My son's favorite lunch is Jr. Lunchables (small amounts of mozz cheese, turkey pieces and little ritz bits) I can not get it a GardenGrocer.com and wanted to bring 4 of them with an ice pack on the plane. Can I?

You can bring the Jr. Lunchables in your carry-on because there are no liquids or gels in there. The problem with your plan is that you can't take ice packs in your carry-on, since they are filled with gel, and maybe sometimes liquid.

What you *can* do though is freeze some grapes and pack them with the lunchables. This will work just like an ice pack.

Completed sandwiches, even with mayonnaise in them, may be carried on.

The only thing you will have a problem with is if the package contains condiment packets (mustard, mayonnaise, etc.) You may want to remove those and put them in a baggie to go through security.

You won't be permitted to take an ice pack aboard but you do have the suggestion about the grapes.

Yes - the one you mentioned is fine but the others with yogurt or peanut butter are not. I always pack a lunch/dinner for my kids and like pp's mentioned frozen grapes are ideal as an ice pack - and then later a healthy treat.

Thanks! Never thought of grapes. I will try it. My flight is only 2.5 hours direct, I will use my jell thing and take it out before leaving the car at the airport.

What about one of those instant cold packs used for medical issues, it does not have jell in it I believe.

This snack does not have condiments in it, thankfully.
