Video: Kate Gosellin says Jon's Dogs could Return Home:

http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2009/09/video-kate-gosselin-says-jon%E2%80%99s-dogs-could-return-home-i-just-needed-break

It is a 10 1/2 minute video clip from the Southern Women's Show in North Carolina. Shows Kate answering several questions from the audience.

Well, that cleared up something for me -- it was Kate who wanted the dogs taken away. I wasn't sure if Jon was telling the truth about that (or even if Kate had given permission for the dogs to be sent back to the breeder). Coincidentally, last night's episode (the one with the corn) was the one that an article had said that Mady had walked away from the shooting, got the dogs out to play with them and refused to come back to be taped.

Also re last night's episode -- does Kate have to talk about doing everything alone sooooo much? She also seems to have the same perspective at the conference, but at the same time she talks a lot about how busy she is and how much work she is going to have to do with the next book. She also pointed out that she was supposed to be home mid-week but decided to do another day on The View so couldn't be (:confused3 I thought we had figured out that Friday's show had also been taped on Tuesday)

IMO, she is making a choice to work this much right now and there's no reason she couldn't hold off for a couple of years until the situation has stabilized, and all of the kids are in school full time.

Find it strange that they could break out of metal cages??

The cages are just spot welded. Even my little kittens have broken through them (and once they know where the spot is, they know just where to push). There is some nice stuff you can get at the hardware store to fix them..and it lasts a little while. We just fixed ours.

I don't know if all the questions were preselected. One of the gals who asked a question posted on my other board that she asked a question and they didn't ask her ahead of time.

I was hoping someone would ask about Beth, but the gal who was there said it didn't occur to her (and she never told us in advance that she was attending, or we would have asked her to). She hopes to go to another thing that Kate will be at, and says if she gets picked again, she will ask about Beth. She says on the board that Kate was very well received.

Who saw Kate fooling with her ear piece on the View and making that look of aggravation? She was not happy when the attention was on someone else in my opinion.

She did look like she was having a lot of problems - something she's not used to when she's filming the show.

As for the attention on someone else, Whoppi commented several times during the hot topics that Kate wanted to be there and comment on Jon's article about the Stephanie thing so I think they were just trying to get her more involved in that show then she'd been with some of the other guests.

I saw her make a slight face - but to me it looked more like she was having problems with her earpiece and was frustrated with that more than anything. :confused3

Agreed!

I think she listens to what other's says..looks at her card (which has her written script on it..prob even about not posing for Playboy), and tries to put in what they tell her to say, but just isn't good at it yet...getting it in smoothly, that is.

I think with time (if she has time), she'll improve.

I'd be interested to know what's on their cards just because I'm nosey like that! :goodvibes I'm sure Kate had certain points she was supposed to work in throughout the interviews. The View wanted to cash in on their ratings having her on and maybe thought with having "talking points" and the more open format that she'd "spill the beans" about something there not being in such a "rehersed" environment.

I think she would improve as well.

I think Kate meant "funny" as "strange" and hushed that rumor. It was how she related to Kathy's joke. I didn't see a darn thing wrong with her comment since it is a rumor about her that is out there.

But don't you think that is how people relate? When she was talking about losing control and the babysitter, Sherri chimed in and totally related what she'd gone through to knowing how Kate was feeling. not that Sherri made it all about her but it was her way of saying, "Been there, done that too, I know how you feel."

And Whoppi...I like her...but I swear, she thinks her opinion is the be all, end of all of every topic. Ugh.

I agree about the funny meaning strange in this case.

I also agree that she was trying to relate to a "normal" person in some way....all she's done is the show for so long (everything she's done has revolved around the show) that I think she's trying to "break out" of that mold.

Totally agree about Whoppi as well! Had to quit watching because of her!

I'm going to try and leave this thread now.
Keep up the good job keeping this thread open and kind!!

So sad to see you go! At last stop by and say hello! :goodvibes

while I'm not purposefully leaving ... starting today, I won't be around much at all for the next few weeks.

How dare you have a life! :rotfl: I'm sure we'll miss you!! Good luck at the sale and have a wonderful time at Disney!!

he he he you just think you'llbe able to leave.

I'll be on a cruise for the next two weeks, so it sure will be quiet here with me, you and Madge all not posting much, if at all.

Goodness it's gonna be quiet! Have a wonderful time on your cruise!!

Madge,
Too bad I won't be a WDW on the 5th where we could watch the show together. LOL! I come hom on the 4th.

while I'm not purposefully leaving ... starting today, I won't be around much at all for the next few weeks. The big consignment sale is this week (I sell stuff and work the sale), I'm heading to East Tennessee this weekend (do I need a swine flu mask?!), and going to WDW next week (and have NOT packed a thing!)! When we get home from vacation, it's 2 weeks to go before the school fall festival, and I'm on the auction committee .. busy and fun time ahead, but not much time to pay attention to the Gosselin drama, which is all the same stuff, different day, anyway. :rotfl2:

OT - Just curious what consignment sale are you referring to? I just did one last weekend in Louisville. Where are you in Kentucky?

