For anyone waiting to see the WDW episode (or to see it again) it'll be on this weekend. The 13th at 9PM, then repeats at midnight. You have to search for it differently, it doesn't come up in the regular schedule for the series since it was a special and goes by a slightly different name.

Jon & Kate Plus 8 Hit the Road

Actually he said this when she was talking about the penguin coming out and standing around the kids and that she acted like she was standing amongst a group of other penguins.

Jon made the comment twice, this is why it caught my attention. Dumb thing to comment about.

I thought of the same thing, can you imagine the whole house getting the stomache flu? I wonder if they give the kids their vaccinations. Can you imagine if they all get chicken pox?

I love this show! Last night's episodes were so funny, the kids are too cute. They're a fun family to watch, and I like them a whole lot more than the other "big families" who have had shows. Jon and Kate have good personalities and senses of humor, and they don't take themselves too seriously. I also like how the kid's all have their own personalities and while they like to help out around the house and take care of one another, they aren't expected to raise each other. Some of the kids in those other families seem like little soldiers who had no childhood because they were forced to raise the younger kids while mom and dad went off to make more babies

I'm looking forward to next week's episodes!

Can someone please post on mondays that the show is on that night??? Dd & I really like it and I don't always remember and we don't have Tivo or anything. Thanks! :)

Actually, maybe someone would want to post TV REMINDERS every night of what popular shows are on so those of us who forget easily would remember to watch... :rolleyes1

Good idea. I actually forgot about it til around 6:30 pm last night. I hurried and looked in the TV guide and it said "new episode" I was excited!

I know I bumped the thread up once yesterday afternoon, but it must have fallen off the first page. Maybe a couple of people can bump it up each week to remind others.

I agree with this quote. I know they did not ask for 6 children at once, but there was a chance with fertility drugs, and they were very blessed. They now have many things given to them for free b/c of the sextuplets. The kids always have on great looking clothes, etc. I don't think they're missing out on anything (except quiet time). ;)

The only thing that really, really bugs me is when she said her kids won't always have everything and they sacrifice other things so they can eat organic. They do have everything! From what I can see, they live in a massive house with a huge yard . A house, that I will never own in my life. They have 2 cars. They go on tons of trips. Their kids receive free haircuts. She got a free tummy tuck. Her kids get tons of other freebies like Gap clothes and the Petal Rose cottage.
I really don't see any sacrifice.:confused3 ?

I had hubby watch an episode with me and he posed an interesting question...How is their household any different than someone who runs a home daycare or a preschool teacher? A lot of daycare/preschools have the kids for up to 10 hours a day, but aside from getting ready in the morning and getting ready for bed, there isn't much difference. How often is Kate on her own with the kids, anyway? It always seems like there is someone there (either Jon or a friend, relative, or sitter) I don't know, I thought he brought up a valid point...

Ironically the newest episode (Day in the Life) shows exactly that, Kate home all day by herself with just the kids. The twins are now in 1st grade, so it's just the little ones with her all day.

I just started watching last week for the first time, I'm liking it alot!

Some questions...how much are they getting paid to do this? When were the newest episodes filmed? And how old are these kids right now? Anyone know any other perks (besides financial) for them to do this?

I haven't seen it, but, again, how is it different than a preschool teacher or home daycare provider?

Well for 1 thing, by law (in most areas) a home daycare wouldn't get licensed to have 6 infants/toddlers without an aid, or I doubt 8 kids of any age unless all 6+

Not sure about their kids, but my kids always behave better for someone else

LOL that too

Oh and a daycare/preschool teacher wouldn't have the kids 24/7

also a pre school teacher wouldn't be bathing, cooking, teeth brushing, doing laundry, etc for their students or cleaning the school (excluding the cooking and cleaning if it were a home based preschool). A home daycare wouldn't be doing any of that except for cooking and cleaning

i just have to pipe in on one thing: the reference to daycare.

I am a state licensed home daycare provider. I am licensed for 12, but can care for up to 10 without a helper. Out of those 10, 3 can be under 16 mos. I do cook and clean, diaper many, potty train, give baths if needed (like if there is a diaper blow out and my DH is home), do laundry at nap (especially if someone had an accident and there have been times the kids help me fold towels). Throw in some preschool activities in there too.

But someone's DH is right, in some ways their home is no different than someone who runs a home daycare.

I get your point, but you aren't routinely washing the clothing/bedding for your daycare kids or routinely bathing.
I'm surprised that you could have 10 kids if over 16 months without a helper.
When I looked into it here in GA (but 15 yrs ago) the limit was 6 kids under age 3 or 4 without a helper

Kate would have to take her brood to the doctor's office and still run errands...would a daycare do that?

There are some home providers who do. All that is needed is carseats for everyone and parental permission. Granted, the ones I know that do take the kiddos with them do not care for that many.

But there is no way in hades I would! It is hard enough scheduling appts when my DH is home.
