Journey of Water - Mona Soft Opening

Of course, our one Epcot rope drop day will be the day Moana opens. Should I assume it will be a VQ? Also, are you able to have 2 VQs? I suspect I’ll need to grab a guardians and then try for Moana.

Yes, you can do 2 VQ's. For our days, Moana VQ opened at 11 am. Guardians VQ opened at 7 and was gone in 2 seconds.

Yep I’ve had GoTG VQ & RunDisney VQ in the past

Yes! Can definitely have two VQs simultaneously. I went over the weekend and had Guardians & Moana VQs.

Just be aware there’s an entry code to scan for Moana. It’ll be available on your phone when your BG gets called.

We were a little late scanning in (due to the time in the line) but they let us in no problem. Fun little walk through, and got some great pictures.

Today VQ for Moana opened at 8:45 and you need to be in the park (friend is there now and got GOTG but not Moana)

Monday and Wednesday, the VQ opened at 11, so we were in the park already. On Friday, the VQ opened early as you noted. This was the first time, we were not in the park when the VQ opened and you couldn't join until you were in the park. Suspect this is the final version of the VQ.

Were you staying offsite? They are offsite guests. The wording doesn’t specify onsite/offsite so I suspect it’s the same rule.

No stayed onsite. As of Friday, they added the disclaimer that you must be in the park to get a VQ for Moana.

For those that have done Moana with the VQ, how long did you wait in the line before getting to the attraction?

I'm here now waiting for my VQ to be called, but noticing the line is sneaking around near spaceship earth. I don't want to wait 2 hours to see Moana once I tap in...

We did it 3 times last week.
Monday, the line was about 5 minutes as was Wednesday after our number was called.
Friday, the line was back to the Moana sign when our number was called. We waited about 10 minutes to get to the check in, then almost no wait to go into the attraction.

We got a VQ yesterday but ended up not going in - we might have hit it at a bad time, but when we went over the VQ line stretched way back toward the land pavilion. The kids took one look at it and decided they weren’t interested- we had a bunch of lightning lanes lined up and they preferred just taking a break to play on a shady hill 😂 it looked beautiful and I look forward to checking it out next time we go, it just wasn’t in the cards this trip.

Trip next week and trying to decide if EE rope dropping Moana would be worth it? Or just wait and try for a VQ when it opens? Plan to try to snag an early morning LL to Frozen or Remy's so we could head over after.

It's a must-do for us with 2 toddlers that love Moana.

We go 10/28 & 11/4. We won’t be in the park until 6 pm (if flights are on time).

Can you post back on your experience. We have a an almost 4 year old who loves the movie as well.

It looks like VQ isn't available today. Boarding groups are also not posted which makes me think they weren't offered.

We did so the soft opening Sunday with VQ. Waited 120 minutes for our group to be called, took about 5-10 minutes from time we verified our boarded group to whatever of the attraction. Long backup for people taking pictures at the entrance, but if you don't want a picture you have to walk around them. Of course guests getting annoyed that people walked around them when you didn't care to wait for the picture.

It was fun - for young and old! You have the option to not get wet, but you will most likely get "misted" regardless

We did the AP preview and while it was interesting, it's not something I think people will go out of their way to do more than once. Not surprised the demand died down quickly.

I went through last night, Thursday 10/19. No VQ is in use. It wasn't necessary. They just let people walk in at anytime. I prefer this area at night because it's prettier. So I waited around 8:00pm. There was a crowd but it was moderate at best. The kids loved the interactive water features. I do to. I was out of there by 8:40 p.m. and went right over to see fireworks by the lake. I expect this to draw a crowd only on some days. My nephew went on Monday when it opened. It was an especially crowded day at Disney because of the anniversary and Orlando schools have the day off. I was at Hollywood Studios dealing with two hour waits for pretty much every attraction.
