July 15-22 2006 Western Anyone?

I brought the laundry tablets the last 2 times, I think I still have some left. If I don't I'll probably portion out powder into baggies. The tablets are no longer sold in stores but I believe there are some websites that have them. I also put a few bounce sheets in a baggie.

DS isn't as messy as he was 2 and 4 years ago but spills happen. I'm also bringing a tide pen for spotting.

I can't wait to be at WDW where everything is wonderful. I switched hotels this morning after killing 2 cockroaches in my room :scared1: The reaction I got from the girl working the hotels desk was pathetic. No apology, no offer to switch rooms, nothing. She told me that the "bug guy" had been there the day before - like I cared!

Anyway, in 12 days it will be a distant memory. :cheer2:[/QUOTE

Someone told me that when she packs she brings her oldest things socks etc and wears it and disguards it saves time on :laundy: and more room in your suitcase :rolleyes1

I am not sure if this ever got answered.

I 'borrowed' this pictures from the wdwinfo website.
crnew-56-1.jpg

If you look to the lower left hand side of the picture, you can barely see the top of a desk. On both sides of the desk are drawers. Under the TV is the cooler, so no storage there. However, over the TV are three more shelves. I think there is a blanket or pillow on one of the shelves.

Further into the room, behind the small white trash can, there are another three small drawers.

This floor plan is from the disneycruise website.
DlxFamilyVerandaLowband.jpg

In this diagram, next to the verandah, opposite the Murphy Bed outline, there is a Steamer Trunk with three big shelves inside. Different categories / rooms have different widths.

I think there are some more small shelves in the closet.

We overpack way too much, and we have found plenty of room to put all of our stuff away.

Thanks so much for the answer.....complete with pics!!!!!! I really appreciate it, so thank you!!!!

The first thing to know about customs is that it is not a big deal. You just want to be honest on the form, and you will be all set.

You will leave your packed bags outside your room the night before, and just have your carry ons with you. In the morning, you will disembark the ship and go into the luggage room. Bags are sorted by deck, and you find your bags and a porter. The porter will take all your bags, your identification to get back into the country (passport or birth certificate) and the form. You just follow him or her as you pass through immigration and customs. We have never had any delay going through, and I do not think I have ever been questioned.

Now for some details regarding customs. There are limits to how much you can bring back into the United States. I believe it is $800 per person. They allow you to combine, so in fact, your family of 5 (or is it 4?) could bring back $4,000 worth of goods without going over the limit. There are also limits on vice items, such as cigarettes and alcohol. On the US Customs form, you will be asked how much you are bring back into the US. If it is over an amount, you need to list the high ticket items on the back of the form. In all my travel, I do not think I have ever had to list an item on the back.

If you do list items on the back, you would want to have those items and their receipts easily available as you pass through customs, just in case you are asked to present them.

Thanks so much for taking the time to explain this to me. I had all sorts of visions in my mind as to what this would be like. I do not intend to spend that much anyway, so I should have nothing to worry about as far as going over. After all, I have 5 (or is it 4 ;) ) in my family. That is an awful lot of spending; might I mention, of money I do not have. The process does sound pretty painless.

My husband is very impressed of my knowledge regarding this cruise. He came back last night and I unloaded all that I learned over the weekend, and he told me I was doing "such a wonderful job." Thank you guys for helping me to appear extremely intelligent and "in the know." :rotfl: Just wait until the cruise when he is worried about how we do this and that, and I will just have to say, "do not worry, just follow me."

My friend had that Tide pen on Friday night when we went out, and she had to use it. I was so impressed by it. I had never seen it before, but it got everything right out. I think I will carry that too.

Sorry about your room problems. I get very upset when I get responses from any employee of an establishment that is not up to par with " customer comes first." I am a homemaker for now, but whenever I had a job, I did my best to make the customer feel important. Today it is hard to find that. I really make sure to show my appreciation for those who go above and beyond because there are few of those people out there. I guess these people felt you didn't mind sharing your room. Ugh!!

I tried on some clothes last night, to see how much damage I have done over the last year. I have 5 dresses for dinner ( I am trying to pack light :rotfl2: ), found 2 swimsuits ( well, one is new), and I have all kinds of odds and ends that I have all in the corner of my bedroom.

I told my husband to ask a friend if we can borrow a couple large suitcases. WE have one large, but the rest are very small. They will not cut it. The one large may handle my stuff, but I may need one for shoes. ;)

This is going to be so difficult to pack for.

I so totally agree with you about this. I'm actually surprised when I encounter that "customer comes first" attitude or when someone is actually pleasant to me. It's so rare and that's pretty sad. (And yes, I'm from Jersey and I believe people should be nice to each other!) :rotfl:
Sounds like the cockroach hotel needs some customer service training! Yikes!

:scared:

Hey guess what everyone? It's raining here! :rolleyes1

You are not alone....we don't have ours either. :sad2:

Well, look what you did sillykidsmom....just kidding. ;)

I posted my last post, and sat here thinking and thinking, "Yes, I can wait until Friday to contact my TA." Well, I thought too much about it, and I emailed her. Maybe she will at least be able to let me know about whether she will receive them first and then get them to me or whether they will come straight to me. Maybe they are on her desk and this will get her to put a rush on them. I am pitiful. :sad2:

Now I can be calm, :smokin: (hack hack) , cool, :smooth: and maybe a bit patient :bitelip: with all this.

I went to the Disney Store today. I did not really like the shirts they had available. I guess I would really like to have Capn Jack on it if I am going to get it. I saw a really nice tropical shirt with a neat little picture of mickey and minnie at the beach on the back. I almost got it, but can't see anyone wearing it other than on the cruise. I talked myself out of it after picking it up and putting it back 3 times. Actually, my son told me that I better make up my mind.

I was going to try Sears but I came out of Walmart and found a huge nail in my tire. I have never changed a tire in my life, and I did not want to start today. I brought it home for my hubby. I think I will have him show me what to do. I really should know how to do it myself.

Have a great evening. I am going on a date tonite with DH. Love that guy!

Hey all,

My TA just emailed me back and she has the documents and we can pick them up at anytime. I am so excited. :dance3: doin the happy dance.

That's great news!!! Hope you had a great date with your hubby.

Good morning everyone.

We all must have had a busy night last night. We are now on the second cruise meets page. I will be the first to bring us out of it and back to the first.

I am very excited to pick up the cruise documents this morning. My husband does not feel it is as urgent as I do. I asked him to pick them up last night after work, but he did not. I can't blame him, traffic is awful that time of day.

My son had made a chain about three weeks ago, so we could take a link off each day to count down to the cruise. Well, it is looking very short now. :dance3:

When I went to Walmart yesterday, I bought some ginger root tablets for possible motion sickness. Have any of you guys or gals used this? Does it work? I have read about it,and since we do not usually have motion sickness issues, I did not want to spend a lot of money. The bottle says that it eases occassional motion sickness. I have gotten queazy before, so I do not want to take any chances.

I hope everyone has a great day. It is finally sunny....blue skies here.
