Journey back to ME!!- I'm getting bugged!!

Amy - the goggles I found at swimoutlet.com - they have several to choose from and are about $18 - $25. Yes, my head is stuffy, but other times when I've had the dizzy they haven't been - at least to my knowledge. Whatever IT is, it comes on like lightning and is gone just as fast. Dr's have called it a flash, without the 'hot' and say it's really common in peri & meno. What fun! Once I realized I wasn't dying, the few times they happen don't make me panic - usually!

Anna - I SO want to do that repositioning, but I keep coming back to not being able to leave DD behind & not willing to pull her for that long from school. I tend to have low blood sugar & this 'dizzy' doesn't really feel like that - this is truly like something goes Snap & a lightning pulse goes thru my body, bringing some fog, lightheadedness & a bit dizzy. Lasts but a second. And ALWAYS either mid-cycle or just before - which is why they say it's hormone related. And, it's usually followed by tummy troubles briefly. Basically it's 'hormone hell'! Fortunately, It doesn't happen often!! The blood sugar dizzy is usually also a shaky feeling for me.

I made it to the gym to swim 48 min & took the pups for a 10 min walk, so I finished the Feb exercise challenge. Hopefully next month will be a bit easier.

Tomorrow, if this cold is still getting better, I need to do MAJOR errand running. I've been to icky and haven't done any since I got back from FL.

Hope everyone had a GREAT Wednesday - New month tomorrow!!

I really didn't WANT to exercise yesterday, Tracy, but I did!

Went to WW WI this morning - down .4 . Not much, but I'll take it. On my scale I made it down 3.9 for Feb - 7.4 YTD. On my old scale, however, I reached into the 160s. I liked that better!! Yes, I still have 2 scales as I started this journey on the old scale and the new, WW scale is not very consistent. I like it, but.....

Made it to Sams to get gas (was WAY below E) when DS20 called me back home to take him into work. Which is taking about an hour of my errand time away, and I really need LOTS of errand time - haven't been since the weekend before FL! Guess I'll have to do some tomorrow.

Tonight I have to take DD shopping for some bike type shorts to wear under a sheer skirt thing for a dance tomorrow night.

Please pray for DNiece in FL 4 mo old - she's ill & was admitted to the hospital last night for breathing problems/oxygen. She's home now.

Hi Julie,
i hope you niece is ok, things must be looking up if shes home right?

Congrats on the .4 loss
Hows the cough? I hope your getting better

Good for you for not wanting to exercise but doing it anyway. I did that the other day and boy was it hard. But I was glad I did. My DD who is my gym partner had a UTI this week so didn't go the gym. I found it harder to go without her. I guess we motivate each other.

Hope your niece is OK.

Have a good weekend!

I'm Back!! I spent Thursday & Friday running around non-stop! Got in plenty of walking, just none of it at the gym!

Thursday after WI, getting gas & turning around & going home to take DS20 into work, I got home & he wasn't ready when I got there. So, I dropped him & started errands at 12, having to be home around 2:30 for DD.

Went first to Trader Joes to get Fiber Cakes. Walked the store a gazillion times before I found someone to ask - they were out. Said they only get a few each day & they're gone quickly.

Then went to Costco where I purposely lapped the store 2x before starting my shopping & 2 x after. Then as I shopped I looped every aisle twice making "8s" all over (weird, but this is how I do Sam's/Costco so I get some walking in). Costco took me over 2 hours - and over $200 - and I reallyl didn't buy much.

Home to meet up with DD, go pick up her friend & out shopping for an outfit (or FIVE) for the friend & leggings & a top for DD for the dance last night. Friend is only child of quite wealthy parents, but the parents never take her shopping - Mom buys her guys jeans & shirts at Kmart for school. So shopping with her is an adventure - especially when Dad hands her 5 - $100 bills on the way out the house to buy 1 outfit. After 4 hours, we had everything we needed (DD & I found hers at Target - 1st stop - in 10 minutes :thumbsup2 ! I finally let them shop & I just walked for a bit over an hour. I couldn't stand being cooped up in a dressing room!

Yesterday I dropped DD at school at 7, went to Sam's, did my walk, bought very little, but spent an hour+, then headed across town again to Trader Joes. Got there about 5 min before opening. Yeah, Fiber Cakes!!! Bought 5 - hoping I would like them and WOW! they are AWESOME and only 1 pt. I ate 1 at 9:15 with a cup of coffee and it kept me full until almost 1:30 p.m. I hope they freeze well, but we'll know soon! After Trader Joes I went to Target, then another Target, then WalMart for Major shopping. 1/2 way thru I lost my list, so I imagine I'll be going back today :sad2:

DNiece baby Ashley in FL is much better. She went to Dr. on Wed - gave her a breathing treatment & machine - said virus & probably asthma, but too early to really diagnose. Sent her for a chest xray. Wed night she was turning blue & went to ER. 2 treatments, oxygen, steroids - spent until 5 a.m. in ER, then they admitted her. At 8:30 a different Dr. came & said she was fine, just croup & sent them home - never should have admitted. Yesterday she went back to her normal Dr who couldn't believe the hospital Dr. said no more treatments (which Dniece kept doing, anyway) and that Ashley had Bronchiolitis, needs the treatments and about a 95% chance she is asthmatic. She's doing well, though.

