you all know what I mean.

Thank you for the info on dramamine. I thought all that sounded too good to be true. I think that it will be wise to be prepared. You never know how 7 days at sea will affect everyone.

Isn't it fun to do the signs? I did not do anything extra special, but they were so much fun to make. It is just a neat magical touch. Have fun with 'em.

Have we set up an official meet on the ship? I am looking forward to meeting everyone, and putting faces and names together. This is the nicest place to come, it is a blessing just to know others going on the same cruise.

Have fun with the rest of your time with your family.

Do your children go to all year round school? I wish they would implement that here. Many parents are against it, but I feel that it would be a good thing to keep them in the groove all year long. Oh well, there are pluses and minuses to all things.

There's another product called Bonine - it's similar to Dramamine but doesn't cause drowziness and you can have alcohol with it. We have taken on both our previous cruises and never used it! Seriously - both of our other cruises have been about the same time frame in July (give or take a few days - we are usually on the ship for DH's birthday) and the seas have been as smooth as glass. Now our previous trips have been 4 nighters in the Bahamas, but I'm clinging to the belief that calm seas rule in July. :thumbsup2

We have so much going on this weekend and I don't want to do any of it! I want to concentrate on the trip. I feel like I'm running out of time. :sad2:

No, DS goes to school from the beginning of August to middle of May. I guess it's the same time amount as ya'll, (Sept - June) but we don't have to add on all those snowdays at the end. (we do have hurricane days though) DD is just starting a pre-k program that is offered here for FREE. (love that word) She will go 5 days a week 3 hours a day.

DS has been in summer camp all summer so I haven't seen much of him. I'm really looking forward to this vacation for the 4 of us to be together again. After the trip it's back to the same old routine. School, homework, sports ect....URG!!!!

We always seem to sail during hurricane season. We've had a few bumpy rides, but nothing too extreme. We always seem to encounter rough waters through the Florida straits for some reason. I knew there was another product out there for queaziness. I will pick that up too.

The time is flying buy with the family here. It's going to be sad seeing them go, but at least I have this trip to look forward too. All I have to do is pack everthing but the kitchen sink. Two bags per person is just not enough. My cruise in May with my DH we had 6 checked bags and 2 carry-ons and that was just for the 2 of us. HELLO, can you say OVERPACKED!!!!! Hopefully I learned my lesson.

I believe we are meeting at 3:00pm before the life boat drill somewhere on the ship. I can see I'm a big help huh? Sorry. Like you, I can't wait to meet everyone.

Dreaming everynight about a Foo Foo drink with a pink umbrella.....