I had no doubt that Kate didn't want to be responsible for them any longer. Most baby sitters don't take on dog duty.

However, I don't agree that it was only Kate who wanted them gone. I believe it was both of them, since Jon could have gotten a closer apartment and come over every day and taken care of them, or built a kennel and hired someone, or stayed in the old house that hasn't sold and taken them.

But at this point in their lives, I don't think either of them needed two large untrained dogs, added to all they have going on and I think this was the best thing at this time for the people and the dogs. Perhaps it will work out differently as time goes on and the breeder did say he would be keeping them.

Well, that cleared up something for me -- it was Kate who wanted the dogs taken away. I wasn't sure if Jon was telling the truth about that (or even if Kate had given permission for the dogs to be sent back to the breeder).

Going back to last night's show, did anyone else find it kind of odd that she went to that farmer guy's market "every day, sometimes two times a day?" Who has the time to go to a farmer's market every day and make a meal based off what you buy from the market? It just jumped out at me when she had said that. Figured I would mention it and see what y'all thought.

Yes, I thought it was odd as well.
I thought that whole show was odd.
I never had braces, but two of my children do. There is no way they can eat corn on the cob with the braces. We always cut it off the cob for them. Poor Mady was saying how hard it was to try and eat it on the cob. Why couldn't Kate help her out there?

And while I understand why Kate wanted Cara'a foot looked at before she *left* why did she ask the sitter to take her? I'm sorry, if one of my kids needed to go to the Dr. The sitter would be *sitting* the other kids at home while I took my child to the Dr!!

I found it odd too.
But Kate said she promised the kids "game night" and maybe she agreed with TLC and some of the sponsors to do this segment. Christmas toys anyone?
I'm glad they showed the alligator golf game. My kids had that game, and the golf ball never went inside decent.

Can anyone explain what Kate meant, when she took Kara to the ER for x-rays. She didn't make any sense. I heard Kate say twice:
"anything to make the nights longer and the days shorter."
Was it sarcasm?

I too would have gone to the doctors if I could. I can only assume that since she told the other 7 she would have game night with them, she decided, to do that. Or, it could be because they were taping :(

I took it to mean that she had enough to do in the days, so she didn't need anything else, And perhaps the nights are lonely, so she likes to fill them in with stuff and while she's at it, take the pressure off of the busy day? Just a guess.

Hey y'all! I was thinking about this while I was out this morning and realized that Madge and Lora and maybe someone else was going to be at WDW when I'm there. I leave Oct.2nd for a short trip with a girl friend. Just wanted to wish you both a wonderful trip! (At least being in WDW for 5 or 6 days will keep me off this thread, lol)

Which book? Is this still the cookbook? And Kate does not do anything alone. Steve even goes to Target with her! People with nannies and babysitters don't take care of their kids alone.

She is choosing all this work and being away from her kids. Which is fine, but then don't whine about it. I hope she worked out that babysitter thing with Jon.

She said it was kind of a sequel to Multiple Blessings (I'm guessing it's about the divorce, because she said it had to be written in such a way that the kids would be able to read it), which should come out next year. The cookbook will also be coming out next fall, but she said it was ready to go. Maybe she's planning to do that sequel on her non-custody days? Would be kind of hard to not take time away from the kids if she does get full custody. :confused3

I agree with you there, but IMO Jon assumed (like we did) that the dogs would be able to stay at the house with the kids. But I also think he could easily make some changes to be able to take care of the dogs now that Kate doesn't want them at the house on her custody days.

I also agree they shouldn't have gotten the dogs in the first place. But they did, and now they are pets that IMO belong to the kids. So I think Jon needs to find a way to keep them for his children, because apparently it matters to him that they had to be sent back to the breeder. Another "stop whining and do something about it" thing.

Why would the Queen of organics need colon cleanse? Isn't it strange what you find on an episode when your mind wanders from boredom.

http://www.ecrater.com/product.php?pid=4249786

My friend talked me into just watching "one more episode" because she still loves the show and misses discussing it with me. That will be my last one.

To stay home and play games instead of taking your child to the doctor? That is so cold. You know it was because they were filming. Poor Cara.

Also, the G's were caught in another lie because the cameras were there all day, not a few hours. Also, the nanny that was not shown during the corn shucking was Stephanie. The nanny that she cried about at the gate. Check Radar.

That nanny was not Stephanie. We discussed that one back in August.

I guess now we now it is Ashley's friend - who started working for them once Ashley went back to school.

This story is really sad. If you break down seeing a picture of your kids because you miss them so much then maybe that is a clue that you need to go home and see them. That may sound harsh, but come on. Enough already.

http://www.nypost.com/p/pagesix/kate_breaks_down_on_set_TaMNqkzkdn9KPKoDH6kvrO

I can give her a break on this one. She wants to be with her kids and yet she does need to think of the future and continue to work. It's not like Jon is dependable in a financial way (or any way ). If there is any chance she can have a successful career that will work for her split custody she should go for it.