DS20 is now officially the Zamboni Driver - title & all, and got another $1/hour raise. He was happy! I'll be happy when he gets a car running, pays his bills & can support himself - (sounds like a compassionate mom, I know! - but it's a LONG haul!)

Today I need to work on getting my house under control - not that it EVER happens! Pick up DS17 allegra RX, along w/ more free candy bars at Target(NOT for me!) EBAY, go to the store & get the stuff on the list I lost, start laundry, DS17 school, GYM and visit some journals! Too bad I am always so bored & never have anything to do, isn't it?? :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a GREAT Saturday! It's only 17 here this morning, but we're to hit 70 sometime later this week....... Bring it on!!!

Hi Julie
Good news that baby Ashley is doing well now :)
Try not to do too much running around we dont want that virus back!!!!
I always loose my shopping list half way round the supermarket too!!
Lucky you to get weather in the 70's!!! Can you send some of that sun my way?? ;)

Glad your neice is doing better. I have noticed that if you go to different doctors you rarely get the same diagnosis. Frustrating.

BTW I laughed at your lapping Costco. Great idea but I was picturing other shoppers wondering what the heck you were doing. lol.

Yes, Carole, I get some really funny looks when I lap Costco or Sam's - especially since I'm short, the carts are tall, and I move FAST! Oh well, I've always known I was strange! Sam's is close to my house and I'll frequently go in during Business hours in the morning to pick up milk & walk for about 30 min - the guy at the door just laughs!

Yesterday was HORRID! DH got up, turned on the TV and it ran from before 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. with him lying across the foot of the bed in front of it. DRIVES ME NUTS!!!!!!!!!! It's not like this is new, but it's REALLY starting to drive me CRAZY! He even eats his meals there!! I got up, ran errands, unloaded, did some laundry, ran a couple more errands, came home, more laundry, some Ebay, back to pick DS17 up at work, home to fix dinner, more laundry, help DS17 w/ school, then finally took a bath & bed around 10. I managed about a 45 min walk mid afternoon to keep from SCREAMING! But, I ate, and I ate, and I ate and I ATE everything in site all day long from frustration. I felt Horrid, but kept doing it. I can't even begin to recall everything - sugars, carbs, junk, you name it! DH set me off early on as I've been waiting since mid January for him to file our FLEX bills to get the money back, and he hasn't. We're talking well over $1000 so far this year, and we've paid it out of his checks, now we've paid the bills out of our account & we're not putting it back in. So, I have to take it from savings to cover & it never seems to get back in. It's a matter of sitting(at the computer, not on the bed in front of MASH reruns) copying the bills & filling out a form. Then mailing it. The litter box had not been cleaned in over a month & I FINALLY got him to do it. I refuse! But that is about all he did! Yesterday morning I went over my day and asked him if he could possibly help start cleaning the upstairs. He straightened a pile of comic books someone had thrown on the floor - didn't pick them up, straightened them & left them.

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! I'm losing my MIND!!!!!! My house is a wreck, but he will clean only the surface of his nightstand - arranges it EVERY weekend, and about 1" around his bathroom sink (by shoving anything on the counters to my sink. If no one else here cares & will help, I'm getting to the point of Why Should I?????

I don't believe he's depressed over the Heart Attack as he truly believes he's in the best shape ever & good for another 20 - 30 years! He's always been this way. DD hates it, too! & the boys joke that he doesn't need a house, he needs a bed that has a built in TV, refrig & microwave! Sad, but true!

Ok, rant over! I MUST get my food under control! I'm finally 1.6 away from my 10% goal - and it's been over a YEAR to try to lose those 19 lbs. Almost anyone else would be able to lose that in a week or two - it will likely take me a month or two! Do you see a frutrated pattern here??? I'm glad to be losing, but life is getting in the way, again! Why???? Because I let it! Old habits die hard!

DD now has the crud & is feeling awful. She has done a little on her room. DS20 comes out only to eat & does nothing but watch TV. I peeked in his room because I'm missing dishes, & the floor is piled to the bed height. I won't touch it! DS17 worked all day yesterday, came home did some school. This morning he is going to a different church that wants him to play drums 2 wks on/2 wks off with their worship team.

If I get brave enough I think I'll walk up, get coffee, buy a paper, then walk home before I get busy. Tonight I AM going to the gym! Boy do I need it!!

Hi Julie
Sorry you've had a bad day, remember though your food has only been bad 1 day, so as long as you get straight back on track hopefully it wont have done much damage ;)
Take your frustration with DH out at the gym or pool.
Hope your feeling better soon, take care  :flower3:

Well, Tracey, better make that one BAD day & one not QUITE as BAD day!

