Jon and Kate Plus 8. Official Thread!!

Actually it does seem people pick on Kate, she does this she does that. Anyone with a large family has to have some control over it. Or you would go nuts.

What drives me crazy is that Kate gets all the criticism and Jon just skates on by. Like on last weeks show, when Jon took off on his rollerblades and the twins on their scooters. Everybody was quick to jump all over Kate for the girls not wearing helmets/pads. But, Jon was right there and didn't make them wear the helmets/pads either.

Good point Kycha. I know being on tv invites people to criticize but it really made me wonder reading a lot of the posts. I guess I felt like people were judging Kate and there an old saying that basically says "if you could walk a mile in my shoes". What would any of us do when you go from 2 kids to 8 in one day.

ITA...that's why I have had very little to say on this thread.
It was really getting to the point that if you didn't think Kate is a greedy control freak asking for handouts, then there was not need to post.

Please post. I think the more positive posts we read will just make the bashing posts look even more ridiculous!

I love the show. I do think Kate is a little over the top sometimes -- but aren't we all?;) We've all said it before - I certainly wouldn't want a camera crew following me around for a few days. It is fun to come here and post our thoughts about what's happened on the show - good or bad. What I don't like are the people who sound so resentful that Kate has help. If people have offered, then why not? I applaud her for recognizing she needs it and using it wisely.

I have a small family and a small house but if anyone wanted to come help me--I'd be all over it!! God bless Kate and Jon for how well they handle all they have been blessed with.

Ain't it the truth...they'd show my last button being pushed and edit out the part where I apologize for losing it...or else edit out the button pushing and just show me losing it!

Thanks, aepecoraro. I never know exactly what reruns will be shown. Now I can plan on whether to stay up or not!

Cute show last night - as usual!

My favorite lines: "That raisin was on MY side!" & "I'm not a gooseball!"

And, final thought .......Jon really needs a haircut!

I loved those lines!
It was so funny to see the diffence in the little kids wanting to help and the older ones saying they didn't want chores (I'm sure that was Mady that said it) :rotfl:

I wonder where Kate got those. She kept saying she made them.

OMG! They so are!

On a side note, DH and I went to a local minor league baseball game a couple weeks ago. DH says to me..."Look! There's that guy you watch on tv". I was like,"Who the heck are you talking about?" DH says "You know, they guy with all the kids":rotfl: It took me a minute to figure out what he was talking about. It wasn't Jon, but it sure looked like him. I wonder if Jon has a brother?

:cake: :bday: Happy Birthday to Aaden, Alexis, Collin, Hannah, Joel, and Leah!!! :bday: :cake:

 They turn 4 tomorrow, May 10th. I hope they all have a wonderful birthday. :) They are all just so cute.

Did anyone catch the new one from Monday (I think it was new). The family started to put on a talent show, got stymied by confused 3-and-a-half-year-olds, and moved on to a fashion show. It was very cute overall, but it was definitely more chaotic than others; I couldn't always hear what everyone was saying.

I also thought it was cute that they showed Kate's fashion trends over the years!

Last night was not my favorite. Watching someone get their teeth bleached--yuck--plus not enough camera time for kids.

Did anyone catch the new "state of the art" washers and dryers in the laundry room? Makes me want to throw my Maytag over a cliff!:lmao:

Yeah, the teeth bleaching show was pretty boring. why do I want to watch two strangers get their teeth whitened and then go out to dinner?

Also, why doesn't Aunt Jody come over to watch the 6, instead of loading up the 6 and droping them all off. Having the aunt come over seems like much less work. The only think I can think of is that going over there is a treat and a change of pace for the kids.

Aunt Jody has her own family, including a fairly young baby. She is doing them a favour watching the kids once a week and if it is more convenient for her to have them at her house then that's the way it goes.
