Oh, earplugs. I forgot about those. WE are on deck 2 right over all the noisy equipment...at least that is what others say. I think earplugs would be a good idea. I am not worried about the noise though, because I am just happy to be going. :cool1:

I also got Bonine, just as insurance. I would rather have it. We will probably not need it, but it is a small price to pay. If we don't buy it, you can bet we will get seasick. :sad2:

How old are your son's Terri?

Earplugs, I can't forget those. DH & DS both snore!!!!!!!

Hi all,

Wow, great to see so many EXCITED people!! Terri, I have an 11 yo DS who is REALLY looking forward to the Oceaneers Lab. We last did a Disney cruise when he was 6, and he said at that time that "The days on the cruise were the best days of my life". SO cute. I wonder how his perspective will have changed five years later?

I was a shopping fool today...finally feel like I've at least got FORMAL NIGHT under control, with new shirts & ties for the boys, as well as the all important dress shoes!

We will be spending 6 nights at the Poly before the cruise, so we're actually leaving home in just over a week. I'm not even close to being ready, but I will be!

LOVE The web site...thanks! We are on Deck 8, and we have late seating for dinner. And we hail from Great Falls, Montana!

Have a great weekend and I'll check back in on Monday!

Hi!!!
Welcome!!!!
I'm sure your son will still love the Disney cruise even though he is older. My 8 year old (almost 9) DS says he does not like Disney, but everytime we go you can still see the magic in his eyes. He always tells me that he had the best time and when can we do it again. I guess it's all about growing up. My whole family is looking so forward to this trip!

Well my hubby is on his way to the airport to drop off my family and pick up his. It was so sad to see them go. I just need some prayers out there to get me through this week with the in-laws!!!

I just wanted to check in with everyone and I see we have some new people joining us. WELCOME!!!!

My packing is going to have to wait another week, but I am putting things aside as I remember them. I really need to sit down and write out a list. Yeah, like I have time for that. Is there any must have's that I don't want to forget? I see some are bringing beer onboard. Can we bring a cooler?

I can't wait to pampered hand and foot on the cruise. I'm totally exhausted from all of this entertaining. Pretty soon it will be my turn. Well all of us!!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend and I will check back during the week. I sure do miss talking with everyone on a daily basis.

Isn't it bittersweet when family leaves? No matter the busyness, exhaustion, etc, it is never easy to see them go. I will keep you in my prayers for your next visitors. When do they come in? Are they in? I hope you have a day or so to just breathe and regroup.

I have printed out some of the guidelines for luggage on the plane. I do not fly often, so I decided I better be sure what I am to do, how to pack, and what is allowed. I am glad I did.

I called Southwest to see what the damage would be to change our flight from Saturday morning to Friday night. It would cost us an extra 300.00 including an overnight stay in Orlando. I just can't see doing that when everything will be fine I am sure.....I hope. We have plenty of leeway if there is a slight delay. We shall see.

Well, have a great weekend Sillykidsmom!!

Thank you for your prayers. DH mom is in. His sister and her family will be here Monday.

Don't worry. You have DCL transfers. The ship will wait for you and your family. I promise, I won't let the ship leave without you. :boat:

Thank you. If you have to lock the capitan up in a room somewhere, please do. JUST KIDDING!! We wouldn't do that. :rolleyes1

I am sure we will be fine. I am just the classic worrier. If all goes well, we will be in Orlando at 10 am. I am not worried about being the first on the ship or anything. I only want to get there. :thumbsup2

My husband is at a friendly poker game tonight, so I am using the time to put all of my toiletries in ziploc bags, list all I need, and I packed our day bag and carry on luggage. I really don't want to do too much more, because I think it is just a waste of time. I need to put everything out on the bed, match shoes to outfit, and figure out how to pack less. I might as well do that the week of the trip.

Two weeks from now we will have had that foo foo drink, and will be on our way to Key West and margaritaville. :drinking1

I have added the new information to the website. I also added a picture I took of the Magic while on our Thanksgiving cruise. It is one of my favorite pictures because it is a view that is rarely seen.

Good news / Bad news. Good news - DD's and I went to buy t-shirts for us to wear on embarkation day. Bad news - they are pink. At least you all will be able to find us.

Hmmm, I am not sure what we will be wearing. I will have to see closer to the time. It would be nice to have something that is easy to pick out of a crowd, so when I am looking around aimlessly for all the Dis ers, you can all give me a hollar. :listen:

You being on deck 2, cat 9 reminded me that I did not specify that we are also on deck 2 cat 9. I think our stateroom numbers are 2646 and 2648. They are the 2 connecting rooms at the very back end of the ship.... Don't ask if it is port or starboard...I have no clue. I just know that I follow the anchors (or is it something else?). I better study up on that again.

Woke up very early this morning and just came back from church. The boys are cooking breakfast, so I am checking everything out here.I love Sunday mornings. The 2 youngest boys love to cook breakfast, so they have been doing that a lot lately. Very good chefs, I might add.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day. It is beautiful here. I might hit the beach again. :beach:

Oh, one way to distinquish the family is that I am going to try to tie some of those Mickey paint chips from Home Depot onto our carry on luggage. They are a really bright flourescent type green with my screen name on them. If you see that, say hey. :thumbsup2

Not sure what we will be wearing either. There is no way I can get my DH to wear matching shirts. I may be able to convince him that we all wear a different disney shirt. I bought a bunch of them the other day for kids at the Disney store. They were only $4.99!!!! Can't go wrong there.

It's a nice day here too. We were thinking about driving over to Cape Canaveral today to see the shuttle launch. We finally decided against it because I don't want to drive 2 1/2 hours there and back and not see it launch. The news is saying it may not go up again today b/c of afternoon storms. I guess I have to drag my mother-in-law out and go shopping!!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Wow, you were up bright and early! We will probably do the same as you, wear different Disney shirts. Once I know which ones we will wear I will let everyone know.

We started with the matching t-shirts on our second cruise. I updated our picture on the web page to show us prior to boarding the Thanksgiving Wonder. It makes it easier for us to find each other (I need all the help I can get, lol).

I usually hang out on deck 10 for the sail away party, with all girls of the family down on the dance floor. They dance, and I tape. I also have Mickey Hands so I can wave to the CM's when we leave Cape Canaveral.

Pink! I love it! My DH is a pretty good sport too. I may have to go find some matching shirts as well.

FYI - for those that missed the Magic at Key West 2 weeks ago, it's back :Pinkbounc

and we'll be on the ship the next time it docks.

I think I'm finally done with all the shopping I need to do prior to the cruise. I went to a party store today and found eye patches and clip on earrings for the kids for pirate night. I believe that is all I needed to finish up for pirate night! YEAH!!!! I also got white pillowcases and fabric markers for the characters to sign. I have a laundry basket full of must have's put aside and ready to be packed.

WOW, 2 weeks away and we will be in Key West. I can't wait. I know the kids are excited!!! DH is starting to get excited too.

Does anyone know if you can use the Motorala Talkabouts (walkie talkies) on board the ship? I believe I saw people with them last year but I think they rented them on the ship. We have our own and was just wondering if we should even bother bringing them.

Thanks!

That is such a nice picture of your family. I like the matching t-shirt idea, but I may have to wait for next time. (yes, I am already thinking like a true dis'er). I have went way too far overboard this time. I may wear a hat of some sort. We shall see.

When is everyone leaving? I know some are leaving several days prior.

I cannot wait for the sail away party. I cannot imagine what it will be like. I look forward to all the dancing myself. Well, I will have to make sure that my son's are far away. They get embarrassed when mom has fun. Go figure. :rotfl:
