I agree with you there, but IMO Jon assumed (like we did) that the dogs would be able to stay at the house with the kids. But I also think he could easily make some changes to be able to take care of the dogs now that Kate doesn't want them at the house on her custody days.

I also agree they shouldn't have gotten the dogs in the first place. But they did, and now they are pets that IMO belong to the kids. So I think Jon needs to find a way to keep them for his children, because apparently it matters to him that they had to be sent back to the breeder. Another "stop whining and do something about it" thing.

Totally agree!

Seems like Kate is having a lot of guilt lately. For someone who misses her kids so much, she sure is gone a lot. I don't believe that she broke down because she missed her kids. She probably wasn't having a good audition and this was her ticket out. She is sly!

Her reported worth has been in the 3 million dollar range---what kind of lifestyle is she trying to maintain for her kids?? Do paperplates cost that much??

Jon has an apt in NYC--expensive??? Where is that money coming from??

Kate makes it sound like they are going to have to go back to shopping at the Salvation Army. Her main concern is the freebies don't stop.

If she does make it on another show--is she going to drag her kids there all the time with her?? I doubt it!!

Just reading about the show yesterday shows how scripted this show has become. She goes to the farmers market twice in one day?? The kid with braces eating corn on the cob?? Her daughter needs to go to the dr. and the nanny takes her?? Get real!!!

I agree with you. One of the main things my son's ortho told him not to do was eat corn on the cob. You can pop those suckers right off doing that!

I really didn't get the nanny taking Cara to the doctor thing. There is no way I would send my kid with a babysitter.

I don't disagree with you...just giving her some slack while she figures it all out. I give her 6 months and then I think enough dust will have settled for her to know what is the best choice to make. I'm not exactly a Kate fan, but, for all that's come up over this divorce I'll wait and see...

See if you watched the show instead of reading already jaded opinions you may have seen something else. :rolleyes1 She did not say she went to the farmer's market twice a day - she said that they used to live really close by and they could stop in once or twice a day all summer - the farmer seemed like he knew her well (although Amish so not from TV!) and I would think she was truthful about that based on his interaction with her.

One of my kiddos has braces and wouldn't let that stop him from eating corn this year! As disgusting as it was to witness - he's pretty stubborn!

I winced at her sending Cara to the doctor with the sitter (she went to Xray with Kate later). But maybe that's a "mom's a nurse" thing. My BF went to school with a broken wrist for 2 days before her mom finally agreed that she really was hurt and needed to see someone. She had to be a death's door to stay home from school!:rotfl: Cara seemed to be more whiney than upset about her foot - and they said she had injured it 2 weeks before.

Going back to last night's show, did anyone else find it kind of odd that she went to that farmer guy's market "every day, sometimes two times a day?" Who has the time to go to a farmer's market every day and make a meal based off what you buy from the market? It just jumped out at me when she had said that. Figured I would mention it and see what y'all thought.

Yes. I also did a double-take at that. I love our local farm stands, but once a day is plenty to plan a fresh organic veggie meal around.:confused3

As for the rest of Monday's show, which was filmed a week or so ago . . .

What the heck was going on with Cara's foot? I watched the second showing and dozed off toward the end. After my bedtime!

I did wonder why Cara's sore foot was such a priority at the end of the "show" but not at the beginning. Poor Cara was walking on it all day (and had been for a week or two), but it was not a priority goal to deal with.

:rolleyes1Just saying.

I also thought that about Cara's foot. Why did Kate not take her? My dh said it was because there were 7 kids at home and 1 going to doctor. That made me think about when she and Jon are gone. Are there 2 babysitters? If not, then why can a babysitter manage but a parent can't. Call me naive but if i had 8 kids, it would be tough, but i would go at it alone when I had to. I love kids though. At least she went with Cara to the ER. I felt really bad for Cara last night. She was so angry and so aggressive. I am sorry, but this is affecting them more than they disclose and how wonderful that a camera is documenting breakdowns. :sad2::sad2::sad1::sad1:

.
My kids and granddaughter couldn't eat corn on the cob and we always cut it. My grandson's are different braces, and he can.

