I love the show, but have said to husband, yes, we only have two at home - one nine and one two year old, but I do teach 21 first graders all day! 21 six year olds isn't always calm and quiet!!!:) :) :) :)

I'm newly addicted to this show. I love it! I really like Kate and John. I see a lot of dh and I in their interaction- for example on the WDW episode "Where's the camera?" and him mentioning having to check and recheck things for her. Also, "What's your problem?" "YOU" :lmao:

I watch it now and then. They somehow make it work and seem nice enough. They look happy and exhausted. I'm glad for them. And glad it's not us!

I love Kate and her family. And anyone who critizes her parenting should spend just one day in her shoes.

The only thing that really, really bugs me is when she said her kids won't always have everything and they sacrifice other things so they can eat organic.

They do have everything! From what I can see, they live in a massive house with a huge yard . A house, that I will never own in my life. They have 2 cars. They go on tons of trips. Their kids receive free haircuts. She got a free tummy tuck. Her kids get tons of other freebies like Gap clothes and the Petal Rose cottage.
I really don't see any sacrifice.:confused3 ?

I thought she was talking about her & Jon sacrifice. Kate does not seem to have many clothes & I don't think they eat out often or go to the movies for example.

Unless the show stays on the air until the kids go off to collage the freebies will probably stop.

I watched this for the first time last night and really liked it. Boy I would not want to be in their shoes at all. I love kids but 8 is just too many, especially when 6 of them are the same age!

Dd8 & I really like this show. I only have 2 kids 4 years apart so I give Jon & Kate A LOT of credit managing their large family. There are very few of us IRL who could do the job they do without losing their cool or their mind! Kate can be rough on Jon at times but it seems like they have a good relationship. He was giving it to her during the zoo episode when she was off with the kids and the penguins and he was left back.

It's very interesting to see how all 8 of the kids are developing and changing and all their different personalities. Mady could drive you crazy after a while...I just love Aiden (sp?) and the young girl who kept calling him her baby - I don't remember all their names.

We'll keep watching! :thumbsup2

I love this show....jsut started back to work and now I am working on Monday nights and miss the show :sad2: Anyone know if they re-run the new episode at a regular day/time? ( I know the Little People Big World re-runs later that same night) I might have to break down and get DVR now so I can keep up with this show!

Watched for the first time last night - my daughter and I LOVE it!

Does anyone know if you can catch reruns of last season. After seeing the episode at the zoo, I would now love to see how the heck they managed WDW!:rotfl:

I watched both episodes last night and DH and I were :lmao: when Kate was talking about how the penguins thought the little kids were like one of them, and Jon was in the background just rolling his eyes. :happytv:

Double Post - although it really was funny!

TLC will sometimes have marathon shows on Saturdays or Sundays.

I didn't quite get why John was upset when they got to go in and pet the penguins. He must have taken some of the kids out of the building.

Jon really didn't like some of Kate's comments during the sit down interview. He is starting to be a little more snarky. Kate was talking about Aiden, how special the zoo was for him and how he clicked with the guide and Jon's comment was, "what are you a zoologist expert now?"

I thought the they did a good job last night showing Kate in a better way.

I bet they will air the WDW episode again. It just came out not that long ago. I enjoyed the WDW episode, but wish they would have shown more footage at the parks.

Actually he said this when she was talking about the penguin coming out and standing around the kids and that she acted like she was standing amongst a group of other penguins.

I enjoyed both shows last night. I loved the part at the end of the second episode when Kate was like "Are we done with this episode? Great, let's break out the jelly beans." That was really funny to me.

I loved Collin playing in the car pulling the others behind him in the wagon. And how at the end of the day he puts all the toys away. And I like how they were talking about him and Alexis. "he's trying to control the wild woman." :lmao:

I like Kate and Jon's reactions in the zoo episode when they were talking about Alexis and the penguin. :lmao: Alexis was so cute with the crocodile.

Both good episodes. :thumbsup2

I really did enjoy those 2 episodes. The kids were just so cute with the animals.

Plus, they are getting paid to do the show.

I do love the show - wouldn't miss it!

As the kids get older you really see each of their different personalities. I really enjoyed both shows last night. Loved how the 1 little girl (Alexis i think) was rubbing Colin's head when he was sick, that was so sweet...until she smacked her sister for getting to close :rotfl:

Kate is a VERY controlling person....it was funny when she made that one girl go away from the giraffe they were feeding because the girl was being noisy and Kate said she was "scaring" the giraffe.....then they showed the giraffe, showing no signs of fear...it could have stayed there all day eating those leaves.

And he is going to throw up on your hand! :lmao:

She said "Him will throw up on your hand" or something and that just made me laugh. Poor Aaden was just laying there with his bucket while his sisters fought over him. Those kids are too cute. I love how they show them fighting sometimes. They aren't perfect little kids and it's nice to see. :)

I couldn't help but wonder if one had the stomach flu, imagine the other 7 getting it  ;)
