Aaaahhhh--then that could be why we are disagreeing.I only saw the excerpt on-line.

What was the comment--and the context if you have it available?

it was a quick zinger, something in reference to the dogs and electric collars. she paused, smirked, and then said, "oh. did I say that?" and laughed in that way that clearly was snarky. I don't have the exact text, because I flipped over to the Kentucky basketball game as soon as the piece was over. It was enough that even DH said "ouch" after she said it.

I have no doubt that the comment will resurface later or tomorrow. :rotfl:

there are about a million pics of both Jon and Kate on their phones. that shouldn't even be a topic of conversation for them, LOLOL.... one is no better than the other!

I did find that silly..her commenting on JOn's phone useage. I'm not watching it right now (just washed the kitten room floor) but will later when I can zip through the commercials.

Would it kill the two of them to put the phones down? I mean, who takes their phone out to the garbage with them LOL.

Totally off topic..cause no way do I want J & K to adopt these babies! I just got a call from another shelter that is full, and no available foster homes. I'm getting a delivery of two 4-5 week old orange, male kittens, found on the side of the sidewalk in a tin..with the top on! They are driving them down from a city about 20 miles from us. Who would do that to kittens? So..looking for cute names for male orange kittens. If you have names, please PM me. Nothing Disney..way too overused LOL.
I'm going with Garfield. :thumbsup2 Sorry for being OT.

Did she suggest if Jon was on an leash with an electric collar she could control him better? Was it snarky, or was she trying to make a joke? I do agree that if it was a joke, if the tables were turned, many women's groups that used to be on Jon's side would probably have switched sides. If she would just learn to uh, not say some of the things that come out of her mouth, that might be funny in different circumstances, she might get ahead in the Jon/versus Kate. For instance, if a stand up comic said it..people would probably laugh.

Wow--that is an ouch!

Doris: Without seeing it, I would have to guess it was a zinger directed at Jon's transgressions. Not sure.

That's something catty to say among girlfriends. Not sure the show is the appropriate venue.

But again--not watching, so I don't know. I'lll have to wait for the play by play.popcorn::

We were in the Smokey Mountains, and we were driving down from the highest mountain, and traffic stopped-everyone was getting out of their cars, to see this poor bear. The bear was looking at everyone like they were nuts. Finally a ranger and police office came and yelled for everyone to get back in their cars.

Someone else mentioned how people will drive for hours to see the Gosselin's house-ugg. But I can believe it, it would be something my inlaws would do.

When I was a little kid, my dad drove us all over Newfoundland looking for the mythical Jackie the Moose -- a very old, very large and friendly moose that would come right out to the road to see people. He thought he saw him and always swore that he was in the picture he took -- we had to hear all about it every time he did one of his family slide shows. :lmao:

But he would never go to anybody's house unless he actually knew them. Or they had a gazillion Christmas lights up -- those are the people that are asking for it.

IMO, it's not Jon and Kate who deserve the privacy -- it's the kids. From the paparazzi, the gawkers and the stalkers.

Unless it is fast food, most establishments here serve alcohol.

Unless he has been alleged to be an alcoholic, he is of legal age to be drinking and it isn't outlawed to consume alcohol when one is a parent.

An important side note, they have showed both Jon AND Kate consuming alcohol in restaurants on the show.

I'm kind of the same way. I like to drink when I go out. I dont' keep a fully stocked bar in my home though. In fact, if a Box of wine shows up once every 6 months--that's good enough.

Drinking doesn't lend one self to a poor image. Being a drunk would though.

The one photo was a lucky shot of him with his eyes closed and not indicative of his state of mind or that he lacks the accountability to drink responsibly.

I don't think there are any restaurants here that don't serve alcohol -- maybe the fish and chips place? Nah, they serve beer. But I'm pretty sure McDonalds is still dry around here.

I usually have a drink when I go out, unless I'm the driver. But I still have liquor left over from my wedding -- except for scotch at Christmas time we rarely drink at home. Now, when we're at the trailer that's a different story altogether. :rolleyes1

I get that Jon can enjoy a drink..but am I mixed up, or was his dad that had a problem with alcohol and didn' tJon announce that and say that he wasn't going ot drink alcolhol again? Or did someone on this thread say that. It's pretty fuzzy for me. Of course that could have been ice water with lemon, for all we know. The pic was awful, but they prob took a few dozen to catch him with his eye's partially closed.

He said in the Chris Cuomo interview that he doesn't drink very much because his father was an alcoholic -- but he never promised not to drink. Truthfully, other than the birthday episode on J&K, and his saying he had Deanna drive him home because he had had too much, I've never seen a report about him being drunk. Or even having more than a couple of drinks in one place.

no issue, other than Kate's repeated insistence that she's taking the high road.

doesn't sound like that tonight at all.

ITA! It sounds like she's still fighting with him. I would think she would have realized by now that you can't really score any points once the game is over -- their marriage is done, time to move on.