At least I made it to the gym today & I swam 2 miles! Took me 75 min, but I did it! 9 lap sets in the pattern I do x 8. Then I did some sets of stair tricep pushups.

DD is pretty miserable with this crud & didn't believe me that the steam room would help. She 'needed' to lie in bed until her friend called & wanted to go to the gym. Once home she admitted she feels better having gone.

Still suffering from major frustration.

Tomorrow I have my annual gyn appointment - what a FUN way to start the week!

I managed to get the laundry done & a few things listed on Ebay. I'm hoping to go to bed early tonight as I'm still wiped out from this crud. I just can't fathom where all the 'stuff' in my head & chest is coming from, but it's NOT pretty!

Off to some more journals & sleep!

Have a great week, everyone!

Hi Julie, I don't blame you for being frustrated! I think sometimes there are people who just don't get bothered by mess and clutter (I know, I am married to one) and its frustrating for those of us who do! I guess its good your husband is feeling good about himself and all but also dangerous. He needs to really get on a plan and take this whole thing very seriously. But in the end, only he can make that decison. Again, so frustrating for you! :grouphug: . Please hang in there! And I agree with Tracey, you only had one bad day with food and your exercise is awesome. So don't be too hard on yourself. That is great about ds20's job. And I hope dd is feeling better soon. My ds has had this crud, going on week three. He has something that sounds like smoker's cough but is at least feeling normal now. Its not a nice bug! And it also sounds like that as usual, ds17 is doing great. That is wonderful that he will be playing drums for a church worship team. Good for him!

And at least going to the gyn on MOnday means the rest of the week will likely be an improvement!

Your doing great! Your the only person you can control and you are doing the stuff thats important. Give yourself a pat on the back!

:grouphug: Julie,

I don't blame you for being frustrated either. :( I know that I can clean my house top to bottom, turn around, and then it's a disaster again!:faint: I guess that's why my house is a mess most of the time. I get tired of cleaning it only to have it get messed up again.

I hear ya about the eating thing this weekend.... (Mine wasn't due to my DH, but do to the fact that my DD and I fell at church yesterday. I was so upset and so embarrased, but I really held my emotions in. The bad thing is that I took my frustration out on the food and it wasn't pretty. :( )The good thing is that you got quite a bit of working out in this weekend. :goodvibes Just be sure and drink plenty of water today and remember that it is a new day!:goodvibes

Hoep you have a great Monday!

Back from running DS17 to UNM to register for the GED - took forever. Barely made the Dr. appt, but all seems well - just the 'wait for the test' stuff.

I THINK I am under control with food today. I'd better be!!! I've been too bad for too long! My biggest problem, besides stuffing my face, is not journaling - I just can't keep it going. Good at starting, not good at continuing.

So, on that note I'm starting a 'Spring into Summer' journalling challenge - 108 days until it's officially Summer. I thought about waiting until 'spring' or until 100 days, but decided I need to STOP PROCRASTINATING!!!!!!!! If you want to join me, feel free! We can do this together!

3/5 - day 1/108

Fiber Cake(1)
Decaf Coffee(0)
Broccoli/cheese(5)
34 oz decaf tea(0)
16 oz water(0)
1 pt bun(1)
veggie burger(1)
ff swiss(1)
100 cal pk Hostess cupcakes(2)
1 graham cracker/marshmallow(2) w/ NO chocolate!

20 min walk - more of a jog across campus w/ DS17 to register for GED so we could get it done in time for my Dr. appt back across town
66 min WATP 5 miles

DS17 left his cycle at ChickFilA when I took him to UNM so I wouldn't have to take him all the way back home before my appt. He, of course, had to have breakfast, but I resisted the urge. Sure smelled good!!

Then he's having friends over for a fire in the firepit & I ordered FIVE pizzas. UGH!!!!! Gee, this Veggie Burger is WONDERFUL!! I will not eat pizza, I will not eat pizza, I will not eat pizza!!!!!

Hi Julie
Wow you swam 2 miles!! :thumbsup2
Your body proberbly needed the extra food for that!!! & to fight that bug!
Glad you are getting back on track & that the gyn appointment went well, The week is already getting better for you :cool1:

Yep! 72 lengths of the pool. My arms were achy when I got up this morning, then it hit me why! My legs aren't liking me much, either about now!

Hi Julie, I really like your journaling into summer idea. I have been better lately, its making a huge difference and making me wonder why can't I always do this? Great job with all that swimming, the only way I could swim that many lenghts is if they put an outboard motor on my butt! Keep up that good work, you are really swimming your way to a new you!

You are doing a great job getting your exercise in Julie!:cool1: Keep up the good work!

I like your Spring into Summer journaling challenge.:goodvibes What a great idea!:thumbsup2

Hope you have a great day!:cool1:

DS20 got called into work. GOOD!!! He gets to sit watch state BB tourneys all day.

I thought about going to the casino w/ a friend, but decided not to. I am going to go swim earlier instead & get some things done here.

I'd like to squeeze in a nap as sleep was very interrupted last night, but not sure that will happen. Wishful thinking! Exercise is more important!
