She's on the show because she has all those kids. I have no doubt they want her to stay (producers and kids) and that both she and the producers want her to mention the kids to get her votes. She didn't say it just like that, but she did say the kids want her to stay and would be disapponted if she left. They get their popcorn set up to watch it on tape. I wouldn't have expected that she wouldn't mention the kids, any less than Buzz telling people who like the space program to vote for him. It's the gimic and reason she is on. Without the kids she wouldn't be known.

Yeah, but it seems just like typical "Kate," only using them for her advantage.

I wouldn't doubt it. Just like people send me emails all the time to vote for their niece, nephew, son, when they are in on line contests. Any reason she (or any of the other's) shouldn't? I assume you are just putting it out there, not caring one way or the other.

Really she is on there because she has the kids. Would anyone expect her to not mention them? Even if you don't like Kate, do you not agree it's the kids that got her on the show? And who knows..maybe her kids will be upset when she gets the boot. At least she is telling and preparing them she is not going to win, if the stories are true.

Kate said they( kids) live for Monday nights...it's the one thing they look forward too (ok, not quoting her EXACTLY, but she used them plain and simple, as usual) It has just gone on long enough...Cloris Leachman, Buzz, they were handed their fate...Kate is as bad if not worse. Bruno is the only one doing his job of the judges...It is unsulting to the remaining dancers that she is in the competition.

She should do what I do with my foster kittens that look alike. Just mark their inititals in their ears with indelible ink, and hope the other kitten (or baby in this case) doesn't lick it out, because even indelible ink comes off with kitten spit!

Wasn't it an episode of My Three Sons where the dil had triplets and they didn't know how they would tell them a part? So they marked their feet---but then someone gave them a bath and the kids all got mixed up.

All I can say is that (if this is true, which I doubt) these kids are probably quite unhealthily invested in Mom's interests. Most under 10's would be more interested in when Mom would be home, making dinner and reading stories, and encouraging their interests. The heck with hers!

Eh, I thought my kids were normally self-centered pre-teen and early teen. They sort of developed empathy for Mom in their late teens and twenties. They are lovely today. Bless their hearts.

True enough.

Though I will say--that when I was in a show (at church, but still a community theater type production)--my kids were actually very very proud of their mommy.

They also couldn't wait until the show was over as they attended many many rehearsals due to our home logistics at the time.

But they were indeed beaming front and center when they got to see the production.

So I do feel that kids can enjoy when their parent succeeds at something like that.

But as I said--they were just as happy when all of that nonsense was over.

Outside of that--yes, I agree...at this age, I'm not getting mom empathy anymore.

Ok, that article made me laugh because Kate called her kids 'the wind beneath my wings'! That just sounds bizarre to me and made me chuckle because now I have that Bette Middler song in my head....I can fly higher than an eagle, cause you are the wind beneath my wings.'

Does anyone think the kids coming out to CA and going to Disneyland has something to do with an upcoming Kate+8 special?? In her interview with Joy Behar, she said the kids were really excited because they were planning a trip for the show (special).

She says in her published “letters” to them they are her Most Prized Possessions. Some may think this is endearing; I think it is prophetic (and pathetic ).

Have we talked about the "sept" tuplet that was absorbed around the 10th week of pregnancy (according to Kate)? She has recently been talking about "her" in interviews. "Her" is what she is sure the 7th baby was (no apparent reason). She said they named her Emily Rose (I think) ...uh, isn't there an exorcism movie about her? One of the girls (Leah?) talks about "her" a lot. Is this really weird or is it me?

interesting. I know Faith Hope Joy are something--but fruits they are not all.

That's weird. 10 weeks is too early for an amnio and if the baby was gone at that point, there'd be nothing to test for boy/girl.

I had a miscarriage and we did provide baby a gender neutral name.

The whole thing sounds weird--I don't know about lost "twins" that are miscarried long before term--my cousin had a twin that was stillborn....so I could imagine it possible that she does feel a twin that is lost...but for Leah? Seems odd to me as well.

Has Kate ever mentioned all of this before?

It was explained on the Theme parks board...

FP skips with no FP--so not literally front of the line, and depending on your guide, there are ways that are not official that they can get you through without waiting in the general line on rides that do not have fast passes.

I doubt Kates crew was literally shoved past all guests to the literal front spot of the line to get the very next ride.

We saw Harrison Ford & Clarissa Flockhart at AK with her son. They were put on the ride without anyone even seeing them in line. Then we were watching a street performance & they were escorted out by a back gate area I never would have know was there. Security was there but very incognito.

I bet Kate & the kids got the same treatment which is why we never read about the visit until Kate let it out of the bag.

The Disney Land front of the line thing... I can't imagine this being normal. There have to be celebs and their families at DL literally all the time because of where it is located. People magazine is constantly showing pics of celeb fams at DL. They all couldn't be going to the front of the line. And with Kate's entourage! There had to have been 5 adults and 8 kids.
Someone I work with (who likes to talk about Kate and especially DWTS!) said in 08 she saw Cindy Crawford (w/ Randy Gerber and their two kids) at Disney Land. They were there at park opening through a regular entrance with season passes and no handlers. They waited in line at least once because she saw them. I don't know the way it works typically.

eta: Yes, she (the whole fam damily actually!) is "other worldly beautiful in person."

It is awful what happened to them with the nanny.

I know if we were standing in line for over 20 minutes and then suddenly someone came and cut in the front of the line, my dh would be the first going balistic (unless it was a child in a wheelchair, etc.). But just for Kate and her kids no way. Yes, I know it must be hard with 8 kids, but those kids need to learn how to wait in lline like our kids do.

Yes.

(and I hesitated to even bring this up, because it is a sensitive and difficult issue for so many parents, and I didn't want my words to be hurtful in any form or fashion to anyone)

In the speech Kate gave in March 2009, she mentions the 7th embryo/fetus (honestly, I don't remember what she called it) and that it was absorbed, and how Jon & Kate focused on a healthy rest of the pregnancy for Kate. Jon & Kate were understandably shaken by the loss, but were prayerful and moved forward. At no time did Kate mention that she felt it was a girl, nor did she mention a name.

For those who read Multiple Blessings, was it mentioned in the book? I'm thinking that it was, but can't be sure.

This is one of those things that I refuse to speculate on. Everyone handles loss in their own way. Maybe Kate felt it was the right time to bring it up.

But if they paid for the perk (which you are completely and totally eligible to pay for--something quite similar if not that with the VIP), then that is no differen than going ballistic on the folks who took the time to get a FP and get to cut ahead of your 1 hour wait.

I just don't see why someone would actually bother getting angry.
