Jon and Kate Plus 8. Official Thread!!

I watched last night, and I decided that I'm done watching. I agree, how much is there to watching two grown people getting their teeth whitened. How many times can we watch them roll their eyes at each other. It seems like they are manufacturing things to put on the show. Hey Discovery Network. My life is much more interesting and I'm a pretty funny guy!!!! I'll let you watch me floss every day for money.

Last night was not my favorite. Watching someone get their teeth bleached--yuck--plus not enough camera time for kids.

Did anyone catch the new "state of the art" washers and dryers in the laundry room? Makes me want to throw my Maytag over a cliff!:lmao:

I agree! Don't the producers know that we're watching this show for the kids! My dd kept saying last night "they're not showing enough of the babies!"

And, yes, I did notice those new washers and dryers!

I'm glad one of the repeats last night was the one about Leah and Joel's special day. That one is our favorite - and, my gosh, that Leah is just THE most adorable little girl!

OT: Does anyone have a guess at the square footage of their house? It looks big to me; the rooms all seem a good size, but I was just curious.

I remember a show where Jon said it was 2000 something. The rooms do look large but the kids are small. Having said that I still couldn't fit 3 beds, dressers, play table and toys in my kid's room.

Guess I'm in the minority: I liked last night's episode. I don't just watch for the kids. I like to see how they all interact with each other. If the kids get special days, it just makes sense that Jon & Kate should as well. Getting your teeth whitened isn't exactly the most romantic event ever, but they really seemed to enjoy the results, so why not?

Yeah, the teeth bleaching show was pretty boring. why do I want to watch two strangers get their teeth whitened and then go out to dinner?

Also, why doesn't Aunt Jody come over to watch the 6, instead of loading up the 6 and droping them all off. Having the aunt come over seems like much less work. The only think I can think of is that going over there is a treat and a change of pace for the kids.

I missed the show Monday. Well, not sure about the kids thinking going to Aunt Jody's is a treat :confused3 Kate said they were getting tired of it, in that awful "gum" episode where she acted like a crazed witch!

I think they usually re-run Monday's episodes on Wed. nights - so you may be in luck tonite.

My dd10 was at Berkshire Mall last night, and said that John and the 2older girls were in front of her at Chick Fila. I asked her if she spoke to them, she said no. She did comment that the girls were teasing back and forth with each other about eating each others ice cream. She also commented, they acted very much like they do on the show.

That is coool, I live near that mall! I saw Kate shopping a few weeks back, guess they frequent Berks county instead of Lancaster area.

They eat Chick Fila? I'm surprised. The kids can't even eat a lollipop unless it's organic. I wonder if Kate knew they were eating processed chicken. :lmao:

did anyone else catch kate's comment on the most recent show about how they only let the kids watch 2 things on tv-their own show and little people big world? it struck me as realy odd-the only shows they watch are about themselves and another family who allow cameras into their homes (and i have to wonder how kate can stand watching a show where the mom is such a polar opposite on cleanliness and housekeeping:rotfl2: ).

i too thought the most recent episode was quite the snooze fest. i'm also so tired of everytime they get to go out alone them making comments about how they 'never' or rarely get to go out or be alone as a couple. they need a reality check that explains to them how even parents of much smaller families may find it hard to have alone time as a couple. i know dh and i are'nt alone in not having family or friends that can watch our kids such to accomplish this, or extra money to cover a sitter and the expense of a nite out. i look at their ability to go out alone for a meal while on a family vacation and think 'wow, it must be great to bring people along who are willing to spend the nite in with the kids while you go out cuz most people can't' let alone to be able to take even a few days to go out of state alone with your spouse (when they went to the beach alone as a gift for jon's bday).

I was just about to ask, 'since when is Chic Fil A organic?'! :lmao:
I think John must have to sneak out every once in a while for some normal life!

Where's the Chickfila in the Berkshire Mall? The only one I know of is over at Broadcasting Square. I may have to take a trip over there this weekend for some chicken strips.yummmmm

are the ones in your area open on sundays? the ones where we used to live were always closed since it was lds owned and for the most part staffed with all lds kids. it always seemed so wierd to walk in the mall on the busiest day of the week and see that place locked up tight.

Yeah. All Chickfila's are closed on Sunday. That's interesting that the ones in your area are lds owned. In this area all the Mennonite owned stores/restaurants are closed on Sundays(and there are a lot of em). So, it's not so unusual to see that here.(Still, I can't seem to remember that when I get a jones for some chicken strips on a Sunday!) Actually, the Chickfila that I frequent is a free standing one. From my understanding, that is unusual. That most of the Chickfila's are in malls.

I found this info on Chickfila's website:
Q: Why is Chick-fil-A closed on Sunday?
A: Our founder, Truett Cathy, made the decision to close on Sundays in 1946 when he opened his first restaurant in Hapeville, Georgia. He has often shared that his decision was as much practical as spiritual. He believes that all franchised Chick-fil-A Operators and Restaurant employees should have an oppurtunity to rest, spend time with family and friends, and worship if they choose to do so. That's why all Chick-fil-A Restaurants are closed on Sundays. It's part of our recipe for success.

I doubt that those two shows are the only things they watch. In an episode about the twins first day of 1st grade, Jon talks about the "little kids" congragating in his & Kate's bedroom "watching cartoons."

I think it might be more likely that they are the two shows they watch most or the only non-cartoon or maybe reality shows.