How do you know? Inquiring minds want to know...;)

I don't know!! I really don't know, and am happy to say so. I was just giving J & K the benefit of the doubt, because I assume that this is not real time. I'm just assuming that production might take a week. Or perhaps even two!

If I thought it were "real time" I'd probably be a whole heck of a lot harsher.:)

Perhaps TLC could give us the dates for each show. :rotfl:

Well that would really help with our timeline! Are you listening TLC?:rotfl:

This story is really sad. If you break down seeing a picture of your kids because you miss them so much then maybe that is a clue that you need to go home and see them. That may sound harsh, but come on. Enough already.

IMO, she definitely has enough money to live on for now -- she could just finish the season with TLC, then all of the kids would be in school full-time and she could add more work after that. I'm just not buying the "I have to do this for my childrens' future" bit -- money can't buy happiness.

IMO, Kate is doing this for herself. Maybe she needs to throw herself into her work to deal with the divorce -- that I would buy. But don't say you're doing it for your kids when you're not even with them on your custody days.

I don't think TLC will ever do that (which is why the kids got the dogs as their Christmas present in October)

But...Since that was the episode where Mady left the set to play with the dogs, it was on or before July 14th (since that was when those pictures were posted)

That nanny was not Stephanie. We discussed that one back in August.

I guess now we now it is Ashley's friend - who started working for them once Ashley went back to school.

How do we know this? Link? The Radar link doesn't say anything about who that is, unless I'm missing something. I still think it looks like Stephanie.

:confused3 Didn't see it - was it on the show?

It was on the counter when she was serving the food.

She went to the markets "sometimes twice a day" when the kids were small. How she did that I don't know, unless she had a not a nanny back then that we don't know about.

Your right, I was just going on what someone else had posted, however, I don't believe her when she says when the kids were smaller they went to the farmers market once or twice a day. If Jon was working and remember they had no help, how could she get 8 kids ready and go not once but twice a day!! Weren't those the days of sweatpants and t-shirts. Weren't those the good old days, looking back. I did flip on TLC today and the gumgate episode was on where she was throwing out the teddy bear. It's stuff like that, that make me not want to watch anymore. She likes to play the martyr!

I too would have gone to the doctors if I could. I can only assume that since she told the other 7 she would have game night with them, she decided, to do that. Or, it could be because they were taping :(

Kate didn't take Cara to the doctor? Is that what I'm understanding? Good LORD. that's terrible. :sad2:

PS. I'm done tagging for the sale, and I'm taking a 15-minute break before writing a donation letter for the auction. :upsidedow

She didn't take her initially. Cara's foot was bothering her from an earlier injury. Babysitter took her to the doctor and then they decided she would need an X-Ray and Kate took her to that.

It sounded like this was the day before a custody change-over and they were filming. They wanted to do this whole game night thing. Probably with the crew all there and it getting late, she went ahead with the filming.

Everything turned out to be fine with Cara's foot.

Hey y'all! I was thinking about this while I was out this morning and realized that Madge and Lora and maybe someone else was going to be at WDW when I'm there. I leave Oct.2nd for a short trip with a girl friend. Just wanted to wish you both a wonderful trip! (At least being in WDW for 5 or 6 days will keep me off this thread, lol)

it's too bad we can't get together and watch a show .. :happytv:

I'll be in Maryville this weekend. Is that close to you, Brenda? (I know you're out there ... :rotfl:)

Is that somehow supposed to be better? I think it's worse if she was hurt for 2 weeks before she was seen by a doctor! How does a babysitter even have consent for treatment (i.e. be allowed in medical situations with the kids). Seems like that would have to be very planned with a power of attorney. But, they are often both gone, so someone else would need to be able to take them if injured. Just not so nice if your mom is around, but sends you with a babysitter anyway.

Cynical of me, I know, but I wondered whether they decided to take Cara to the doctor to get her off the set, because she was getting upset at everything.

And how late were those kids up that night? It was dark out when Cara went for xrays, and they were all awake. Seems kind of late for 5 yo's to be up :confused3