Exactly. :thumbsup2

Lucky (BIL adopted a kitten that was hanging out at a convenience store abandoned. He (or she, I dont' remember!) lost an eye out of the ordeal as it got too infected. So he named the kitten lucky.

Thanks. 'Bout time you caught up! I was begining to think I made it up. I didn't get it all right, but I did remember something like the above.

I think we have been supposed to assume he's drunk, because they keep getting pics of him with his eyes partially closed LOL! I have no idea if he drinks too much. I think (correct me if I'm wrong) he insinuated Kate drank a lot of wine in the evenings. I don't know if that's true either. When a marriage breaks up, there is a lot of he says she says going on.

more legal paperwork ...

apparently, TLC wants to have something (the contract?) sealed. This is Jon's counterclaim to that:

http://www.radaronline.com/sites/default/files/GosselinSealedReq.pdf

:lmao::lmao::lmao: I loved reading that -- the new lawyer sounds like an interesting guy -- "how not to draft an enforceable contract" :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'm not surprised that TLC tried this, but I think it's highly unlikely the judge will go for it, given that it was TLC that brought this lawsuit and that much of their case is based on the "purported contract" -- they may as well ask to have the proceedings and everything the judge says sealed as well.

IMO, for justice to be done it does need to be public. There are very few cases that I would feel otherwise eg. victims of child molesters should have their identity kept private, information which could create injustice in a later trial should be sealed until that one is finished.

just caught the show while flipping channels. They were someplace getting passport photos. Heard Kate say they were going to Korea and the kids had been told not to tell. Jon came up and said something about listing Korea,

Kate had a FIT! Got on him about saying that in public, didn't he know he wasn't supposed to say it, now everyone was staring etc!

Yes, Kate, they were staring, but not over what Jon said, but the way YOU handled the situation by getting on him and carrying on and on and on and on like you always do! If you had just said, "Jon we don't want to mention that here" noone probably would have noticed.

I think they are insinuating.

The cocaine article had a partially closed eye shot as well. Those are keepers for high profile celebs for moments like this.

The money would be in videos/photos of him stumbling out of an establishment if he had an issue (IMHO).

I just don't think he is that stupid to have THAT much of a "good time".

Nah, it wasn't him -- it was a supposed former nanny. I don't know if it's true, or even if that person ever worked for them -- it was a tabloid article, and you know how I feel about believing those.

It took me forever to get caught up, what with the TLC injunction to read. :rotfl2:

And I'm not even watching the show -- I almost did, but so far it doesn't sound like I would enjoy. I actually just got home from work an hour ago ie. 9:30 our time -- long day, but productive. No, I am definitely not into watching Kate tonight. :sad2:

the comment was made in reference to the electric fence. Kate said the dogs needed to learn their boundaries... they wore their collars, their boundaries were set, and maybe we needed to get collars for other people. "OH. Did I just say that?" And I was mistaken, she didn't laugh. Just a big cheesy grin.

Whoa, just saw the part where Kate said the collar comment...she was talking about how the dogs needed to know their boundaries . Then she said maybe we should have other people wear them around here, Oh, did I just say that? Then smiled a gleeming smile. Yup, Madge, definite snark there.

Now she's saying he's on the phone a lot, a lot, a lot, did I mention she said a lot? Then she'd question the kids...did Daddy play with you? No, he didn't. Now, she says that she uses her phone too but hers is business related and Jon's is friends texting, etc. Kate claims she's only on the phone when she has to. Then TLC shows a shot of Jon at the fence. They are definitely showcasing Kate here.

I think the part that is most disturbing (which many have already said) is how TLC is editing this train wreck for their own benefit. Obviously they're hitching their wagon to Kate's because she might still make them some $. Therefore, show her in the best possible light (working hard at book shows, cooking dinner for the kids, coloring with them on the floor). Show her as the injured party and discredit Jon (well, he's kind of been helping that too!).

I saw that. She sort of accepted that she made a big deal, but then blew it off because they didn't go anyway.

and the following voice over was weird.

Geez, now Kate and the kids are at the Ronald McDonald house cooking dinner for the guests. She makes an announcement over the speaker phone that dinner is served, with love from J&K+8 minus Jon. Then laughs and tells the people around her that Jon isn't here, is he. :sad2:

that really was a nice moment. until she said that.

I have not watched in probably a year, but I just caught the last minute or so of the show. She was talking about how it good the kids see she's stressed and want to help out!? They massage her and rub her back/feet etc. That's how she went out? What the kids do for her. Ok then.

If she keeps going, this show isn't going to make either of them look good.

IMO, if she talks like that on TV, I really don't want to know what she says about Jon in front of the kids when the cameras aren't rolling. :sad2:

What the heck?! It's not like she actually wanted to be married to Jon anymore. :confused3

She should see what some of our lost soldiers' wives are going through, losing the husbands that they wanted to be married to, having to help their kids cope with losing their father, and doing it ALL ALONE. That is stress.
